Reading the Date Code on a System Sensor CO1224T Carbon Monoxide Detector

The System Sensor CO1224T is a state of the art carbon monoxide detector designed for use in residential and commercial facilities. The CO1224T uses an advanced electro-chemical sensor to monitor low levels of carbon monoxide in the air, ensuring both your home and office are always kept safe.

Reading the Date Code

The Date code on the System Sensor CO1224T is a 4-digit number that represents the date the detector was manufactured. This code can be found printed on the back of the CO1224T...

And on the side of the detector's box.

When reading the date code, the first digit represents the year. (A "3" means 2013, a "4" means 2014, etc.) The 2nd and 3rd digits indicate the month. ("02" for February, "12" for December.) The 4th and last digit indicates the week. ("2" for the 2nd week.) So for example, a date code of"3123" means that specific detector was manufactured on the 3rd week in December 2013.

The CO1224T has a life expectancy of six years from its date of manufacture. When the sensor reaches the end of its service life, the trouble contact on the detector will automatically open, notifying users that the device needs to be replaced.

Little Elm Burglar Targets Homes with Unlocked Doors

In the town of Little Elm, Texas, a string of burglaries took place over the course of a week that left residents shaken and their wallets feeling just a little bit lighter. Police discovered that the suspect -- described as a tall, Caucasian man in his 20's -- targeted homes with unlocked doors, and simply waltzed right in while residents slept. One victim, Bill Abercrombie, didn't even realize his home had been burglarized until he found his wife's purse outside, credit cards and I.D. untouched, but $500 in cash missing.

This goes to show that no matter how safe you think your neighborhood is, it's never out of a criminal's reach. Be safe and make sure your doors are always locked. Even better, install a reliable security system in your house to protect your family and your property.

"I'm upset that we don't have a camera currently - and that's changing this week," says Abercrombie. "I'll have cameras inside and outside, so next time, if somebody does this - I'll have footage."

Two men -- who had previously rented a storage unit at a wine warehouse in Seattle -- thought they could outsmart the security system by spray-painting over security camera lenses and placing plastic bags over motion sensors before making off with over 200 cases of wine. Too bad for them, they missed a camera, which ultimately led to an arrest. This goes to show that the ingenuity of semi-professional thieves is still no match for the state-of-the-art security systems of today.

The word of the week is KEYLESS!

That's right -- Keyless. (You know? Like having a key, only not.) Pretty self-explanatory, right? Alright, now hold that thought.

What would you say if there was a way to lighten that key ring? (Go on...) Maybe offer an easier way to lock and unlock doors, cabinets, garages, and gates without having to carry a metal key around in your pocket? (Interest Piqued...) Then it's time you looked into getting some keyless locks.

We realized that for many of the products we sell, there could be hundreds of models for each item - for example the Pelco DX8100 has many option combinations which include - how many channels do you want your DVR to be (8, 16, 24, or 32?) Do you want the audio option? Do you want the MUX option? Do you want both? How much memory do you want (250GB, 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, etc?)

Another issue is the information about the products being dispersed across the web. The time it takes to research and understand each product takes away much of our customers' valuable time. This makes the buying experience more complicated than it should be. On our Pelco DX8100 page, we have simplified the buying process as much as possible. We have included a table where you can easily navigate to the model you need based on channels, audio option, and memory needs. We have also researched, included, and organized a vast amount of resources on the DX8100 - which our customers should find helpful.

While all of these features do educate our customers to make the best purchasing decisions, sometimes that is just not enough. Many times our customers need to speak to a pro, and discuss their needs, before being able to make the right buying choice. That is why for each brand we sell, we spend time training our staff in the intricacies of each of the products, and options within each product.
