As I mentioned on twitter (http://twitter.com/jonoson), the company I worked for is the company who claimed he can dance but never dance at all. Some of you might know what I implicitly mean. Not to mention, I'm not going to say the name for the self-protection purpose.

I always wantted to be a salesperson while spending two years on grepping advanced knowledge of business, trading, etc, in International Trade Institude. After graduated last June, the troublesome economy and labr market pushed me to face the reality of my technical background and personality. The chance of the Web Architect position was the best chance to earn the ticket into an global large corporate, where I still have the opportunity to use my language ability.

It is interesting at the beginning as the fact that it is about web, about my interest, and about my expertise. It is also about a motivation by which I could earn much more opportunities after having the experiences in such a global company.

[to be continued]

Flatron Tower

Flatron Tower, originally uploaded by Jonoson.

	Hahaha

Nancrede Family

In the north of the downtown of Indianapolis, Nancrede Family have lived there more than 30 years. If you look from the outside of the yard, you can't really see the house very clearly. The backyard is just like a forest.

Those are different views of the Nancrede's backyard. There is a colony like a cafe where people may sit outside, have some coffee, and enjoy a comfortable Saturday afternoon here.

Balmart and Sasha live in this house, too. They are Great Pyrenees, a kind of sheep dogs for guarding sheep in old times. Unfortunately, they never take bath, and they do live "IN" the house.

Balmart is drinking water from the pool.

David and Sally Nancrede are very kind and lovely people. "Chicago? Isn't it another big city in the US?" Yes, and no. Yes, Chicago is a big city, full of skyscrapers gathering in the Loop area. No, Chicago is not like other busy cities. It is clean, neat and comfortable.

The Bean of Chicago in the Millennium Park reflects the surrounding skyscrapers and myself, just like being in a painting. The Bean is made of steel, without a seal on the surface. I almost lost myself when I stood under the big bean and was surrounded by all the reflections. It was an amazing experience.

The sunshine of dusk reflected on the glass of buildings along the Chicago River, composed a sky mixed with pink and blue.

Most of the buildings in Chicago are built in 1900 or so. Therefore, many of the new buildings tend to be built resembling old style. The whole city produces a 20th century feelings but with modern skyscrapers and fancy status.

Chicago is beautiful, but not includes the part of subway and elevated trains. It is made in metal and steel. You will hear a huge noise if you walk under the elevated track, especially the turning corner. Mainly because it is built almost a hundred years ago, the old-fashion and noisy elevated train is not match the neat and organized city at all, a contrary of modern and history.

A public work of Picasso. And It is one of the fastest way to get drunk, I bet.

The game is for 2 players or 4 players by 2 teams. Each team take turns to throw the Ping Pong ball into one of the cups with beer in the opposite sides. If the ball get in one of the cup, the opposite team have to drink it. The first team who loses the cup the fastest is the loser. And then they have to drink all of the opposing cups of
beer.

"Get Fratty?"
well, it's another slang here but only for young people.
It means get crazy, get drunk, or have fun... And about Bender, just means the action of bending of something. So, Fender Bender is just what I got on the Pennsylvania Rd, at 41 St.

Here's what happened.

I was about to go out from the back yard of home, but the street in front, which is Pennsylvania Road, were packed by many cars, so I couldn't really see the coming cars from my left hand side. I moved the card slightly forward, then I accidentally bumped into another car, which drove by a lady. My bumper, which is also named fender but for old usage, was tore off by half of it.

The lady was really nice and kind, she kept saying "don't worry" to me, said the insurance companies would take care of the rest. The police officer came and took some note.

It was a bummer, which means the trivial annoying or sad things. Fortunately, we had insurances, and nobody got hurts, so I can still keep on my happy internship in Indianapolis.

What a bummered Fender Bender.

Indianapolis, the Crossroad of American

The Monument Circle stands in the middle of the Indianapolis for those who lost their lives for the freedom of this land. This is the downtown of Indianapolis. Not really busy, isn't it? It is one of the feature of the Indianapolis. The life style here is quite slow, relaxing and comfortable. Cars will always give the way to the pedestrians first, and people will greet to you if they make eye contacts with you. They say these only happens in Indiana, or other countryside in the US. In Chicago and New York City, it will be quite different.

The East side view from the City Country Hall. After that, I poured the half fried beef with all the ingredients back to the pot with the Stewing Spice Package which I brought from Taiwan and poured some wine for cooking. I boiled them by gentle fire for about half an hour, then poured some "Soy Sauce", which was prepared by my home-stay parents. ( I believed they got everything I need, instead of stowing spice. ) Later, with boiled needles, a pot of perfect beef noodle soup were just ready. Delicious.

It's interesting because they don't have big bowl for needle soup that we usually have in Taiwan. So we were served by that kinds of dishes. They said the soup are served by that.

Also I fried some cabbage, American Cabbage. It tasted a little hard and crispier than Taiwanese cabbage.

Could that be the present for Charlotte?

Oh, we got a cake for Charlotte. After surviving from air crash several years ago, he wrote a book about appreciating life and composed several songs by himself.

Silouan Green, the company, was established 7 years ago by Silouan, providing designing service including business card, web development as well as TV spot.

My supervisor, Matt Rogue, asked me to do telemarketing. I've called more than 200 calls for potential customers about the services we provide. In 40% to 50% of the calls I just gave voice mail and there are 10% of those I pretended to be one of their friend and found a solution for them. There are only 10 or so people really listened what I said and responsed. The rest of the calls were rejected by simply "not interested in" and being hang up.

There was one guy even telling me that he couldn't understand me because my broken English made it more difficult.

It was boring but challenging. Indianapolis

It's Neat!

It's a slang for good things in Indianapolis. Everybody says that.

I bought my prepaid card for my cellphone, costing me $37.10 for 140 minutes. I hope I can keep in 140 minutes for 2 months. Charlotte got worse. Her cellphone is for CDMA system in Taiwan, so her cellphone can't be fit with the sim card of T-Mobile here. After buying a new cellphone by $29.9, everything goes well.

Sally and David, my home stay parents, cooked riced with beef tonight. It was quite like Taiwanese Beef Stowed rice. Amazing.

David was a lieutenant in the army when he was in Vietnam. But no, he didn't kill anyone there, he built roads, bridges there.

I ordered a pair of seals with their names in Chinese on them.
