Friends!

I feel so blessed to be a part of the Gathering community. For the past few months we've been doing "Gospel Groups" every fourth Sunday night. In place of a sermon all 400 of break into groups of 2-4 and read a chapter of the Gospels together and then discuss what we feel God is revealing to us through a series of questions.
Friends! Many of you guys know that a few of us from the Gathering ventured off to Phoenix, AZ just s short week ago. I think I have concluded that I'll be going to Phoenix every February, if not just to thaw out from these Mid-West winters. This Southern boy is just not used to so much snow! It was wonderful to have a weekend's worth of dinners on sunny patios, wearing shorts and flip-flops. Spring can't get here fast enough.

Hey Friends! Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted a blog. Life has been happening at such a fast pace [tis' the season], but great things are happening. Many of you guys know that the Gathering has been going through some changes. Isaac, my long time friend and co-worker here is leaving us to pursue graduate school. We are all so proud of him, but we will miss him SO MUCH. In his absence I have become the point leader of the Gathering, so I've had my head buried in prayer a lot lately ...

Ladies and gentlemen, do not wait another minute...go to itunes, and buy an album called "Hope" from an artist by the name of Foy Vance. You will be stunned by the beauty and lyrical depth of this guys songs. Tonight Alissa and I sat in our study, listening to his songs....she curled up on my lap, and I was repeatedly on the brink of tears, just for the beauty of the moment. I'm serious...this guys got it. I'm doing you a favor...go buy this record. jon ...

Wow. I am sitting in the airport in Las Vegas waiting to board a flight home to KC, seeing the new look of jonshirley.com for the first time, and I think it looks pretty dang cool. My friends, Sean Berger and David Stetler have been working hard to get this new look up, so I want to publicly say a big thank you to them for all of thier hard work. I love it.

One of the features that we are all super stoked about on the "Music" page, is the listing of all of the charts to my songs. I have...
