The Appliance of Science .. to the Toon

I have to add my pennies worth to the aftermath of Monday nights debacle at Derby by the lads. Although the press have been fairly gentle with them, reflecting the tentative nature of their developing relationship with “big Sam, the fans have been far less forgiving, and quite rightly in my opinion.

Paying for a pint?

Pigs, cannibalism, the NHS and restaurants, all rolled into one, stirred, fried and served up hot. I always enjoy reading Bill Oldfield’s column in the Friday Journal, but this week he excelled himself. His description of his experience and feelings after spending an evening in a local A&E department were eloquent and from the heart.

Computers, just what you need when you are ill?

The new national NHS IT system is in the news again I see. A committee of MP’s have serious concerns about the delays in implementation. They fear patient safety might be compromised. More the other way round I suspect. National IT projects can seriously damage your health in the NHS.

The doctor will see you now

Apparently there are millions and millions of blogs written every day across the world, and thousands of new ones are started daily. Most stop after a few weeks or months of writing. Sitting here now trying to start for the first time, I begin to understand.

I’ve wanted to do a blog for quite a while, but when it comes to the crunch it’s not so easy to start. What shall I write about, how do you start, am I suffering from writers’ block already?? How do people do this for a living?

Just get on with it, he says to himself while calming down and trying to focus, write about what you know. Hmmm, still stuck. Wonder why that is?

So what do I do?
