We’ve got grass to munch, a fence for safety and all our dogs are in at night, paradise for rabbits. Except for the cats, not sure which one in all the commotion brought this baby jackrabbit in. She could have been chased in. Gracie Dane needs the door open a LONG time to get in and out. Jackrabbit Girl got away pulled a fast one and ran out the open door. She rested on the porch, looking injured and allowed us to pick her up. We checked her over and she had a skin tear on her belly ( about 1 cm)  not a bite mark ( no saliva and no puncture) so we super glued her skin together. Nathan pulled a tick from her jawline. I bet that felt good to get that off.

She is a few weeks old, already on her own and quite successful, a tight full belly. We took her picture. She was getting a bit too quiet so we didn’t fuss much more. Turned her loose before she went into shock from all that people attention.

Her best chance of making it is out in the yard far from people…and cats. I hope.

I bought these Daffodils five years ago in the dead of winter and forced them in my kitchen window. They were those left over bulbs you see at the closeout counter the ones singing like Olivia Newton-John “ …take and chance on me-eee!” Well they were amazing in the window and I don’t like scuffing my mower on these decorative rocks I got when the road in front of the house was paved, so I planted them right in front and told myself not to be a baby if they don’t come up. Oh! I just looked at my garden journal…eight years ago. I may no longer be young!

The first year they didn’t. Then the following April! WHAMO! They keep repeating the show every year, God Bless Them! They make me smile like crazy every time they do their thing! This is the earliest they have every bloomed. Its been a wonderful winter…Texas got more that its usual 15 minutes of Fall weather this year.

Tomorrow the boys as I are set to mow the grass again. I pinch myself. I want to remember how this feels when the sun is high and strong this summer!!

Oh, it rained all weekend so instead of working all my plans for outside work, we stayed in nodding off to movies and re-watched 30 Rock in  Marathon Format on Netflix Streaming. No pictures! You all know what nodding off to TV looks like so no need to give you the play by play.

80′s Nostalgia led me to consider this kit, especially the B-52′s song Love Shack, but along the way I time-warped further back to the 50′s which was very “IN” mid-80′s and I jumped a forward to modernize a bit, so you will see some paper cutouts of little shacks and wings, some bubble wrap too. Geometric shapes: dots, checks and squares dominate this kit.  Hope you enjoy it! I would love to see all your creations, please don’t hesitate to share your gallery links or send me a copy of your goodies!

Big Day today…There is only one Hygienist at our dentist office that we can’t stay away from so we all have to take our turns on Thursdays, so every 6 months its 3 Thursdays of visits. Today was Dillon’s. All is well and he is beaming! Then it was to the Grocery, Lowe’s AND Home Depot, then I needed my glasses fixed and the feed store took a chunk of money off us. I love going to the feed store…I know…weird but I love it! Our feed store is Tractor Supply and one side is feed and the other side is…TOOLS! Love me some tools! Dropped off the Goodwill giveaways, library books, bought some more girl scout cookies…that is what we go to town for..cookies!

Home Again Home Again…jiggity-jig!

I made a Layout for Kim’s New Kit…A BOY kit this time! A grown up boy kit and since I have grown up boys it was especially good to relax and play with that! Man! I really want to show you, but I have to wait till tomorrow.

Talked to the designer of the garage we’re building in the spring…now I am all talked out!

Ever done something dumb?

Really? Because you all seem so smart!!  :grin

Last Night while dropping the tomato paste into the spaghetti sauce I got stupid. ( we don’t normally say stupid around here, taught the boys it was a swear word when they were bitty) so when I say it! I mean it.

The paste was dropping just fine, you know how this is done…cut both the top lid and bottom lid off and the stuff slides right out…kerplop!

I don’t know what I was thinking other than I didn’t want to fish the bottom lid out of the sauce so I grabbed it as it was falling. Like pinching pennies from heaven!  It was still attached to the can just a bit so it didn’t come along as I liked.  SLICE!

I told you it was dumb!

after repair

So useful when they are not cut up. I take them everywhere! Yes, blood got in the sauce…we just stirred it more. Hey! There was $8 worth of ground turkey in there!

Now I tell you all this not for sympathy, or to rate the cost of ground turkey, but for the solution which I thought of this morning when I couldn’t type a lick, tried to shower my own self and not get the bandages wet, tried to feed the cats ( open pop-top cans of salty business) , squirrels and possums fruit cut with a knife… and the cuts ( even bandaged) kept popping open and bleeding everywhere. This will NEVER do! Finally I remembered, SUPER GLUE!

Now I can type, feed things, brush my teeth…GET MY HANDS WET! …a godsend for me since I deal with poop and pee, blood and guts, bathe animals, rub, scratch and pet animals all day long.

So last night’s Stupid IS this morning’s Genius! Ta-da!
