At last, the wait is over. This is the moment we are all been waiting for. The very first time Stan Lee's magical creation will be interpreted on a film and will be along side all the MCU veterans such as Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) etc. Ladies and gentlemen, The Sanctum is finally open. After Stephen Strange, the world's top neurosurgeon, is injured in a car accident that ruins his career, he sets out on a journey of healing, where he encounters the Ancient One, who later becomes Strange's mentor in the mystic arts.

Hmmm everything is looking good so far but I have some reservations for Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One. I need some more convincing. Coming in cinemas on November 2016, Doctor Strange is from Marvel Studios to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.

Oh yes! Finally, Spidey is now on MCU. There are mix reactions but probably that is because of the video quality on youtube or facebook. Good thing we got a high resolution shot of Spidey and I'm completely sold. Click the image below for a closer look on details.

Pilipinas 2096 and Beyond: 3 Stars and a Sun

After the massive success of Rak of Aegis, I've been wondering if PETA just got lucky in mounting this monumental musical that spans several reruns. Of course they can do it over and over again but time will come, Rak of Aegis' glitter will soon fade. They need a new musical as big as Rak of Aegis. And when we say big, they need a big name for their material. And here comes 3 STARS and a SUN.

Based on the Original Pilipino Music from the legendary Master Rapper and Song Writer Francis Magalona comes a cautionary tale set decades in the future where Philippines is reduced into an isolated colony called StormDome. With the promise of safety and new beginnings, survivors of 2026 Nuclear War embraces the new life ahead of them.

Of course the main selling point of 3 Stars and the Sun is it catalogs one of the most celebrated OPM artist in the country. Francis M has been the voice of this generation ever since he started creating all of his composition. Themes about Love, Nature, Youth and Patriotism still resonates even after his untimely passing 7 years ago. Now, his masterpiece takes new shape in the form of PETA's latest musical offering that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Written by Mixcaela Villalon and Rody Vera, and Directed by Nor Domingo comes a musical that will wake everyone's patriotic hearts. The music is re-imagined by the award winning Musical Director Mike Salomon of the ground breaking Rak of Aegis. The ensemble of cast includes Paolo Valenciano, Gio Gahol, Nicco Manalo, Gold Villar, Che Ramos-Cosio, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, Bodjie Pascua, Raffy Tejada, Giannina Ocampo and Justine Pena to name a few.

Unlike Rak of Aegis, 3 Stars and a Sun is written explicitly with political colors. Rak of Aegis may also have some but it is carefully camouflaged by everyday sub plots that makes the whole story bearable to people who don't really enjoy themes that explore power and governance. But yes I get it, 3 Stars and a Sun's main point is to show what is the problem in the society. I don't see anything wrong about that, but it can definitely affect the show's viability because let's face it, majority of theater goers wants to be entertained first rather than give them a preachy plot. Either way one thing is for sure, 3 Stars and a Sun clearly expressed their message that if we don't do anything to change the system, History will keep on repeating itself in the coming years. It is an eye opener and definitely something not everybody will be comfortable to. Good thing the writer's injected some fun moments keeping the atmosphere as balanced as possible. Not to mention you will be treated with top of the line performances from industry greats that joins the cast.

My Initial Thoughts on DC's Legends of Tomorrow

I always start my reviews by saying how am I more drawn into Marvel than DC but now I'm very sure that I'm neither drawn to any in particular. I'm a comic lover so I love enjoying both worlds. Specially now that DC is slowly catching up with Marvel's Cinematic Universe. I strongly believe that DC can do something much better with their property's including a possible union of TV and Film franchise. Why did I think so? Well Legends of Tomorrow just convinced me that it is possible.

