I love how this project turned out – the steady background and the several shots per subject make the photo booth an ideal setting for this kind of photo flipbook. It’s such a high-energy way to capture the enthusiastic celebration of the wedding! Plus, all the kissing is fantastic.

We Love Leftovers: Logo Design

We Love Leftovers голова болит секс is a project I’m launching this Fall with my good friend Erica Torres. голова болит секс

The project’s aim is to connect New York’s Film and Television productions — which, after filming wraps, often have leftover props, wardrobe, furniture, etc — with charities that can make positive use of their leftovers.

With this logo, we wanted to showcase the leftover idea with an image that could also stand alone and represent our brand. We ended up with this Chinese takeout box labeled with a single heart.

These are all the photos I’ve taken between May and the first week of September 2009 in a single 2-minute zippy photo/film. I’ve been wanting to do a project like this for a while, so expect more to come from my photo archives. (additional photos by Nina Barry, Robin Katz, Jason Lange and Tasha Shayne).

I love how all the photos that are essentially rejects — out of focus, poorly framed, and over exposed shots — become useful again and add character to the film and provide vital motion.

I take so many pictures that seeing this project work really excites me in that I will finally be able to put ALL my photos to work in a final product, not just the selects, and I can really start to capture the flow of time visually.

CrossFit Roots: Web Design

I developed this website design for CrossFit Roots in Boulder. In addition to the design, the site includes a blog, a rotating slideshow controlled from the administrative backend, live posting of their twitter feed in a sidebar widget and more.

Nicole and Eric at CrossFit Roots were a genuine pleasure to work with as clients – open to fresh new ideas and searching for something different: an athletic-geared site that didn’t involve the typical dark greys and steel tones of most of their competition. Instead we used the crisp lines and earth tones in the design to highlight their core message: healthy, natural, well-rounded fitness.

GEOS Global: Professional Web Design

I was contacted by GEOS Global, a Boulder-based trading firm, to create a professional, clean and attractive site for their company. The site is simple and straightforward with limited navigation. Particuarly enjoyable was finding and manipulating the background photograph to capture a certain look and feel. The photo was tweaked to add a glow to the bright values and I painted in several washes of color. The job was a rush and I put the entire website together – from concept to completion – in less than 2 weeks.

CrossFit Roots: Logo Design Variations

Boulder-based CrossFit Roots approached me to develop a logo concept for them communicating athletics and a return nature. They wanted to express that their approach to fitness is more about getting back to fundamentals – hence, roots. Excited by the idea, I developed a color concept consisting of three levels – first the Blue frames and White silhouettes as Sky and Clouds, then the Green of the word ‘CrossFit’ as Grass, and finally the Brown, Earthy word ‘Roots’ as, well, Earth/Roots. Additionally, all of the athletic figures are original illustrations.
