I woke up this morning and took a shower. I was a in a great mood. I felt like I was on vacation... and then it hit me...

This was the week I normally take a cruise.

That's okay, since I've got ideas on places to go, such as St. Helen to visit the Braces, visiting Larry, and maybe a trip down to Ohio.

There's travel on the horizon and a damn good time happening every moment.

Today... is a good day.

I saw "Flight of the Conchords" at Kent State University on Sunday. They sounded good, but the audio setup was bad. Does that make sense? It does to me. Above is Jermaine on the big screen. I didn't get a shot of the full stage because my cameraphone sucks, and it would have been hard to tell it was the band. Maybe I just fail at life.

That one's Kristen Schaal, who plays "Mel" on the TV show. She was actually pretty funny, doing stand-up before the show. This was the first pic I took, and well, you can see how tiny she looks from my cameraphone.

Another birthday post. Can you believe it?

This time, it's for the illustrious Carrie! It's hard to believe that we'd met in seventh grade, and then lost touch after high school for so many years. Once we reunited, it's been like we hadn't lost a moment, and that says a lot for connections like that. It's amazing to see how she's grown and changed over the years, and deep down, is still the same person I hung out with way back when, but with so many new facets.

It also helps to know that she isn't exactly holding a grudge for smashing her hand in a car door senior year of high school...

A big happy birthday to Carrie -- may all your wishes and dreams come true, and here's to many more years to come.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum.

That's right, kids. This place is freakin' awesome. You better take a ton of quarters so you can check everything out, but damn. Such a cool place. I didn't want to leave due to sheer awesomeness, but I felt I should so that there'd be more for the next time I went there. Pinball, DDR, old signs and posters, and the best part -- old fortune telling machines and other mechanical displays.

Also, we saw Violent J from ICP fame there, but I didn't realize it till Carrie mentioned it at home. Had I known, I would have approached him, since she's a big fan. Ah well.
