We’ve got some great news – Governor Deval Patrick will be joining us at our next meeting! Please join us this Wednesday, January 27th, in Jamaica Plain, at 5:45pm to meet the Governor and talk about the upcoming election. (Please note this is earlier than usual; the Governor will be with us until 6:45pm).

The Governor is joining us to discuss the upcoming election cycle, the accomplishments of the past 3 years, his plans for 2010, and how we as organizers and progressives in JP can play a role in the campaign. Most importantly, he wants to hear from you about what are you hearing and seeing, and what’s on the minds of JP voters.

We know that the best campaign meet voters and organizers where they live. The best campaigns organize early to build the kind of strong foundation that is needed in this difficult political climate. We are excited that the Governor is doing just that, in our neighborhood, with our help and advice — and we hope you can join us in getting organized for the upcoming year.

The meeting will be at a new location this Wednesday, January 27, at 5:45pm. Because of limited space, this is an RSVP-only event.
Please submit your RSVP quickly, because we can only accept 50 RSVPs. Visit http://www.jpprogressives.com/elections-2010/governor-attends-jpp-meeting/ and fill out the RSVP form. We’ll send you an email with the location information.

We will be holding our regularly scheduled business meeting at 7pm following our meeting with the Governor. All are welcome to attend, but not required to do so. (Also, if you can’t make the meeting with the Governor but would like to come to the business meeting, email us at moreinfo@jpprogressives.com so we can get you the location information.)

Thanks, and we hope you’ll be able to join us.

Reuben Kantor and Melissa Threadgill, Co-chairs

Doyle’s Cafe
3484 Washington St

The Progressive Voter Guide [PDF] is a collection of information that progressive voters in Boston may find useful when deciding which candidate(s) to support in the Mayoral and At-Large City Council elections. Each Mayoral and At-Large City Council candidate was invited to fill out a questionnaire created by the members of the JP Progressives on a number of topics of importance to the group. In addition, we invited each candidate to speak, answer questions from the group based on their questionnaire, and meet members of the JP Progressives. All told, we hosted all four Mayoral candidates and 12 of the 15 At-Large Candidates.

Following the results of the Preliminary election, we edited the guide to include only those who made it to the final. (Though the full guide is still available in the archives.)

Read the Questionnaires

Each questionnaire is online. See the menu bar, above, to select which candidate’s questionnaire you would like to view.

Please download a PDF with all 10 questionnaires.

Watch Video

Each candidate was given the opportunity to make a brief opening statement before answering questions.

You can view all of the videos here.

Get Involved

Did you find the Progressive Voter Guide helpful? Then please let your friends, family co-workers and neighbors know about the project.

JP Progressives will also getting the word out about the voter guide in Jamaica Plain by going door-to-door and handing them out at community events. If you are interested in helping us get the word out, please email moreinfo@jpprogressives.com, and/or sign up for our email list.
