New Trailer for The Wolverine Reveals Jean Grey Cameo and Silver Samurai

The last trailer for The Wolverine left me confused and underwhelmed with the plot they are trying to tackle. For me the depowered angle of the story is quite cloudy and inconsistent. Now 20th Century Fox released a new trailer with new set of footage. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Ok this trailer really looks good. The fight scenes are awesome and that is what I really expect since the film is set in Japan. I also like how Silver Samurai is interpreted in this movie. Everything looks good so far but one thing that really makes me shake my head in utter disappointment is Jean's cameo. I know that it is the only way she can appear in the movie that makes sense since she is already dead but I just feel that the writer can do something better than that. For me it is a big waste of talent fee.

20th Century Fox Unveils Rio 2 Teaser Trailer

I was watching a movie this mornign when this trailer pops out on my 3D glass. 20th Century Fox revealed the very first teaser for the animated Sequel Rio 2. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Rich with grandeur, character, color and music, RIO 2 finds Jewel (Anne Hathaway), Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and their three kids leaving their domesticated life in that magical city for a journey to the Amazon. They encounter a menagerie of characters who are born to be wild, voiced by Oscar nominee Andy Garcia, Oscar/Emmy/Tony-winner Rita Moreno, Grammy winner Bruno Mars, and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth.

I enjoyed the teaser so much. I would be glad if RIO will remain partially musical because if there is one thing I really like about the first one is the musical numbers. But one thing that caught my attention is the change of setting. i get it, they need to show new things and that includes a new setting. Maybe it is just me but I find it weird that movies titled with a name of a place and they are not on that location is a little bit off to me. But setting that aside, Blu and his Family moving to Amazon is indeed another step for the Rio franchise. I hope everything works well.

Opening in April 2014, Rio 2 will be distributed by 20th Century Fox through Warner Bros.

Latest Turbo Trailer Reveals a Mutated Snail

The first time I saw Turbo's teaser, it is interesting enough to catch my attention. Having a snail who can race is pretty cool. But after watching this new full lenth trailer, it reveals something more interesting. Watch it and see it for yourself.

From the makers of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, Turbo is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.

So the snail got into an accident that gives his super speed powers. Much like most of the superheroes we know. Though we all know that a Snail could have died after being exposed to Nitrous oxide, I'm still willing to ignore scientific inaccuracies and enjoy this movie.

And I just want to say, that poster is one hell of a pun. Thumbs up. Opening in cinemas on July 19, to be distributed by 20th Century Fox through Warner Bros.

Sony Pictures Officially Announces Angry Birds Animated Feature Film

Didn't really crossed my mind but it is already official. The popular mobile game Angry Birds will soon hit the silver screen. Here is the official release from Sony Pictures.

CULVER CITY, Calif., May 15, 2013 – Sony Pictures Entertainment has won the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the eagerly anticipated Angry Birds animated film, making it one of the most high-profile deals of the year. The 3D film is being developed, produced, and financed by Rovio Entertainment and will be released worldwide by Sony Pictures on July 1, 2016. Several major studios pursued the global film rights in recent weeks, with Sony Pictures Entertainment emerging as the winner.

Michael Lynton, Chairman & CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Amy Pascal, Co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Entertainment jointly announced their partnership today. John Cohen and David Maisel – producer of Despicable Me and executive producer of Iron Man, respectively – are both on board for the new Angry Birds feature film. Cohen will serve as producer and Maisel is executive producer.

Commenting on the announcement, Mikael Hed said, “Sony impressed us with their great attitude, determination, and professionalism. They convinced us that we have found the right partners and team to help us market and distribute our first motion picture. Angry Birds is one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises, starting in 2009 with the original mobile game that remains the number one paid app of all time. Angry Birds has expanded rapidly into entertainment, publishing, and licensing to become a beloved international brand.

