People say hope is not a strategy. They say a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. For some the glass is half-full. For many others, half-empty. Some are waiting for a bailout. Some have buried their heads in the sand, blind to both opportunity and disaster.

This Valentine’s Day at JohnstonWells, we’re choosing optimism. Our hearts are set on possibility. Our chests pound with passion. Our cheeks glow with hope. We are on fire.

And we’re not alone.

Denver’s community leaders and non-profit organizations revel in perseverance and sanguinity. It is our distinct honor to know and serve with people who are in the business of improving lives. It is their optimism that helps feed our flame during these trying times. We know it will feed yours too.

Happy Birthday Will

Denver’s most famous Will turned 90 late last year. From surprise birthday cake deliveries, to brake-dancing street performers to mystery billboards…Will brought out all the stops to celebrate. It all culminated at his surprise 90th birthday party at the Governor’s Mansion where Mayor Hickenlooper revealed that Will is actually Goodwill Industries of Denver. Community members celebrated all of Goodwill’s accomplishments over 90 years, and learned that Goodwill is so much more than retail.

To help stir interest in the Will’s Birthday, JohnstonWells developed a website for the program — www.happybirthdaywill.org. Here visitors could learn more about Will, make a guess as to who he was, watch videos, and more.

Leadership Denver

This year, the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation (DMCLF) marks the 35th Anniversary of its Leadership Denver program. To celebrate, DMCLF is profiling dozens of Colorado leaders who have participated in the program throughout its history.JohnstonWells developed a website to house the oral histories of the alumni, who are being profiled throughout 2009.

Both of these online promotional videos were shot over two days during the International Quilting Festival held this October in Houston. Blake Jackson produced each of these brief videos from roughly 270 minutes of footage. The videos will be shared with more than 500 BERNINA dealers as the 830 launches nationwide.