Just have the chance to see DC's Legends of Tomorrow a couple of days ago. For now I can't discuss spoilers but I'm at liberty to discuss anything that is already shown in the trailers and the backdoor pilot aired within The Flash and Arrow crossover episodes. If you haven't seen those episodes then beware.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow is the newest TV series from CW network that collects previously introduced characters from The Flash and Arrow TV series. Led by the Time Master Rip Hunter played by Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who), the team embarks on a magnificent journey aboard the Waverider into the Time and Space continuum hunting for the abominable Immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump).

Joining the team is master inventor Ray Palmer a.k.a. the Atom (Brandon Routh), the master assassin Sarah Lance who is now goes with the name White Canary (Caty Lotz), the tandem of Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) that forms Firestorm, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Leonard Snart a.k.a Captain Cold and his partner Mick Rory a.k.a. Heat Wave, the Egyptian Prince Carter Hall/Khufu (Falk Hentschel) and the Egyptian Priestess Kendra Sanders/Chay-Ara (Ciara Renee).

First of all I want to correct myself when I said a few months ago that Legends of Tomorrow is just like a Time traveling The Avengers. Now that I saw the first episode, I can confidently say that it is not. Of course it is still not on the league of The Avengers but DC's Legends of Tomorrow definitely caught my attention because of its premise of Time Travel. Now I'm not sure how far will the series flesh out the concept of Time and space because if it is just like The Flash then I will be a little disappointed. For me, to be different, they should center on that idea and with Time and Space on play, the series can open a lot of possibilities including the fan favorite clash of different DC universes from different universes (WB films, FOX, CBS). Doctor Who and other time traveling franchise fans will know this.

16 episodes seems too short but since they are still testing the waters, I will take it. I'm also thrilled to follow a series which is top-billed by lesser known DC characters, that way I'm not pressured to know everything about them in their comic counterparts. Feels very liberating.

As an artist, inspiration is an important element in the creation process. Whether it is a person, an object or an idea, it is the driving force that plants the seed that will bloom into another beautiful masterpiece. One common source of inspiration to artists are the media and what better media that can express and simulate an artists' senses are the movies or films.

In case you are confused, yes that is Doomsday. And it appears that Doomsday is none other than a reanimated Zod (Michael Shannon). Basically, Doomsday is a Kryptonian Zombie now. Am I happy about it? Honestly, I don't care that much of the changes from source material. No matter how fans object on these changes, studios still havethe final say. So I just wish, it will work for the best.

Marvel and Disney releases the first trailer for the next chapter on Marvel Cinematic Universe. Brace yourselves, here's the trailer of Captain America: Civil War.

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving Captain America and the Avengers results in collateral damage, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the Avengers, which results in the fracturing of the team while they attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.

This is so exciting and we also got the first look on Black Panther. The universe officially expands once again.

Bahay Trese Opens Door to Public

Ever since my childhood, I was never a big fan of Horror Houses. I don't believe supernaturals exist but still the idea of it scares me a lot. That is why when I'm invited to enter Bahay Trese, I hesitated at first. But when I heard that it has a different concept, it captures my curosity. In the end, they managed to convince me to enter the cursed ancestral house.

Worlds of Fun, Lightbulb Moments Entertainment and Philippine Educational Theater Association join forces to conceptualize this haunted attraction that aims to elevate haunted and horror house genre. So instead of having your typical haunted house, Bahay Trese is described as an interactive theater experience. Every room inside Bahay Trese tells the story of a family killed during the Japanese occupation. As you explore the house, you will see yourself immersed in carefully designed sets and excellent theater actors that can blur the lines between fiction and reality. The experience will definitely play with your imagination and fear.

If you will ask me to compare it to other haunted attractions before, I honestly can't say because, I've been avoiding horror houses since forever. But if there is one thing that I believe is different is that the whole process runs through a story. Thus every acts you will see inside are not just random scary acts but more of a performance that depicts an specific story. No doubt, commisioning PETA is the best idea in this project. Being known as one of the best makers of great talent, the PETA certified actors who will scare you inside the house knows how to pluck your strings and scare the hell out of you.