Angry Birds has been praised for its great value and simple, casual gameplay. The closest thing I really expect for Angry Birds is a TV series but who am I to disagree that these feathered gang may bring serious box office for Sony. Pacific Rim Main Trailer Reveals More Manila Footage

Remember when a viral footage is released a couple of months ago? Warner bros. revealed that Manila will make a cameo in the film. But with the latest trailer released, it looks like Manila could be part of something bigger in the film's plot and we may see some Manila footage. Watch the trailer after the jump.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Ok for the sake of those who can't view the video, the second Kaiju incident is in Manila. This is during those time that the Jaeger program is still not in commission. It is possible that we will see Manila in the movie being destroyed by the giant monsters. Now in what matter, I don't know. Probably most footage will be on a news format or just on some quick video snippets or flashbacks.

as if that TV frame don't look 3rd world enough

I know they didn't really shoot anything in Manila and probably they just digitized the whole scenes but still I'm quite excited to see how accurate will they portray Manila.

On the other note, this trailer is so action packed that I'm worried that they are showing too much and won't leave anything for the final movie. I can say that I can consider this as the final trailer. I'm already convinced Warner Bros.

Agents of SHIELD Full Trailer Reveals Timeline and Main Series Plot

So fans are debating whether Agents of SHIELD is set after or before The Avengers. Now all that questions will come to an end as this new full trailer reveals that the series is set after the events of the battle of New York. Also it somehow reveals the series main plot. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Of course, it is all about tracking super powered beings hidden among ordinary people. It is actually what is expected. But is it the only thing that SHIELD will tackle on the show. Well possible that there would also be crime solving that involves this enhanced beings. So you have the procedural part of it but then again, SHIELD have more advance machinery (Thanks to Stark) that those forensic scene would be highly out of ordinary.

And finally I have the feeling that the Mystery of Coulson's survival from the Loki Attack will be kept for several episodes. I really hope it will be something more complicated than the Android thing going on the internet. It is a good idea but too predictable. I hope this show will not disappoint us.

New Face of Darkness: Star Trek Into Darkness Movie Review

I was never a Trekkie in my life. Never saw a single Star Trek Episodes from the orignal series and maybe a couple of episodes and movies from the later spinoffs but again never become a hardcore fan. But thanks to J.J. Abrams, he brought back this classic, reinvented it and make it appeal to new audience.

I still have doubts about the franchise after I saw the first film in 2009. But it did open my mind and interest to another genre. I surprisingly discovered my repressed love on Science Fiction. One thing that the first movie introduced to the new franchise is that this new movies are a little bit of a sequel and prequel to the original series and movies for it is actually an altered history of the Star Trek universe, a concept both applaud and frowned by some Trekkies.

That same concept is once again utilized on "Into Darkness". Without giving up a lot of details "Into Darkness" features another classic iconic Star Trek film (that I won't mention because it will give up a lot of spoilers). Benedict Cumberbatch as former star fleet officer Harrison stole the spotlight. Like most of his fans (from Sherlock) expected, Benedict offered a stunning performance as this film's primary Villain. His dynamics with the existing cast is flawless.

I also like how the whole movie focused on the Harrison case than giving a lot of air time for the existing characters. One thing I won't expect from feature films because the common exercise is to tell a story around the existing characters and leads. Into the Darkness did the opposite. This kind of storytelling can be seen more often on TV series and I like it that the film's writers gambled on this type of story telling. Having said that, the only damage that story telling made is it makes the audience hungry for more because after seeing the movie, it only feels like watching a TV special where you can see the next episode in just weeks not years.

Though not given a lot of highlights, I can say that the ensemble of the existing cast did pretty well on their respective roles. Again my favorite among all of them is Simon Pegg who plays Scotty. Pegg's eccentric banters never fail to entertain me and it almost broke my heart when I thought he will be gone on this movie. Thanks god it is just for a couple of scenes (scumbag writers!). Many people hates Chris Pine's performance but I believe that this film is a big improvement for him. The same with Zachary Quinto who delivered another excellent job as Spock. Lastly I thank the writers that they brought Carol Marcus on the image of Alice Eve. Never really like Uhura (Zoe Saldana) so it is a breath of fresh air to have another hot and beautiful actress on board the Enterprise.

All in all, Star Trek Into Darkness is an entertaining ride. Probably to some it lacks spectacle but with a great story telling and a solid cast, the film definitely deserves everybody's attention specially if you are a Science Fiction aficionado. Opening in May 16, Star Trek Into Darkness is distributed by Solar Entertainment through United International Pictures Philippines.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD officially Picked Up, First Promo Released

Agents of Shield is officially picked up by ABC and series promotions started pouring down. Marvel releases first cast photos confirming Clark Gregg's return as the suppose to be dead Phil Coulson.

