Not a bad idea, I was using wordpress for a while until it all began to get messy. Plus I dislike the way to upgrade in wordpress when compared with the simplicity of upgrading with Joomla.

I eventually moved my blog site over to joomla, and in doing so tried out the idoblog component, myblog, and the lyftenbloggie component. However, in the end I reverted back to using the core article system within joomla, and installed jcomments. In addition, I’ve opted to use ACE’s seo as it feels cleaner, lighter and easier to use than sh404sef (which I do use on another joomla site I have). I’ve decided against using Tags for the time being, mainly because I like the layout of the template I’ve chosen and I don’t wish to mess it up (yet).

I think you will be making a great choice in moving your blog over to joomla, especially as it’s heading to 1.6 next year. I wish you the best and look forward to seeing your new look site when it’s complete.

Ps, I’ve omitted my site, as I do try to refraim from cheeky linkbacks.

Hi Dmitry (and all other who have problems with IE-8 showing up PDA template:
The solution is written in joomla forum http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=371889 by ddmobley: You just have to open the file "pdabot.php". In this you find the section "CheckAgent()", in an array: function CheckAgent() { $pdas = array(…..In the contribution above, there had been trouble with IE-7 and its special user agent string. If you have changed "nec" into "nec-" within the pdabot.php the problem with IE-7 was gone.For IE-8 problem, you will have to find out, which user agent string is used by IE-8. Then you can compare with the entries in the padbot.php and modify that entry, which is similar with the user agent string of the IE-8.Please post result here! Thanks.

Just installed Windows 7 which has IE8 have found that the PDA template becomes the default template if enabled when using IE8 have had to disable PDA plugin, please look into this. Firefox and Chrome work fine.

I installed this ages ago and all seemed to be fine but then I noticed that My popular of late box was empty. When I created a new page it appeared in the box. I then upped the period of novelty box to 2000 and they all appeared again.

It seems to only show pages that were created during the period of novelty period.

Is it just me?

Hi there

I would like to show the most popular articles of the week - so I assume that i set the Period Of Novelty to 7 (the default is 61). The problem is when i put in "7" nothing shows up…only by using 61 in the Period Of Novelty field do I get a list of articles. Please let me know how i can make it work for the past 7 days ONLY