So how is the experience? Yes it is scary, it helps that we are at least 5 person in the room, if we are any lesser than that, I could have fainted inside. Also, as much as I want to pay attention for the narrative, I'm too scared to listen to what the characters are saying. The carefully lit rooms perfectly plays with the fear of the unknown where you will never know what will happen or where you will run next.

Alice Through the Looking Glass Teaser Trailer now Out

I could be one of those few who actually like Alice in Wonderland when it came out in the theaters five years ago. Because of the mix to bad feedbacks, I really thought Disney scrapped the idea of making it a franchise. Good thing now I don't need to worry about it because the follow up is finally here. Pictures’ 2014 success with the global reinvention of the Godzilla franchise, the companies have come together to create an epic, new shared cinematic franchise. All-powerful monsters become towering heroes for a new generation, revealing a mythology that brings together Godzilla and Legendary’s King Kong in an ecosystem of other giant super-species, both classic and new. Monarch, the human organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film, will expand their mission across multiple releases.

The announcement that the reinvention of monsters continues was made today by Legendary CEO, Thomas Tull and Kevin Tsujihara, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. The initial trio of films are 2017’s KONG: SKULL ISLAND, GODZILLA 2 in 2018 and then GODZILLA VS. KONG, arriving in theaters in 2020. While Legendary maintains its new home at Universal Pictures, the GODZILLA films remain in partnership with Warner Bros., who will now also distribute KONG as a part of this franchise. Production on KONG: SKULL ISLAND begins October 19th.

Warner Bros. and Legendary released Godzilla in May 2014 with an agreement to release Godzilla 2 on June 8, 2018. Both films feature the human Monarch organization. Shortly following Legendary’s pact with NBC Universal, Legendary acquired rights to additional classic characters from Toho’s Godzilla universe, including Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. This paved the way for developing a franchise centered around Monarch and anchored by Godzilla, King Kong, and other famous creatures.

When Legendary announced films centered on Godzilla and Kong, fans all over the world speculated these two characters might one day meet in the same film. Classic Toho monsters including King Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan, as announced at Comic-Con 2014, may also join the Legendary pantheon of giant monster mayhem going forward.

“Audiences really responded to Godzilla,” stated Tull. “Today, I’m excited to reveal that film was only the beginning of an epic new entertainment universe. As a lifelong fan of these characters, I’ve always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we’re pleased to be announcing that and more.”

In celebration of the Church of Christ's (Iglesia ni Cristo) Centennial foundation, and in partnership with Viva Entertainment comes a story about a man in search of the truth that led him to a great calling as God's last messenger. This is the story of the Church of Christ, this is the story of Felix Manalo.

Felix Manalo is a sprawling historical epic that traces the origins and growth of The Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo) that was officially established here in the Philippines from its humble begginings in 1914 to the present day. It is framed by the life of its first executive Minister, Felix Manalo, from the time of his birth in 1886 until his demise in 1963.

In the movie, Dennis plays the lead role of Ka Felix Manalo, Iglesiani Cristo’s first Executive Minister, while the gorgeous Bela Padilla plays the role of his wife, Ka Honorata.

Dennis and Bela are supported by over a hundred big stars, like Gabby Concepcion, Gladys Reyes, Jacklyn Jose, Snooky Serna, Lorna Tolentino, Richard Yap, Dale Baldillo and more.

“Felix Manalo” was skilfully directed by the multi-award-winning director, Joel C. Lamangan (Filipinas). It was shot for 58 days over a period of eight months with only the best and well-respected names in the local film production scene doing tedious work to ensure world-class quality.

So just in case you are one of those who hit the sack early last night and missed this monumental release from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment. Here comes the new trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice with first footage of Wonder Woman. Watch it after the jump.

