Date: 2008-07-18

Just want to show that Jinzora works great for some

I used to use Ampache as my collection server, but went to jinzora both for the functionality
and the great looks.

I had some problems in the beginning, but now everything seems to "Just Work", although there
are some small annoyances (like the shoutbox)

I recently changed from apache2+php+eaccellerator to lighttpd+fastcgi+xcache, and the difference
in speed is just incredible. My collection has about 11000 songs from 300 artists, and the startpage
renders in (as reported), 0.4 seconds. Apache used at least a couple of seconds. Of course the whole
site is more responsive as well.

I'm running this on my home desktop machine, P4 2.6Ghz, 2Gb RAM, and Arch Linux as my OS of choice.

Both me and my users are happy! Thanks!

	Date: 2008-07-18

My install keeps hanging up at various points. If I refresh the page sometimes it will go thru but then leave me with a settings.php with settings missing.
It also says native mysql support not found but i have mysql-server and php-mysql.. and it says gd not found but I have that too.

My first big sticking point seems to be:
PHP Fatal error: require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'backend/backends//header.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/html/jinzora2/backend/backend.php on line 42

The web installer stops at step 6 with a blank page, and then i click the location bar where it says step 7, and load it, and it continues to where it
loads the media, where it starts to load media then goes blank... I really wish I understood what the heck was going on here!

?????????????

If I run configure.sh then it says go to the webpage, all I get is a blank page and this in the log:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function dbx_connect() in /var/www/html/jinzora2/backend/primitives/database/abstraction.php on line 156

WTF

I'm getting to the point where I'll be seeing "rm -rf jinzora2" in my sleep.

Where's that paid installation service?

	Date: 2008-07-18

Sorry if this was the wrong place to ask for help on this. Ive been using Jinzora for about a month now. And i love it. I use it daily at work to stream music. I never have an issue with streaming or playing music. I setup a few movies in a divx folder in the root of my webserver. They work fine to stream through the divxplayer.php file i found on these forums. And after a fresh install the download options works for a couple hours. I had re-setup Jinzora today at work and downloading of movies from the divx folder was working fine. I got home and my buddy said the download option was no longer working. And he was right it had stopped working under my account and his. I also tried it from multiple computers. I dumped the cache from Jinzora admin tools. I dumped the files manually as well. I also cleared the cache in Firefox and all cookies/temp files in IE. Ive also deleted the data in jz_tracks. Ive also shut off streaming from the user templates and only allowed download. I think ive covered all the bases i can think of. If i do a fresh install the download feature seems to work fine for a few hours. Then it just always tries to launch in the embedded divxplayer after that when you click download. Please help its driving me nuts.

If theres anything else you need to know let me know. Im using the Jinzora 2.75 release.

	Date: 2008-07-15

I understand but DSM-320 is for streaming music, photo and music to your TV from your computer. It is an internal media server. So I guess I am a little lost as to why he would need DSM-320 and Jinzora to do the same job.

Jinzora - streams to external out side your network and within your network. Great for music on the net. Video side I have not found anyone who has gotten the video streaming. (And yes I like Jinzora as well)

DSM-320- stream to a TV within your network. Great for Videos from your hard drives.

	Date: 2008-07-13

Jinzora 2.7.5. and maybe the other versions are vulnerable to Cross Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.
Just add: /"><script>alert(1)</script> in the link to jinzora, after index.php and you`ll see what happens

For those who don`t know : Malicious users may inject JavaScript, VBScript, ActiveX, HTML or Flash into a vulnerable application to fool a user in order to gather data from them. An attacker can steal the session cookie and take over the account, impersonating the user. It is also possible to modify the content of the page presented to the user.

In order to fix this vulnerability, you should filter metacharacters from user input.

Greetz,
TJ.

	Date: 2008-07-12

Ok so Ive had my jinzora server up for about a week or so now, it works fine. I want to have both my movies and music setup through jinzora. I just added an extra 500GB drive to the linux box which is running jinzora but how can i specify multiple media directories, when I tried to add it into the settings.php file jinzora wouldnt even load up. Also once I do that the default page jinzora comes to has it so you can browse through artists by letter. But with my 2 drives theres only going to be 2 main folders...movies and music. So how can i tell jinzora to use that default page within the "music" folder that I have instead of the root folder. It looks like the heirarchy is artists/albums/tracks, would that be what I would want to modify? Or is it something in the admin consol? I hope you understand what I mean. Date: 2008-07-11

Hi mtinman,

During installation, you've probalby choosen Streaming & Jukebox Mode. Jukebox Mode means sending music on your server to MPD (a music player daemon that can be installed on your server) instead of streaming it to the client you use for visiting Jinzora.

The error you get, is because Jinzora can't find MPD running on it's default port. I'm guessing you haven't installed MPD on your server. If you'd only want to stream music to your local player, try reinstalling Jinzora and choose Streaming Only.

If you do want to use MPD, make sure it's configured correctly, listening on port 6600 and running.

Good luck,

Maarten

	Date: 2008-07-11

Hey all,
I just wanted to find out if anybody had experienced the following error: mpd->SendCommand() / Error: Not connected. I am seeing this error message on all of my pages in Jinzora, even when logged in as admin. The location of this message is near the top left corner of every page. Everything else seems to work ok, gd is installed, and my album art shows up just fine. What is the cause of this problem, and what can I do about it? Thanks in advance!

	Date: 2008-07-10

hmm - I'm no expert but did you make sure to create the divx folder in the root of your web server and place your videos there? It sounds like its not able to find the video. Are you using Windows or Linux? On Linux I simply created a symbolic link in /var/www called divx which points to my videos directory. On Windows you'll probably have to create the divx folder and put your videos there.

Hope that helps,