Joining Clark are Chloe Bennet as Skye, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Ming-na Wen as Agent Melinda May and Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward.

I'm really excited to know how will they explain Coulson's survival after being attacked by Loki in Avengers. I'm definitely expecting the unexpected. Also curious what will the series be all about. Will they be tackling science related events, super-powered sightings or will they just feel in the blanks of Marvel Cinematic Universe? Can't wait to see that Pilot. Opening soon on ABC Network. Fast and Furious 6 Manila Red Carpet with Cast and Director is Not Canceled

Last Thursday, Bandila releases a statement about the cancellation of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano, Luke Evans together with Producer Neal Moritz and Director Justin Lin's Manila appearance for Fast and Furious 6. But contrary to what is suppose to be a reliable news, Julius Babao is just assuming something that is not confirmed because the event is still on and will push through on May 15 according to Solar Entertainment, Fast and Furious 6 distributor in the Philippines. Watch the said announcement of Julius Babao below.

But after Julius Babao's attention is called upon by some fellow bloggers, he immediately complied to the correction. Not sure though how he corrected himself since I didn't saw the news last night.

The issue here is, do Journalists tend to release information that are not confirmed? I know that it is an entertainment news, but I will expect that from entertainment reporters not from top journalists such as Julius Babao. On that moment, it is like Babao is grandstanding. It is like "i have this information and you don't" moment for him. Just a big disappointment for the local news and public affairs industry.

Warner Bros. Releases First Teaser for Alfonso Cuaron's "Gravity"

Finally, Warner Bros. reveals the first look on the Science Fiction Drama a lot of people have been talking for months now. The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney who are trapped in space after an accident that left them drifting just outside the planet. Watch the teaser trailer to see a sneak peek of the film.

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

A lot of people including some in the industry have been hyping about this film. Who would not? I guess when we heard a movie with George Clooney on it, we automatically think that it is good. True enough George don't really choose films with mediocre flavor. Thing that I can't say the same with Sandra Bullock. According to the teaser, my first impression of the film is it is like "127 hours", the difference is the setting is in outer space. For now some details are still not clear. We will just have to wait for the full trailer.

Opening in US on October 4, 2013, Gravity is to be directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men) and to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Fast and Furious 6 Cast Set to Grace Manila Premiere on May 15

Before, when we said we have a premiere night of a Hollywood film here in Manila, a lot of people raises eyebrows for we are giving them a misleading statement. True enough, how can a premiere night be a premiere night without at least one of the cast. Maybe it is just a dream to expect Hollywood stars grace our local "advance screenings" for they are probably super busy to accommodate Manila. But sometimes dreams are meant to come true as the cast of Fast and Furious 6 is coming in country for the grand Premiere Night for the Philippine audience in SM Mall of Asia on May 15.

It has been already a rumor last year that the cast is coming here but since most of us are in doubt, we don't really expect too much so that we will not be disappointed. But here we are confirming the attendance of cast for the Manila red carpet premiere. Joining us are Vin Diesel (Dom Toretto) and Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz). Joining the two Fast and Furious veterans are Gina Carrano (Haywire) and Luke Evans (The Immortals). Also on the entourage are Fast and Furious 6 Producer Neal Moritz and Director Justin Lin.

Too bad we will not see Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Sung Kang for they will be joining other red carpet premiere across the world. Also I'm still wishing that Jason Statham will join this Manila Premiere. Definitely crossing my fingers.

Thanks to the awesome people of comicbookmovie.com, we got the first look on the full costume of Spider-man on Amazing Spider-man Sequel. See the images below.

Saw some posts earlier on my friend's facebook but they are not as clear as this. I think I'm liking this much better and I'm so happy that The Spider-man we all know is back and in my opinion is much better with those comic book accurate eye pieces.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 is set to premiere next year, to be distributed by Sony Pictures.

Resorts World's Cinderella Revealed: Karylle Tatlonghari

Just got an update about Resorts World's Cinderella the Musical. Joining Christian Bautista who's playing Prince Christopher is his long time partner in crime -- Karylle Tatlonghari.

