Having only met Ally and Matt over Skype, I wasn’t sure how they would handle the less than favorable weather conditions. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple to photograph on a cold and rainy wedding day. These two did not let the weather discourage them as they carried perma-smiles throughout the day. I’ll be the first to admit it was cold and I was underdressed for the weather. The rain seemed to hang around most the day, but I think that is what made these photos so much fun!

Both the bride and groom’s families made me feel like part of the family. It was a pleasure to photograph this wedding and I couldn’t be happier for these two newlyweds! Congratulations Ally and Matt!!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Yesterday, Emily was working and I was debating whether or not to take Eliza to an Easter egg hunt. I wasn’t sure I really wanted to go through the hassle of getting her ready, eating breakfast, and everything else before 9am. I knew she wouldn’t understand the event nor remember it, but part of me wanted to take her for the photos. I’m really glad I did! I adore these photos (some of my favorites of her) and loved seeing her watch all the other kids go crazy after the eggs. Eliza managed four eggs…not bad for a first-timer!!!

Minneapolis Wedding Photographer–Kiley + Behrang

Good to be back…my 2012 wedding season is now in full swing! Super excited for this year! On St Patrick’s Day, I photographed Kiley and Behrang’s wedding in St Paul. I don’t think any of us (including the Bride and Groom) had any idea how crazy busy things would be. There were hoards of people everywhere! It made for a fun environment and a very memorable wedding day. Kiley and Behrang had originally decided on an August wedding, but rescheduled for March. We were pleasantly surprised the weather was very August-like. Kiley and Behrang’s ceremony and reception were held at 317 on Rice Park. Kiley and Behrang’s wedding had elements of Persian tradition. It was a beautiful ceremony and a pleasure to attend! Congratulations to Kiley and Behrang!!! Without further adieu…here are their photos…

Wedding Weekend Sneak Peek

I photographed one of the craziest wedding days yesterday. It wasn’t so much that the actual wedding was crazy, but rather the St Patrick’s day crowd in downtown St Paul. As many of you know, I was involved in a photo contest this week to win the new iPad. The results were announced this afternoon and I’m happy to say I will be receiving an iPad soon!!! Minneapolis Engagement Photographer–Jackie + Mike

Excited to post my first engagement session of 2012. This signals two things for me each year…first, Minnesota is getting close to spring and second, my wedding season is starting VERY soon! Jackie and Mike wanted a winter session. Given the crazy winter we have had here in Minnesota, I didn’t think this would be a reality. Luckily, we were able to find some of that white stuff. We got some beautiful winter light and spent an hour or so convincing ourselves that “it wasn’t too cold” to be outside for photos. The truth was the sun was shining, but I came home feeling like an ice cube. It took awhile to warm after this session, but it was worth it!

Excited for Jackie and Mike’s wedding this fall!!!

Eliza– 1st Birthday!!!

One year ago today, my life changed forever when baby Eliza was born! My family grew from 2 to 3! This past year has been a blur and I learned more about love than I ever thought possible. I cannot believe my baby girl is already a year old!!! Everyday I consider myself unbelievably lucky to have her in my life!

Over the weekend, we threw Eliza her first birthday party! Em is obsessed with Pinterest and used that site to pull together nearly every detail of the party. She did a wonderful job planning, and I played a big part in the execution. I’m pretty proud of the photo display and and paper lanterns that I put up : ) Wow, decorating was a ton of work!!! Emily’s sister flew in for the party as well and did a fantastic job with the cake and cupcakes. Not only delicious, but tasty as well!

Eliza’s cake smash was the highlight of the party. She hadn’t had sugar up till this point. She LOVED her cake, but she kept suspiciously looking up at us to see if it was okay for her to eat this delicious desert. She was adorable all day…it was so much fun! I thought being a photographer was the best job in the whole world, but I’m pretty sure being a dad has superseded that job. I love this little girl so much!!!
