These guys are awesome! I love that they have tons of fun together just doing random stuff. Like, sitting on this planter box? Loving it. Racing up a set of sidewalk stairs? Ok! Even on the roof of my building it was fun and Josh doesn’t like heights. Plus, you guys have no idea how excited Talar got when we drove by the painted ladies (Full House houses) along Alamo Square Park. Imagine a teen girl at a Justin Bieber concert. Josh says, “oh that? That’s about a 7.” Me: “What does a 10 look like then?” Talar: “this, plus tears.” Looking forward to level 10 excitement at their wedding down in Santa Barbara this month :)

An Alcatraz Engagement

I am SO excited to share these Alcatraz engagement photos with you all! Not only is Alcatraz Island a cool spot that I had never shot at before, but it was for my cousin, Aaron, and his girl, Michaela! So stoked! They came up to San Francisco to visit and celebrate Aaron’s sister, Hanna’s birthday with my brother, DK, and Roxy. It was really cool that we were all there to see Aaron propose to Michaela. It was the perfect day!

Fort Point Wedding Photos

I had the pleasure of being able to take some wedding portraits at Fort Point for my friends Matthias and Heather. They actually got married 4 years ago, but were never satisfied with their original photos. So Heather jumped back into her dress and Matthias threw on his suit and we took some new wedding photos out at Fort Point. It’s a really cool view being underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, and it made for some classic San Francisco wedding portraits. Matthias loves outdoor photos in nature, so we went to the Presidio and took some photos in a cluster of trees after our time at Fort Point as well. Being able to do this session for Matthias and Heather was also sweet because Matthias has become an amazing wedding photographer and a great friend of mine- he also shot MY wedding- so it will be nice for them to have some fun photos finally. Lindsay and Marc’s Napa Reception

After getting married in the South of France this summer, Lindsay and Marc had a California wedding reception at Paraduxx Winery in Napa. This was a really cool way of being able to celebrate their marriage with a larger group of family and friends since they couldn’t all make it out to France for the wedding. I love all of the details that were put together by Lindsay, Marc, Lisa, Al and other helpers- like the floral arrangements they put together using local seasonal flowers. The flower arrangements were also housed in unique silver vessels that Lisa had been collecting for months in advance. Lindsay and Marc letterpress printed their own invitation suite for the event, as well as labels for bee’s wax candle wedding favors (that they poured themselves). Amazing, right? It’s like the spirit of DIY, but the execution of seasoned professionals. Oh yeah, as one of the winemakers at Paraduxx, Marc also helped make the wine for the evening. After spending a week in France with the Myers/Bregante families this summer, I knew this event was going to be next level awesome though. Enjoy.

Point Lobos Engagement Photos

I had a blast getting to hang out with Kerrie and Jake at Point Lobos for their engagement photos. Such an amazing location! Point Lobos is just south of Carmel heading towards Big Sur on HWY 1. It has fields, mountains, rocky beach, and mossy pine trees; a true California gem… I probably could have shot there all day if it didn’t get dark. I was glad that we were able to get a few photos with their adorable dog, Odin, as well. Seriously an awesome afternoon you guys.

Christmas Tree Hunting

We went Christmas tree hunting last weekend with the Rileys at Santa’s Tree Farm and Village. It was really fun finding a tree, cutting it down, and carrying it out to the car. It’s funny how you start getting really picky when there are that many options though. We would look at beautiful trees and then say that the top was a little thin, or it was too wide, too small, too big, ect. And there are so many different species of Christmas tree… Eventually, we found the perfect tree! This might become a new tradition for us to get our tree at Santa’s Tree Farm in Half Moon Bay. Do you have any Christmas traditions? I took these photos on my new Canon 1V 35mm film camera with Kodax Gold MAX 400 film.