Though I'm not really doubting Karylle's skill in acting, I can't help but be underwhelmed with the cast choice. Karylle and Christian has been working as a tandem ever since West Side Story and recently they did two more projects with The Kitchen Musical and Rama Hari, I just feel that they are relying on their comfort zones while RW is becoming too safe. But despite what I feel, I'm still looking forward to see this musical because it is my favorite among all the Rodgers and Hammerstein works.

Also joining Karylle and Christian as Alternates are Fred Lo and Justine Peña. Fred is known from his breakthrough performance from 9 Works Theatrical's Rent as Mark Cohen while Justine is first introduced in Professional theater through Repertory Philippines' Camp Rock. Both are now co stars on a Rock Musical based in Sugarfree music titled Sa Wakas.

Looking forward to hear more about the show. Cinderella is set to premiere in Newport Performing Arts Theater in September 2013. Stay tuned for more updates.

Thor: The Dark World Trailer Now Online!!!

After the reveal of the first poster, Walt Disney and Marvel Studios releases the very first trailer for Thor: The Dark World. Watch the video after the jump.

Marvels "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvels "Thor" and "Marvels The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

I'm glad that Jane Foster and Loki are back (played by Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston respectively). I'm definitely intrigued with that scene where Jane is being hostaged by Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). And Loki is looking good. Not really the look I'm expecting from a prisoner.

Thor: The Dark World is indeed a different animal from its predecessor. Definitely darker and has this medieval feel on it. The cosmic vibe of the first movie seems to be toned down making it more grounded to meddle age sensibilities. Think of Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings. Not really sure if that is a good idea. I guess only time can tell.

Been seeing these updates about 300: The Rise of an Empire for weeks now but this is the first time I will post something about it. Now just minutes ago, Warner Bros. released official materials online including some portraits of the leads. It is time to get acquainted to the film's front liners. Here are they.

Sullivan Stapleton as Themistokles

Walking the line between savvy statesman and battle-hardened soldier, this Greek general has no illusions about what motivates men, kings or gods. He knows well how the game is played.

First Look: Thor the Dark World Poster

Good morning everyone. Just got up to drink some water but unexpectedly I'm sent straight here in front of my desktop when I found out that Disney releases the first poster for Thor: The Dark World. So here it is.

Also mark your calendars since Thor: The Dark World's Trailer is coming a lot earlier than expected. It will be released April 23, a day earlier than the international release of Iron Man 3. Opening in US on November 8, 2013, Thor: The Dark World is from Marvel Studios, distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.

New Man of Steel Trailer Reveals New Footage

Warner Bros. released a new trailer for Man of Steel debuting new footage featuring more Kryptonians. Watch the trailer after the jump.

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

The trailer looks good but there is something inside me that worries a lot for this movie. Can a very serious take of Superman really work? Maybe we will find it out for ourselves as the movie premieres on June 14, 2013 to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Bryan Singer Teases Iceman for X-Men Days of Future Past

Before you get excited, Singer didn't really revealed Iceman's exact appearance but rather a hint to something really COOL... literally. Again he teased it on his twitter account. See the post below.

Yep that's Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake aka Iceman with some visual effects motion capture markers on his face. It looks like we will see him in Ice form like what he did in X-Men Last Stand. But just by looking on this photo, it is not clear if he will turn his clothing into ice. So we may assume that he will be wearing something and Ice all over underneath it. The Hangover III Full Trailer Now Out

Warner Bros. released the official full trailer for The Hangover 3. More plot details are revealed and it looks like we will see something epic for the finale. Watch the trailer after the jump.

This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

Directed by Todd Phillips, the film reunites Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha as Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug. Returning to the ensemble are Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor and, as the guys’ long-suffering wives, Gillian Vigman, Sasha Barrese and Jamie Chung. John Goodman joins the cast as well.

According to this trailer, the Wolf Pack will be in grave danger once again thanks to Chow (Ken Jeong), Phil (Cooper), Alan (Galifianakis), Doug (Bartha) and Stu (Helms) are hunted by a Mafia leader (Goodman) because of some stolen money. The whole group is now back in vegas for one last adventure on this Franchise. Ok, last time I'm still doubting but with this trailer I'm already completely sold. Now I'm really excited to see this last Hangover film. What about you?

