GÖTEBORG: Editors discuss impact of the Integrated Newsroom (Part two video)
Editors throughout the conference discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the digital revolution of the newsrooms. The integrated newsroom was much talked about at the 15th World Editor's Forum. Being the "must-do" idea of 2007, some newspapers still haven't made the transition to combining print with digital media. Lisbeth Knudsen from Danish Berlingske Tidende gave her opinion as to why and how editors need to go interactive. More video reports from the World Editors Forum
UPDATE: The longer form video interview and lecture with Russia's Garry Kasparov. During his speech Kasparov addressed subjects such as the lack of freedom of the press and the political climate for journalists in today's Russia. According to Garry Kasparov the current situation for the press has made the atmosphere in the newsrooms one of caution. The murders of Russian journalists, such as Anna Politkovskaja, have received great media coverage outside of Russia. But in the domestic media cases like these have gotten hardly any attention. More video reports from the World Editors Forum
At the 15th World Editor's Forum Garry Kasparov was the guest speaker of the second editor's lunch. He spoke on different subjects, such as the lack of freedom of speech in today's Russia, the political climate for journalists and foreign countries interfering in Russian politics. Although he got mostly applause for his outspoken opinions, his fellow countrymen presented some severe criticism. In the end, the russian president of the Press Guild, Eugene Abou, promised Kasparov an official press conference on their own premises, something he has been denied until now. Kasparov himself was very reluctant to believing there will actually be a press conference upon his return to Russia.

According to Timothy Balding, CEO of WAN, newspapers in a global perspective are doing well, contrary to trends in specific regions like North America and parts of Europe. Print as a distribution form is losing ground to new digital media, especially in the Western World. Congress and Forum speakers and guests of the 15th World Editors Forum share what they think the future holds for printed newspapers.

Documentary report from the Camp Video Journalism training week held at the Chicago Sun-Times May 5-9, 2008. Camp Video Journalism upgrades a reporter's skills to meet the demands of the networked journalism era. Camp VJ Chicago students included a Pultizer-Prize winning photographer, newspaper reporters, broadcast professionals and the director of a major U.S. Journalism school. The game has changed media makers and journalists need focused and practical video training that can make a dramatic difference, right away.

An original blues song by Robb Montgomery. This version is a two-track demo - the songwriting equivalent of a rough pencil sketch. The song started to form in Boston during a recent trip where the author spent nine days - mostl of them couped up in a dank hotel room with his guitar. Originally titled 'The Boston Blues,' this track has been renamed "So baby, do" - for the hook in the first verse. This is a first stab at lyrics - a vocal melody is still to come as a re bass, acoustic guitar and electric piano parts. So baby, do By Robb Montgomery, ©2007 Kidvibe.com, LLC (ASCAP) Please don't tell me that you love me Please don't tell me that you need me All that I want to do is kiss you So, please, baby do
