A bit of sadness in my head today.

I have just completed week 4 of ‘The Quick Start Challenge 2018’, which means that there is only 1 week left. Darn it! However, I must say, in the 4 short weeks that its been running, a tremendous following has built up on Facebook and I get the feeling that it will continue thereafter. Great news!

Anyway, this week’s challenge was to create & implement a 7 day follow up via my autoresponder, link it to my ‘triple tier list building system‘ and check that it worked. Mine did and in fact, I achieved 8 :-). Boom!

I’ll report back on next week’s challenge here. Might be tinged with sadness though.

Well, here we are at week 3 of The Quick Start Challenge 2018 and this week is all about generating traffic.

This week’s Challenge meant delivering a ‘Triple Tier List Building System’. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? Essentially, it is creating (links embedded):

• An Opt in page.
• A 2 step bridge page to include your autoresponder.
• A money or affiliate page to send subscribers to.

Fortunately, noting that I have been around for a very long time, I have several free things that could I use. So, I decided to use an existing Opt in and Money Page, but created a brand new no bells or whistles bridge page. Everything was fine until I tested it, then…

… bang!

I had the ‘double opt in’ switched off in Aweber, but the process did not flow as I thought it would. I checked 3 times but I could not see the problem. I got in touch with their 24/7 Live Chat, got an immediate hook up and Jeff D thought it was an Optimize Press issue. He took my log-in details and everything went quiet for 3 minutes, at which point he arrived from the back office and said I’d needed to put the autoresponder code into OP’s squeeze page (of course) and create a divert, which he had done. He asked me to check it and it was done…

… boom!

2 lessons here:

1. Don’t leave it to the last minute because you think you already have the pages set up and ready to use.
2. Because we work with IT, expect an issue to crop up. However…

(a) Get it sorted, don’t let it beat you.

(b) Ask for help. I could have sorted it, but it would have been a few hours whilst I worked it out.

(c) Be grateful because energy returns to the point of origin.

However, I can safely say that I failed forward this week. Ye-maaaaan!

As part of The Quick Start Challenge 2018 (week 2), we have been asked to design the life we want and also estimate the cost attached to it. I love this challenge, not only because that I have a vision statement already prepared under the coaching skill of the legend that is Bob Proctor, but it lays down a foundation to follow every day.

I will tailor it to this challenge, here goes:

“I live in Cardiff, UK with my 3 kids whom I share 50/50 responsibility my their Mother. 

I live in an amazing small Stately home. When I was circa 22, I fell in love with this period style house that was my Bank’s staff college at the time. It is now a hotel, but nevertheless, the architecture, stone colour and history made me fall head over heels in love with it. So, I shrunk it slightly & copied it in new lime (bath) stone.

I am very lucky indeed because I also have wonderful houses in South of France and San Diego where we all just retreat to enjoy the sun. We also shoot over to South France to enjoy our boat too, ‘Dotty’, a Sunseeker Manhattan 72 ft boat.

We all holiday a lot. Every 3 months we have a mini break, anything from 1 week to 4. We also take advantage of weekend away’s in the UK and Europe where we just love eating, drinking and meeting up with friends. Where available we always fly first class! We enjoy taking the kids on exciting holidays like skiing, beach holidays and adventures!

We also adore Rugby and this means watching Wales play as often as we can (in a private box in the Principality Stadium) and are also planning to go on tour to watch the British and Irish Lions play (every 4 years) after the youngest kids have grown up.

I have a beautiful garage that holds 5 vehicles. My red Ferrari 458, a baby blue Aston Martin Vantage V8 for Dot my other half, a Black Land Rover Vogue HSE (because I live in a rural area) with all the toys and a BMW M3. We also use an Audi A1 for everyday driving.

Dot and I have set up a foundation that provides philanthropy to kids, cancer charities & people in need of money help, which we probably spend a day week doing together. We just love helping people.