I'm more of a Marvel guy but this trailer just gave me all the shivers. If this translates perfectly to the final product, I will not be ashamed to say that DC is catching up really fast even with just 2 movies on their Cinematic Universe. A Tale of Heroes, Love and Power: Kung Paano ako Naging Leading Lady

Carlo Vergara has been known for his funny, romantic and equally heroic alter ego Zaturnnah that conquered the whole nation from print media, stage and full length features. Once, Carlo is the face of a light and endearing face of LGBT community through his creation inspiring Love and Laughter to everyone. And suddenly here comes "Kung Paano ako Naging Leading Lady" that changes the game all together.

First released as a straight one act play in CCP's Virgin Lab fest, Vergara's "Leading Lady" tells an unlikely story of two sisters as they struggle to live their lives on a world where superheroes are new celebrities in town. A total departure from Vergara's signature pink comedy comes a dark tale of Heroes, Villains, Family, Love and Power.

When Vince De Jesus (Musical's Musical Director and Composer) said "Leading Lady" is dark, I didn't expect it is THAT dark. With "Leading Lady", it may first look like an ordinary Superhero inspired play/musical but behind is a picture of rotten reality of the Pinoy Society carefully chronicled by Vergara. "leading Lady" is definitely a breath of fresh air and at the same time it tortures you with images of the society's flaws. But then again the play/musical didn't fail to give the laughs and "kilig" moments that balances everything out.

You will also be treated with a superb set of performers. Bituin Escalante as Mely is so lovable and funny. She is like a teddy bear you see in a store and suddenly you want to buy her and bring her home. Bituin is so cute on this role that I really enjoy watching her every single scene. Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo on the other hand steals the spotlight with her heroic performance (and killer abs) as Fuerza Filipinas' leader Madre De Dios which is a complete departure to most of the roles she already played in the past. And of course the performance that brought the house down, Nar cabico as Senior Blanco is hands down my favorite. Among others that need recognition are Kakki Teodoro as the Computer AI of Fuerza Filipinas who delivers a lot of good laughs without really trying to be funny, Markki Stroem who plays Leading Man whom shown how far is his improvement on his acting skills and Giannina Ocampo as the vulnerable Nena Babushka.

If there is one thing that I don't really like is the straight English parts. Well I know the characters are suppose to be foreigners but still they are Superheroes based in the Philippines. The least I expect is them speaking in Tagalog-English. Personally I believe it kills some momentum and dynamics between characters when they are communicating.

Lastly, the musical is nothing without the Music. Though Vince De Jesus openly admits that the songs and music he created are less inspired, the end product still came out as a masterpiece. That only shows De Jesus' skill level. If he can make an epic soundtrack without inspiration, then imagine what he can do with one.

If you like a fun musical, "Leading Lady" is definitely for you. Just don't expect this as another Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah. I can see this Musical's big potential. If Zaturnnah can conquer movies why not "leading Lady". I already have ideas for the cast. Its gonna be epic!!! "Kung Paano ako naging Leading Lady" the Musical is closing this weekend (June 4-7). Now I'm definitely in for this movie. I'm not even complaining how many times the movie is being pushed for a later date. If it is for the good of the film then so be it. First Look: Nightcrawler in X-Men Apocalypse

The camera just started rolling for the production of the next X-Men Movie, X-Men: Apocalypse. Bryan Singer is more than excited to share things from the set but one stood amongst the other, the first look on Kodi Smit-McPhee as the Mutant Teleporter Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler. Nightcrawler became an instant hit ever since his debut on the franchise in X2:X-Men United with the actor Alan Cumming. But due to some internal problems, Cumming didn't return in Last Stand and Kurt's lovable character is shelved until they decide to include him once again in X-Men Apocalypse. But of course this is the 80's so Cumming can't play Kurt so instead a younger actor is chosen in Kodi Smit-Mcphee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).

I'm so happy with this first reveal. Being one of the most agile X-Men, we expect that Nightcrawler will be getting some awesome fight scenes. That is what makes him an instant favorite back in X2. So I hope we get the same amount of action for him. Let's hope for the best.