We've heard months ago that Tatsunoko Japan and Nikkatsu Corp is developing a live action film based on the well loved Science Ninja team Gatchaman. Well now we got the chance to see a teaser including a first partial look on the costumes.

DC Cinematic Universe Starts in Man of Steel According to WB President

To silence all rumors and speculations, Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov reveal the plans for the proverbial DC Cinematic Universe and sadly Nolan is not part of it. Here is his statement through Entertainment Weekly:

"It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward, In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. Nolan's Dark Knight series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."

So it is now final. Man of Steel is the start of the much awaited film universe for DC. And now it is also confirmed that The Dark Knight is out of the plan. There is no mentions about Green Lantern but I assume that because it is a big failure, they might just scrap it and start all over again.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Starts Production + New Costume Teaser

Last Monday, Captain America: The Winter Soldier starts production with the release of first press release and concept Artworks. The production started in Los Angeles, California and with some other locations like Cleaveland, Ohio and Washington D.C. read the offiicial Press release below.

BURBANK, Calif. (April 8, 2013) – Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release, “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated release, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has commenced in Los Angeles, Calif., with production also including locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington D.C.

Directing the film is the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.

Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” returns Chris Evans as the iconic Super Hero character Steve Rogers/Captain America, along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. In addition, film icon Robert Redford has joined the all-star cast as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release in the U.S. on April 4, 2014.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc.

Rounding out the talented cast are Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp as Agent 13 and Maximiliano Hernández as Agent Jasper Sitwell.

Marvel Studios’ upcoming release schedule this year includes “Iron Man 3” on May 3 (April 24 in the Philippines), and “Thor: The Dark World” on November 8. Also as a treat, people from comicbookmovie.com releases the first concept artwork for Captain America's new costume.

Just like the first artwork released from The First Avengers and The Avengers, we got an almost identical pose which I believe is intentional to conceal some parts of the costumes specially the front view. So far the costume looks much better from that on The Avengers. Beyond that, I'll decide to reserve further judgement until a full frontal is released.

First Look: new Look for the Beast in X-Men Days of Future Past

Bryan Singer gave us another sneak peek on the production of X-Men Days of Future Past. He revealed a photo (or artwork) featuring a close up shot for the new look of Hank McCoy aka Beast played by Nicholas Hoult. Se the image after the jump.

And here's a composite that I made by mirroring the existing image to the other side of the face.

Looks like Singer is scrapping the feline look and going on a more humanoid form. We all know that Beast becomes more cat looking during the Astonishing X-Men run but we know that his classic ape form is still the best form and the most lovable one. We got a taste of that form in X-Men Last Stand and that is probably one of the good points of that failed sequel.

First Full Trailer for Carrie Remake Looks too Awesome than Scary

Sony Pictures finally released first full trailer for Carrie Remake. Watch the trailer after the jump.

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Looks like this remake is steering away from what the material should feel like. I'm not a bit scared of the movie. In fact I think it is too bad ass. It is like I'm watching a science fiction gone wild. Think of 20th Century Fox's Chronicle. Chloe and Julianne are both good actresses but I have the feeling that they are being dragged on a wrong path. Don't get me wrong, I'm still willing to see this and probably just give it the benefit of the doubt but I can't hide the fact that I'm really worried for this remake.

Now opening on October 2013 (or later on local releases), “Carrie” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters Teaser Trailer Now Online

I'm really having two hearts over this movie but with this new trailer, it looks like 20th Century Fox learned so much from the faults of first movie. See it for yourself and watch the trailer below.

Based on the publishing phenomenon, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS continues the young demigod’s epic journey to fulfill his destiny. To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.

Pierce Brosnan is out of the cast and replaced for the role of Chiron. But I'm happy that the movie will now have Stanley Tucci as Dionysus and Nathan Fillion as Hermes, Luke's (Jake Abel) Olympian father. With this two fella, I'm definitely giving this movie a chance. Also judging all the footage they showed us, it looks like they are putting it on the next level. I remember before that I'm so underwhelmed by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. But as the franchise progressed, the films got better and better. I hope we can say the same with the Percy Jackson series. Let's hope for the best.