I am pleased to say that I have a gardener, whom does our lawns, flower beds and fruit and vegetable plot. We eat as much from the garden as we can, because we just love eating healthily. Tastes so much better than shop bought ones!

I also have a cleaner for the house. It’s just too big to do myself and I have someone whom cleans the cars when needed. Life is just too short!

We use the time generated at night improving our Salsa moves in classes, going to concerts and going to the pub. In the day I still enjoy going to the gym, doing Yoga and meditating to calm the inner voices.

This is all possible because of the success of my Internet Marketing business & coaching/speaking work that I do both in the UK and USA, which I just adore. I work 2 to 3 days a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I also attend mastermind groups to keep improving, even at my age .

Dot runs our properties, which she loves doing. She finds, buys, renovates and then rents the properties in the Cardiff area. She is busy building a legacy for all of our children. Maybe a future business for them to take over?

I have always encouraged my kids to become self-employed. That way, you can control your own destiny and just make the most out of life. I encourage the kids to write books everyday! For the time being though, they are all in education getting qualified! I am hopeful to get Cerys (my eldest daughter) started in my business, so that the others will naturally follow. An elder sibling is the best advert for the younger ones.

We have always celebrated events like Easter, Halloween and Christmas. In fact, we go to great effort (and expense) to ensure we celebrate them properly. 

Finally, we are all healthy, happy and loving. I always try and be a role model for my children. My legacy to them is a healthy lifestyle, a positive outlook on life, good morals and values like integrity and honesty, confidence and to do the right thing, even when no-one is watching and to help others in need. I am pleased to say they are bang on track!”

Supporting it:

• Capital expenditure

1. The house would easily cost £1.5m to build.
2. The second homes would easily take that to £2m.
3. The cars & boat would push that figure to £3.25m.
4. Rental property purchases £500k.

Making a total capital outlay of £3.75m

• Monthly income

The boat itself has an annual running cost of 10%. That is the highest, but as a good practice, will assume it across points 1-3 above to allow for the gardener, cleaner and my travel & Rugby plans. That means:

1. £3.25m * 10% = £325,000 annual income needed on top of the initial capital outlay.
2. £27,083.33 per month.
3. £890.41 per day.

The rental properties would generate a yield of circa 8%, which means that a rental income could be established of £40k to add to the pot. This is purely ‘passive income’. Rents in Cardiff are currently increasing, so the return would increase year on year.

A layman reading this would think that I am ready for the lunatic asylum. Ha! However, they forget 4 things:

1. The immense power of the internet. These figures are easily achieved… if you work on the right things.
2. The massive advantage of being coached by good moral people, who have been there, done that and succeeded because of the right attitude.
3. The important habit of never giving up… and I never will.
4. Knowing that… what you want, want’s you back even more. It’s the Law of Attraction.

Well, here I am again in Internet Marketing (IM) mode, which I must admit I did not think I would be.

Why is that?

Well, since my first blog post in 2008, it’s fair to say that I have not cracked the ‘IM’ nut despite spending more hours than I care to remember getting myself (self) trained because funds were non-existent after the UK recession almost took out my ‘off line business’.

It’s also fair to say that during those years, I created several products (and I mean lots of products & spent hundreds of hours doing them) and then… nothing. I know this is a recognisable experience for many other IM’ers.

I was lucky because I had the support of an amazing lady, but, because it took so long, her patience just ran out. I was stuck. I had no funds to get a reputable coach and the IM arena soon became an topic of disagreement.

I almost stopped… almost!

Luckily, I am generating a modest passive income from affiliate marketing and my books in Createspace and Kindle and that bought me some time.

So, one last chance.

I took my time to find either a suitable product that could get me kick started again or a coach who’d been where I’d been… properly in the shit, but had made it through. The answer was soon evident because someone was shining way above the rest, but I could not afford the £2,997 Internet Profits Certified Partner programme fee. Bugger! However, I am massive believer in The Law of Attraction, so got my thoughts into working with Dean.

