For your Wednesday I didn't quite finish up my latest project, so I randomly stumbled upon these gorgeous images and thought to bookmark in a post. Swooning over the subtle neutrals offset with the muted colors. The photos come from a BHLDN products blogger preview before the launch a year ago. Pure loveliness.

Hello Monday.

I certainly have the itch for spring already...and it's only February. Not a good sign. These little blooms offer a glimpse of spring and chance to use my recent ebay purchase—a mini boot vase. Anyone else attempting to feel spring early? How so?

While I've always thought of myself as an "organic design" fan, the wildfire of geometic trendiness gives me all new appreciation for hard abstract lines. Very sharp.

I have no idea what possessed me to make these tiny monkey fist knots. In life, one thing leads to another and eventually you always end up with a bunch of knots, right?

You may recognize them from a popular Design*Sponge feature a while back. Someday they'll sneak their way into a future project of mine—because they are just too cute!

Hello Monday and Friends!

How was your weekend? My Sunday was incredible and wonderfully refreshing. I took time to practice a little photography with this still life. I am incredibly insecure about my photography (lighting more accurately), and would like to NOT take 40 images for every 1 that I post here. Although I'd prefer to have a super-talented photographer stalk me 24/7, the realistic solution is to practice and get better, right?

All these beautiful valentine food images are giving me the BIGGEST craving! This weekend may have to include a trip to the bakery for a gourmet cupcake.

Anything can be salvaged with a little garlic + herb goat cheese. This is not a total failure.

Yesterday I attempted white grape jam. It came out as syrup—a predictable rookie mistake. I still might re-attempt to set it this weekend, but till then I'm enjoying on toast with herbed goat cheese (an idea I thought of after seeing Kara's Pin).

Since I documented my experience I still want to share. These grapes were a steal at the farmers market and a good excuse to give canning a whirl. Sidenote: Does anyone else shop at their market to get home and find a sticker from Brazil? URGH. Anywho, I followed this recipe by The 350 Degree Kitchen. The only thing I should have done is doubled the pectin (what makes jelly into jelly). Next time, I'll merge the recipe with what the box of pectin recommends to add for the amount of fruit I'm using.

Washing.

Cooking.

Pouring.

How did that take four hours?! Ah, well. Add another notch to the life of a domestic housewife checklist.

I still argue this was not a failure, and if I can do it anyone can do it.

Lay down excuses and give your best anyway. An echo I need to hear often.

Happy February 1st! My house needed a little festive door candy, so I whipped up a heart wreath—made from recycled grocery bags. Never thought those could make something pretty, did you? Yeah me neither. But I REALLY like it. AND it's waterproof. Perfect for a sporadic weather month.

I didn't really follow a tutorial, but used the concept from this wreath. The only supplies are a metal hanger and 15-20 plastic bags. Ruffled weather-proof wreath for a total cost of nada. Can't beat that!

Foraged for quotes today and nothing seemed fitting. Until I landed on Jane Austen.
Can't go wrong there.
