I the Lord do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.
“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’ “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:6-11

Churches you can’t afford to not be blessed by the Lord. Your church needs to be a giving force. Preach heart change!

Those that call themselves Christ-followers. You can’t afford to not be blessed by the almighty and not be giving back 10%.

Money is never our focus, BUT giving gauges the heart!

Today is my birthday (actually today is the 23rd, but you’ll be reading this the 24th). The big 2-5. As a another year passes by I thought it would be a good idea to look back on the past one.

This time last year I pulled the plug to plant Ridgepoint Church. Life got hard and I gave up. I did the exact opposite of what I teach others to do. I preach keep pushing through, keep giving it your all, and don’t give up. God gave you this vision; you’re called to fulfill it. Yet, I threw in the towel. I gave up. I struggled weeks in making that decision and the second I made it… I regretted it. Thinking about it now brings back pain, brings back feelings of failure and feelings of a void in my heart. God gave me a vision and I questioned that vision.

I’ve been able to work outside the church environment this year and it has been invaluable in creating a heart for the lost, for those that haven’t meet Jesus. He has taught me to care about people more than I care about myself. He has taught me to see people with His eyes and not with my judgment. He has stretched me in His Word and created a place of importance in my life. Not just for reading, but for living and heart change.

As I look back, though this year was uneventful, I stand in awe of how much my God can do in one’s life. I am the man I am today, because of Jesus. He has changed my heart this year to truly love God and love people. Not letting it be just lip serve, but making it my life. Because the reality is, I suck as a human being. I’m selfish and care more about my evil desires than I do of Godly things. I’m a sinner, focused on self. Yet, He loved me anyways. He changed me. He saved me. And I can’t take any credit for any of it, because without Jesus I would still suck. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my moments, but He saved me from this life. He has made my life full, because of His glory. So I worship Him!

Folks, I know Jesus. I’m a blessed man because I can say that. Not a lot can, but I am going to do my best and change that.

This year, my 25th year, is going to be a big one, an exciting one, because I know Jesus and He knows me. Because I am ready to follow where ever He leads (more on that to come soon).Similar Posts:

As you read though the Gospels for the account of Jesus’ ministry on earth. There is on thing that you’lI noticed over and over again. Jesus performed many miracles (I can’t spell, it took me eight tries before the spell check could tell I was typing “miracles”), healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out demons.

Matthew 8:5-13, is the account of a Centurion’s faith. Jesus said to him, “I will go and heal him” when the centurion asked Jesus to heal his servant. The Centurion’s response I couldn’t figure out, well I couldn’t figure out why Jesus had the response He had to the Centurion.

The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

The Centurion had faith that Jesus’ power was much bigger than he could see. He realized that Jesus could heal anyone at any time with them being present or not.

Now I tell you all that to tell you this: Jesus healed people, not crowds. Crowds of people were around him at all times, Jesus could of just as easily waved His hand over the crowd and heal all the people in one gesture. But He chose to care for the individual. Because He offered more than just healing, He offered life, He chose to impact people on an individual basis.

How does that affect you on a daily basis? We’re not here to just help people. We aren’t here to just love people. We are here to help people meet Jesus!Similar Posts:

An excerpt from his talk: Now comes the first follower with a crucial role: he publicly shows everyone how to follow. Notice the leader embraces him as an equal, so it’s not about the leader anymore – it’s about them, plural. Notice he’s calling to his friends to join in. It takes guts to be a first follower! You stand out and brave ridicule, yourself. Being a first follower is an under-appreciated form of leadership. The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader. If the leader is the flint, the first follower is the spark that makes the fire.

The 2nd follower is a turning point: it’s proof the first has done well. Now it’s not a lone nut, and it’s not two nuts. Three is a crowd and a crowd is news.
