Another Fathers Day Giveaway from Droid-Life!

Yesterday I posted about a fathers day giveaway that Droid-Life was hosting where the winner of the contest would win a AT&T Optimus G Pro by LG. Today they are hosting yet another giveaway. Todays giveaway gives you the chance to win an ASUS Nexus 7 32gb from Google, as well as a matching dock and a case to keep in looking good. As much as I would have loved to win the phone that was up for win (read my previous post and you'll know why), I would also love to be the lucky winner of Nexus contest. I currently do not have a tablet and when I am able to purchase one my choice would either be the Nexus 7 or the Nexus 10, I personally have not owned a Nexus device yet but love the idea of having a device that is open and not held back by bootloader locking ect. After logging into Twitter today I noticed that one of my favorite Android sites had posted Fathers Day giveaway. They are offering a chance to win an AT&T Optimus G Pro by LG. I've decided to try my luck with winning this and have entered in every way. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and win! The wife may not be thrilled if I do (another gadget to play with, she'll love that) but my daughters would love for daddy to have a nice big screen on his phone when they play games on it! Daddy will also be happy to replace his HTC One X due to the screen being cracked with a layer of box tape laid over it, it does need to retire!

Just a quick update on something that I forgot to mention here, both the Back Track and Paint Pad apps have been uploaded to the Google Play Store. Download links have been updated on the downloads page and you can also search for "SourTap Mobile" in the market to find the 2 apps and any other apps/games that I end up publishing. Also, keep an eye out in the Google Play Store for a BETA release of Evil Toast in the near future!

Bought a new computer today. Should be starting to work on Evil Toast again soon. I'm basically starting from nothing again due to the fact that I didn't have any of the latest progress backed up. Remember to check back often for the latest news on the matter. Goodnight!

Please use the url: www.eviltoast.tk if you wish to view the site. GoDaddy is acting up and causing issues with the .net domain. Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon and everybody can go back to using the old address. Also, the delay in development should hopefully be ending very soon. Keep EvilToast bookmarked!

Just a quick update on my missing computer issue. Income taxes should be in soon and I will be purchasing a new laptop in the next few weeks. This means work will resume soon, although I have lost a lot of progress. More updates soon!

MASSIVE delay in development.

Three weeks ago I stopped into a store with a backpack on that I was using to carry my laptop and a few other things. When I entered the store to purchase a pack of cigarettes I was told by the cashier, "no backpacks allowed in the store." I explained to him what I had inside of the backpack and that I only wanted pack of cigarettes and that I didn't want to leave the backpack containing my computer outside alone. In the end I had to set it outside so I could purchase my cigarettes and when I came out it was gone. Luckily I have some files and builds of Evil Toast backed up to use when I can purchase a new computer. If anybody would like to help me with the funds towards getting a new computer, feel free to send me a donation via PayPal(donate button at the top right).

Ice Cream Sandwich is here! Not sure if this newest version of the Android OS will affect the development of the Evil Toast game, probably is nothing to worry about.
On another note, the Evil Toast site will be moved to Google Sites soon and all files and downloads from the site, as well as my blog here, will be hosted on my Minus account. This is simply to save me some money until everything is up and finished.

I haven't added a new post for a monthish now, so I figured I'd make one on the status of the development of Evil Toast. It is still being worked on when I get the time to do so and will hopefully be released sometime this winter. I have however added a mobile theme to the site to make viewing on mobile phones much easier. Be sure to check the site out on your mobile phone and keep checking back for updates. Also, I plan on making an Android App that will pull the RSS feeds from my sites to make it even easier to stay up to date.

Evil Toast Forums

Added a forums page to Evil Toast. Next I'm going to be adding a capcha and a few other security steps to prevent the site from being flooded with spam by the time the game is released. I am having all kinds of ideas for the site. I plan to create some other games when I am finished with this project. Again the ideas for the games I am thinking about come from other cartoons and things that I drew when I was younger. Keep updated by heading over to the site and subscribing to the RSS feed. BackTrack - store address and return to it.

I call this app "BackTrack". It simply stores an address and GPS coordinates and allows you to use Google Maps at a later time to find your way back to the stored location. Could be useful in a few different situations. Feel free to download it.

Corona SDK - Evil Toast

Just finished proposing a project to Kickstarter. I'm trying to raise $200 for a years use of Corona SDK. I plan on using this to develop an Android game based on a comic me and an old friend made back in middle school called "The Evil-Toast Busters". I've decided to rename the project and call it "Evil Toast" to avoid any potential issue that may arise (Ghost Busters). If they accept my project proposal I will begin developing it with the Corona SDK. This will also make it easier to port over to iOS for all the iPhone users, code once deploy to both environments. However, if it does not get approved or I can not meet the fund requirements, I will begin development using Eclipse and the Android SDK.

Edit: That notepad application is still coming. Busy with the kids the last few days!

PaintPad - a paint program for Android.

I actually put a little bit of effort into this one since I started. I altered the layout, played around with the brush sizes, created a larger color palate, made the paint canvas auto detect the screen size of the phone, and a few other minor alterations. I plan on adding alot more features to this app and keeping it updated. Some features that I plan to add to this application are, bucket fill, ability to save the painted image to the phone/sd card, and cleaning up the UI.

Today I gave the site a total makeover. I am still working on finishing the new look as well as linking back to all my content and files. Everything should be back up by tomorrow or Sunday. All of my hosting is now provided by Google and Eviltoast.
