Tuesday, April 29, 2008 4:00 p.m.
     I handed in three papers to Prof. Kunjummen for Ecclesiology/Eschatology class yesterday. The last for that class.
     I handed in my take-home final to Prof. Smith, also the last.
THEN
     I went home and started to read the latest Jan Karon (Fr. Tim series) novel. whoa!
     I suffered pangs of guilt because my head was just so SURE there was more schoolwork to be about… ahem!

     I told Prof. Smith that I wanted to thank him and Prof. K for giving me germs!
     Thankfully, Smith has gotten used to my sense of humour (ahem! no comments from the peanut gallery)…
     As I drove to school, I lamented the inadequacy of the offerings I was transporting to my professors’ hands but then things came into perspective as I thought about the germs of bigger Bible studies to develop material for teaching that I had in my backpack. I have been afforded such a laboratory experience in my class time at seminary! God is so good!

Thanks for the germs.
Now, of course, there is a bigger task at hand as I look eastward!

Here are some YouTube videos of things Ishskwaday (Ojibwa: “fire”). First is the 2008 promo video, then the one from 2006. Ishskwaday 2006 was the inaugural conference. The conferences are expected to be held every-other year. This year’s conference theme is Reconciliation. I will be presenting a seminar on Saturday, March 15, 2008.
After those, there are two videos of Broken Walls, the music ministry of Jonathan Maracle (Mohawk: Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

Bumper Snicker

Y’know, I love watching license plates, especially the personalized ones, but sometimes even the stock ones turn out pretty good.
Early on, when Ontario was having their first crop of fully personalized plates, my sister and I saw one in Toronto that read 2TH DR - I’ll leave you to figure out what this guy did when he got to work.
So, this afternoon, as I was driving south on I-275 heading to the Seminary, I notice a Grand Prix with a Michigan State University plate. There was that grand block S on the left and the letters T-O-L-A-T. What’s “TOLAT”? Oh! I get it - STOLAT. All you out there who are fortunate enough to be of Polish heritage, sing along with me now!

Time to Learn

I was at our Seminary’s yearly banquet last night and had a chance to hear Dr. Erwin Lutzer speak - author and pastor at Moody in Chicago. He challenged us to “regain our ground” in North America (for he could speak for the Canadians as well, because that is where was born and raised) emphasizing five points (notes taken last night thanks to my trusty Palm Pilot - it was supposed to be a night OFF from school and lectures!):
