Wednesday Philomena finally gave up and quit! She was a Ten year old Phillips SVGA monitor I clung stubbornly to as others moved to LCD. I promised Jack I would upgrade when she gave out each time he mentioned buying a new monitor. He mentioned it often as Phil turned that sickly color yellow that all old computer plastics do.  Well the time came.

We had the wall mount on another wall and it had to be removed, Annika aka Office Squirrel helped. See her helping! *giggle*

New Mounting. I wanted it centered so I cut this 18×18 inch board screwed it to the wall 16 inches apart …into studs… that’s for you Jack-Jack who often wonders if I just screw into the wallboard and say a prayer over it. Truth? I have been known to do that.

Now Why won’t this bad boy work ??? I’ve found the adapter for the video card plug in. I turned it on ( Duh)

Now for a name?

Monday Nate got his braces off. To toot his horn a bit… he was released an entire year early because of great hygiene and the use of a new kind of appliance called Damon Braces. Dillon had them too and he was released 6 months early. Nathan’s work was more extensive than Dillon’s so the both did very well! We are relieved its all over except for the retaining phase and we LUB and highly recommend our Orthodontists Dr. Penny and Dr. Hall of Weatherford, TX. I couldn’t find a complaint if you paid me.  Everyone from reception to the doctors themselves are just top notch! A joy to visit!

The light in the laundry room has not worked in over a year. It just went out one day and since the roof leaked in that area we attributed it to that. We fixed that section of roof and Jack got ready to fix the light in there on Sunday. Jack got the “bright” idea to switch the old light fixture in the kitchen with a new light we have been oogling and use the old kitchen light fixture in the Laundry Room…which is no longer the laundry room since we moved those appliances …Tool Room? I didn’t take any pics of the Laundry room light work. I was tucked in my bed by the time that all happened. Jack loves to work at night. I like to sleep! Here are the kitchen ones.

Now I need to paint the water marks from the leaks and we can forget they ever happened! Weeee!

Good Golly someone LOVES Raimen!

Treated myself to an apple pie at that fast food joint we all know. A reward for not being a big baby and stopping the whole Squirrel Dome Clearing on Saturday when I got tired and wanted to quit. I could have easily done it and my men would have carried me like a football HERO to the house, but alas the punishment continued until it was all cleared. 

In case you are wondering There is no such thing as bad pie!

Okay that is not true.

Sugar-free Blueberry pie ( saccharin) with Gluten-free crust is so bad my dogs would not eat it. It smelled like burnt polyester.

My dogs eat poop from cats, ducks, squirrels, raccoons and possums, just so can gauge for yourself the true nature of my before mentioned pie statement.

Last weekend was GLORIOUS weather here! A fluke! Nearly 55 degrees, sunny, light winds. We went to work clearing a spot in my wildflower garden. A loose term. I really is a corner of the property that I mowed once and baby rabbits came flying out and my heart nearly stopped as I checked to see if I had hit one. Nope! They are little blisters of speed, luckily! So I let it go wild and flowers grew. I dubbed it my wild flower garden and Jack called it something else. Something like a fire hazard! “If you want to run over baby bunnies, be my guest” He could never bring himself to mow it until the bunnies had become grown ups, the wildflowers went to seed and it really WAS a dried up bundle of sticks…aka fire hazard!

So we cleared it to make way for our Squirrel Dome.

There should be a drawing of our plans right here. When I find them and they have not been chewed by a squirrel I will drop them in here. I keep putting things away to keep them safe from the Office Squirrels…Annika and Isis… and forgetting where.

Basically the squirrel dome will be Jungle Jim some of you all might remember from our youths, if your over 40. Dome of metal rods none of us really knew how to play on and kids kept climbing, falling off and breaking their arms. Except ours will be enclosed with small gauge wire fencing and have a door. The squirrels will have their nesting boxes hung inside and there will be a trap door at the top. They can come and go during the day and the trap door will be closed at sundown to keep them inside and safe from Raccoons, Coyotes, Cats, and other things that go bump in the night.

The floor will be for our Sanctuary Possums to have some night experiences in spring and fall and if they prove hardy enough some of them might live on the floor permanently. They are with us because unlike the possums we released these cannot climb for one reason or another. So the Squirrel babies will be safe. Just in case we will be making the squirrel boxes a special way to keep out grasping arms. More on that later.

I can’t believe we had the mower out in January or that we had grass to mow!! As you can see grass is only living under the tree. That is the summer’s doing. Nothing survived outside of shade this year. Usually we have a little grass in with the wildflowers. Wildflowers are the lighter shade of green and the spottier of the two because only some wildflowers set themselves before blooming. Bluebonnets are very hardy and have set up already. Others just come up from the ground from bulbs when the weather gets past freezing and still others a big airy plant, like with Mexican Hats must form. They seem to like the rockier soil. So lots of dirt still showing out there beyond the tree.

The Dome will set half in the grassy area under the tree and half in the wildflower area.