The answer…

… The Quick Start Challenge 2018.

I got both!

Do you want the solution to success? It’s…

… perseverance.

The thing is, it’s not quick or pretty. Calvin Coolidge said:

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

If you have known me for a while, you’ll know of my love for walking up mountains. My nearest one is a baby in comparison to ones in North Wales but nevertheless can be challenge for many reasons such as fitness levels, weather conditions and other walkers to name just a few.

Getting started on it is tough. Your immediate hike is into a 100m incline at 35 degrees. At that stop point, you are already tired. What I do is walk slowly, not stopping at all whilst setting a goal that when I arrive I can have a cold drink. So, all I think about in that 100m ascent is… let’s just get there first.

From then on, I give myself the next target point and walk until I get there too. I do not stop. I continue this process up the whole mountain. As you can imagine, as the clock ticks by, my energy levels dip, so I refuel with snacks and a banana and off I go again.

At the half way point, I can look back on my achievement and feel proud at the distance I have covered. This motivates me tremendously. I also begin to think about my lovely picnic that I am going to have at the summit. I imagine a hot cup of tea from my flask coupled with a gorgeous chocolate bar because you need to replace lost calories

On my favourite mountain, the final push is 45 degrees. It could not be a worse time to face it because you have already spent all your energy getting to the bottom of the summit, but as always I set myself a target of walking up in 2 or 3 phases depending on how exhausted I am. At this high level, you can actually see all around you and I often look behind me at the route I have covered & conquered. I love looking down on the people far behind me who are facing the same challenges I did an hour or so ago.

With the summit in view, it takes all my effort to jump over the final large rocks because my moment of triumph has arrived. I walk to the summit and sit on the pile of granite stones (erected by mountain rescue to identify the summit peak in bad weather) of which I have been there countless times.

The funny thing is, you are exhausted… but this is just half the story because you’ve got to go back down again… safely!

I hope you can use this analogy in your life because ‘success is a journey, not a destination’. Once you stop or coast, then there is only one outcome; so you’ve got to keep moving everyday.

Albert Einstein said:

“You never fail until you stop trying.”

There is a Chinese proverb that says something along the lines of ‘it does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop‘.

They key to get everything you want in life is in your hands, so here’s what I want you do:

1. Change your mindset to a positive one.
2. Do not accept your current results as a future indicator.
3. Set some scary goals.
4. Do something everyday that will move you towards them.
5. Remember that time is on your side and is your biggest supporter.
6. If failure comes your way, just accept it as it is, do not give it any additional weight but learn from it and move on. They are only bumps in the road.
7. Find friends that support and motivate you.
8. Look for achievements (they may not be quantum leaps) & celebrate them fully.
9. Rinse and repeat… but aim higher next time.

By following this routine, you’ll already be ahead of the vast majority of people, so remember you have given yourself a huge advantage over them. Well done and keep going!

What is a paradigm?

A paradigm is a collection of habits built up over a number years and fixed firmly in your sub-conscious mind. In my book ‘11 Things You Must Know About The Law of Attraction‘, I note that it has huge control over our lives; “…the reason why we keep doing the same old thing and expect a different outcome.”

So, how do we change our paradigm? Well, a simple way could be:

Firstly acknowledge that you’ve got a bad one. No worries at all!

Second thing is to replace the old beliefs with new ones. I want you to take time to properly think and think in reverse essentially. If you think something’s bad, imagine that’s it’s good.

Thirdly, define your new beliefs (ensuring they match up to what you want in life). Reinforce them through repetition, which can be done in many ways, but good ones are affirmations & a gratitude book. If you want to have more money, then create a positive affirmation to that effect… and so on.

Work on changing your self image too and all of this positive energy will create new direction for you. New thoughts and images will create ideas in your conscious mind and thus opportunities in your daily life.

With so much at stake it is definitely worth having a go.
