The 32Gb 3G model seemed to be the best option, with plenty of space for anything from video podcasts to iPad applications. For protection, I also bought the Apple iPad sleeve which also doubles as a stand.

Since I am running iOS 4 on my iPhone, there was no way of restoring my apps and other information to the iPad. This means that I had to start from scratch, which is necessarily not a bad thing, and meant I was off to a fresh start.

After syncing with iTunes, I fired up Safari and was delighted to see my bookmark toolbar appear exactly as it does on the Mac! I will not bore you with writing about the pure awesomeness of browsing the web with the iPad, there are lots of other places for that. Instead, I let me share the first problem I found; there is no Swedish keyboard! Granted, it has not been released in Sweden, but it is still just a software keyboard. I was also wondering who at Apple thought it was a good idea releasing the iPad without iOS 4 and multitasking.

I was delighted to see lots of beautiful and truly usable apps already available for the iPad, such as Reeder, which is an excellent RSS reader which synchronizes to Google Reader. I get all my RSS fixes using this app since I bought it — it just provides an excellent reading experience.

Another remarkable and excellent application is Air Video, which simply lets you stream on-the-fly transcoded videos directly to your iPad (and iPhone). This might not sound like anything special, but the experience is perfect, and everything just works right out of the box. You can stream anything including high-definition Matroska files, and the video quality is flawless.

This was a first of a numer of posts regarding the iPad and my experiences with it. As I use it for just about anything right now, there are lots of apps and experiences to stumble upon and share. And just remember to get a good microfiber cloth for cleaning the screen from time to time.

Oh, this post was entirely written on the iPad using the WordPress app.

They performed a number of extraordinary missions during the war, but one of the most memorable was the liberation of a German concentration camp. There were some very strong images from the camp, and the viewer is thrown directly into the very same place where the story plays out. The feeling of being authentic and knowing that this has actually occurred is overwhelming and disgusting to say the least.

This is a remarkable and very strong story about friendship and about ordinary people achieving extraordinary things together. The portrayal of Major Winters leading the company from D-day and rising in the ranks during the war is excellent. The character development of all main characters is done well you can clearly see the difference between the people in episode one and the very last one.

The actors have done an amazing job telling the story in a honorary and authentic way. The following quote is from a war veteran on the IMDb boards:

I am an 80 year old combat veteran (88th Inf. Div. Italy).

I watched BOB on the History Channel. I was so overwhelmed, indeed a bit panicked by the authentic nature of 90+% of the uniforms, signs, noises (I take exception to the sound of incoming artillery).

I cannot believe I’ll watch it again. It’s too much. Too real.

One of the most powerful images however, is that the real people behind these characters talk about what happened in the beginning of each episode, with an epilogue at the end of the series. Seeing the real Major Winters talking about what he has experienced during the war, gives a remarkable depth, and puts the characters to life in a completely different way. It is quite similar to what The Fourth Kind tried to do, but actually succeeding. The fact that is was indeed real, was of course the main success factor.

This is frankly on of the best movies/series ever created.

This movie is a decent teen/horror/comedy movie where the acting of Fox and Seyfried really lift the movie from the otherwise dubious story. While the premise of a high-school cheerleader turning evil is not bad, the execution is not quite there.

Don’t get me wrong, it is still an entertaining movie, but it lacks something that can’t be expressed — it could just have been more.

The main actors are doing a good enough job, but the script is boring, predictable and there are not that many funny moments. This is a movie to watch if you just want to zone away for a while while having a casual laughter from time to time.

This is a very interesting movie and it is where the name Keyser Söze comes from, which is references in a number of movies and other places. Since this is already a classic, there is not much to be said. Just go and see it if you haven’t!

I think Clooney did an outstanding job with this movie. The first half was filled with his usual better-than-everyone-else kind of way, which is fun in itself. The second part however, he was in a completely different state of mind; vulnerable, showing true emotion and like the tagline of the movie says — “ready to make a connection”.

This is definitely one of the better movies in this genre of the 2000′s.

Sorry for delayed update. I wanted to let you know where we were.

We’ve been having trouble with outbound connectivity from the tier of machines that power the Like button. We’re still debugging this issue, but we’ve restarted the tier of machines a few times, and the situation does seem to be improving.

We have a number of people from our engineering and operations team continuing to work on the issue and hope to have a more definitive update shortly.

We’re reopening the bug to investigate the “Cannot be reached” bug. Thanks for the detailed repros.

For the international folks out there – we’ll look into extending the timeout, but the issues your sites are seeing are most likely linked to that issue and not the central issue of this bug.

Other cool things to look forward to include custom menus and a lighter admin interface, designed to keep you focused on the content.
