Spent the day at Queen Street Wollahra today. Absolutely gorgeous strip of shops. Feels like Beverly Hills or better still Paris. So went to the shop called The Bay Tree and here I bought a paper with Paris map and also this gorgeous timber box.

This is such a beautiful way of recording your inspiration. We are inundated with hundreds of words and images that we sometimes forget where the inspiration comes from. Oh this is sort of like combination of scrapbooking and collecting beautiful things.

So went to Mitchell Road Auction house yesterday and browsed through some vintage goodness. I was so excited with the purchases for my vintage collection if in case a day calls for some vintage styling.

I really want to call this simple shoot - Music & Lemonade. Inspired by Sound of Music. Remember when Uncle Max was drinking Pink Lemonade?

How they were sent

In preparation
I fell quickly in love with Paper Eskimos paper party goodies. So I colour co-ordinated the popcorn bags and fairy floss cups with a circus theme. It is quite expensive to hire the machines so I improvised.

The fairy floss didn't last long in the cups they melted ah well they looked colourful for the photos.

My favourite decoration of the day this 4 metres by 5 metres backdrop of red and white fabric. I scouted the material from Cabramatta and they were $1.70 per metre. So cheap!

I've been eyeing a polaroid for ages now and whilst browsing through Reverse Garbage today a cousin-in-law found this amongst the items around the shop! What a find. I asked for the cost and she said $3? She said only because they're not making films for this anymore. I played dumb and said that's ok I'll keep it for my collection! I cannot wait to get out of there just in case she changes her mind and charge me more for it! ha ha ha. So I cannot wait to buy a 600 Polaroid film to give it a go. I am dying to try it!!!!

OK this is true serendipity! I wasn't even looking for this. I was mainly looking for a red and white strip material so that I can create a 'circus-tent-like' area for my little girl's 4th birthday party. The theme is 'Fairytale Carnivale' and guess what I found this one! $3 for the whole lot. It's a total of 20-metre and it's an off-cut. I cannot wait to try and use it to decorate cards!

Travel Exclusive: Volterra, Italy

We all know why Volterra is one hot destination right now!

The very lucky Sandy and her family, travelled to Volterra last October and we made sure that Jacqueline Rose get some exclusive photos of this gorgeous Italian town.

Here's what Sammy Taylor (12 yo) have to say about Volterra
"As soon as you drive into Volterra, you can feel the welcome feeling. The shops are well set out. You can buy well crafted alabaster and you can feel the holy spirit in the Churches. Volterra's lovely views pretty much take you off your feet looking at the country side. Plus the pizza's yum!"

And Sandy's viewpoint…

My first impressions of Volterra were that there didn't seem to be much there, but as we climbed the steep road up to the centre square, more and more little shops and cafe's, tucked away, would start to appear. There were beautiful fine Italian paper shops and the Alabaster was abundant as well as some beautiful locally made terra-cotta earthen-wear. The food was fantastic and the Volterrians (if that is what you would call them) were passionate and would bend over backwards to help you out. There were many hidden roads that took you higher and higher into this beautiful town and at sunset, the views were spectacular. I would highly recommend Volterra as a magical place to visit."
