Phew... This time I am late for posting... Been super busy these few days, restless~~

Went Hengchun for a day trip last Saturday as we are BORED!

So, we took their offer and well... The portion is too little for this big appetite ME~

Phew... Just came back from the fieldtrip, had 2 dives. Both very low visibility(~1-1.5meters visibility) and 4 meter depth only. Collected samples and attached another 2 sets of acrylic plates there. We also collected water samples to test D/O.

Today, the diving master suddenly inform us that we will be going to dive in another hour but not tomorrow. Suddenly, suddenly, suddenly...

Today, we have finished the lighting setting for all 6 mesocosm tanks. VERY tiring. And one more shocking news(not about the 'Taiwan splitting to two prediction') but the missing of 4 buckets of corals.

As I do not have much to upload nor write about... Here's some shots for today's sunset.

It's SUNDAY!!I joined the other group of friends to Kenting National Park and ...(Stay tune) for the day. The whole journey is about 11 hours 20 mins.

National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium (NMMBA) the place I am currently having my industrial training. This is the first time entering it itself as all these while I am in the research centre instead.

Finally, we stepped out of NMMBA by ourselves to Kenting! =) Thanks to my senior, we manage to get the bus and reach Kenting in about 30 mins.

Today, thanks to my senior, as he brought me out to hunt for lunch and a little tour around Checheng county.

Ok, I know I look kinda silly with this helmet...

And why I say this is not a religious post is because the pictures below. Most of them are taken in an Taoist temple which is pretty famous there. That's a local 土地公 temple but it is damn huge (5 storey)! According to my senior, normally 土地公 temple is quite small as it only a representative of the city/county itself.

Hmm.. Today we got up really early to do our weekly task - monitor LiST for Anderson. LiST here stands for Light intensity, Salinity & Temperature(easier for me to remember).

First of all... It starts with breakfast of course!

My taiwan chicken floss roti canai with Soya...

One of my first task of the day... Take care of them...

I wonder what they are doing...

Well... My task(with Shereen) is not here to see what they are doing but make the living condition better.

They are digging for more stones...

Cleaning process, we flush the stones with sea water and remove unwanted unnatural items...

At the same time, we also removed half tank of water from the tank to ease our work in the tank.

We remove the horseshoe crab from the tank into a smaller container with sea water.

We wrapped the filter hose with gauze to prevent those little stones will get stuck..
Our supervisor here(On the right) said that it's too big...

So we make it smaller...

We ended up... with an empty stomach... FOOD again! Lunch!!~~

2nd task of the day,

Clean the tank... Remove the algae...

The tanks behind me are for mesocosm study...
We are there to assist them in setting up the tank with suitable temperature and light intensity..

2nd May 2011, from Kaohsiung to NMMBA

Today, we departed from the hotel around 6am in the morning. Took MRT from Houyi station to Kaohsiung main station followed by a cab to NMMBA. We actually wanted to take bus from Kaohsiung but we didn't manage to locate it >.<... And considering we are traveling in a group, the cost of a cab is actually same or slightly higher than getting into the bus. Here's some shots of the day.

Industrial Training at Taiwan!

Guess what I have encountered after Dato Lee marched into the final in All England Badminton Championship 2011 and during the EPL: Man Utd vs Arsenal 2:0?

I met a snake middle of the night at 2:40am in UKM!

I was driving my girlfriend back to her college, passed through the new route(from new FST building to Zaba) . I saw something long across the road and I thought it is just some fall stems or leaves. As I move nearer to it, I realized I was wrong, very wrong.

The length of the snake is longer than a lane as it covers the whole lane while its body is curly or twisted or bend which ever term that is correct. I can see clearly the diamond shaped pattern on its body. I do not know what species it is, but it is definitely huge.

My car just went passed(on top of it) it as it is too late for me to change to another lane or break. It's just like passing across a hump. After that, we actually wanted to see the snake again, clearly, we made a turn back to the area, but it had left.

If today happened to be 2 years back, when I do not own a car. What will happen to me, I really don't know.

It is my very first encounter with snake in UKM and its size is bigger than the one I encounter in recreational forest in Malacca. Just some advice to people in UKM or any other university, please be careful.
