Simple & Elegant Browser Tooltips

It’s been a while since I have given back something cool to my users and the RW community. So today I wanted to release a great new stack called TipTip for FREE!!! TipTip is a sweet & simple custom tooltip that behaves just like the browser tooltip but looks a whole lot better! It is based off the awesome TipTip JQuery Plugin.

TipTip detects the edges of the browser window and will make sure the tooltip stays within the current window size. As a result the tooltip will adjust itself to be displayed above, below, to the left or to the right of the element with TipTip applied to it, depending on what is necessary to stay within the browser window. It uses ZERO images and is completely customizable via CSS. Make sure that check out real world samples at the TipTip Stack Test Site.

RSS Stack Integration

The RSS Stacks have been a HUGE hit! I have been getting a lot of great feedback form our users. What’s in the Update?

• The Offsite Stack has been upgraded to use JQuery v1.4.1. This new version is much smoother in rendering the resize effects.
• The height settings were changed from being a slider to simply an input field. This allows you to specify the exact height without the fudge factor that the slider settings have.
• Added a new width setting to allow you to specify the exact width you want. You can use percentages or a defined pixel width.
• Fixed issues with the Gecko browsers (such as Firefox) where the height of the offsite source was getting improperly set.
• Updated the dmg to include an installer application. Installing these stacks could not be easier now.

How to Upgrade the Offsite Stacks

The following is a quick tutorial on how you can upgrade the stacks on your stacks page.

1. Drag new stack onto page.
2. Copy the settings from old stack into the new version.
3. Delete old stack from the page
