Growing a business to achieve some of the targets you've set for yourself takes these three things no matter what ANYONE else might say. Question:

Sergey Brin & Larry Page (co-founders of Google)

This prominent list could go on indefinitely. But the question is, what do these leaders all have in common? They all had:

* Discipline

* Work ethic

* Knowledge

There's no doubt they have these key ingredients...but they also had something else. They all have huge reasons "why". They all have something that continues to motivate them, something keeps them going. Day in, day out. Week in, week out.

And...

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WEALTH CREATION.

Think about it, all these people could have cashed out and retired a long, long time ago. But they keep going. There has to be something bigger than just dollars and cents to keep you driven and focused. No don't get me wrong...

If you're having trouble putting food on the table, then wealth will absolutely be a motivator to grow your business. But after you've grown it to the point that you don't really have to
work again, it takes something deeper and more, well...something more emotional to keep you going and in the game.

I can tell you that, for me personally, it's the family. I won't go into too many details here, but to say that I wasn't born with a "silver spoon" in my mouth would be a DRASTIC UNDERSTATEMENT.

I don't necessarily want my kids to go to some ivy league school, but I certainly don't want them to wonder if they are going lose their home. And I don't want them to watch their parents work at fast-food restaurants, just to keep the lights on.

So, what does it for you?

Is it the desire to help others with your product and business opportuity? Is it providing your children with a better future? Is it just being able to tell your boss to shove it where the sun don't shine? (don't laugh! this keeps a lot of people going)

Regardless of your big "why", the success of the wealthy (and yours too) boils down to 2 critical things:

1. PERSISTENCE

Nothing stops people with a big reason why. Whether it's personal issues, financial woes, external factors, etc - it just makes no difference. They don't stop. Ever. To continue to persevere and bounce back no matter what.

So let me ask you: Are you persistent? Do you easily give up and throw in the towel after a setback? Or do you pick yourself up and keep moving forward? These are important questions. This is where the rubber meets the road.

2. ASSISTANCE

All the truly successful find some way to help others with their product, opportunities or services. They provide assistance and services that people want and need. They understand "The Law Of Attraction" - the more they give back and help others, they more successful they become.

Look back at that list of notables above: most of those people have vastly expanded their fortunes since they seriously began giving back to society through charitable donations and foundations. I know, it might sound a little hokey but it's absolutely true.

So again, let me ask you: Are you positively impacting the world around you? Do you reach out and go out of your way to be of service to others in their dreams and aspirations?

Let me ask you another question: Would it be easier to do that if you truly believed that people were looking (or even begging) for your product and opportunity? I hope so.

The thing is, there are a lot of good products in the marketplace right now that people really, really want. It actually makes no difference what the product is, the priority is to find a product that benefits you, and then find other people that it can benefit.

That's what all successful people do. That's what you should do. People truly need to have your products, opportunities and services.

The only question is...Are you going to reach out and help them find what you already have?

I hope you've enjoyed this post. I'm going to close with a quick checklist that you should complete, no matter how big or small or new or old your online home business is. Take a few moments, fill in this simple checklist, and then take action.

You may not see the results immediately, but you'll feel the result immediately:

1. Create your reason why: define what keeps you motivated, through good times and bad.

2. Find a product/opportunity/service to market: this can be anything that you personally believe in and have gained benefit from. You may already have a product, that's great. If not, then set a timeline to find one fast.

3. Find prospects: Ask yourself "how many people am I going to help today?" Do this every day, every week, every month. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it was built. The important thing is to take action, and get started.

Today. Not tomorrow. We all have "reasons" and excuses why we can't or why we shouldn't do something. But the reality is: success is possible for everyone. Including YOU.

Get it done. Make it happen.

Today I'm going to talk about how to get more sales with the same amount of traffic.

Many online marketers don't realize is an improvement in your conversions means any additional revenue from your sales is 100% profit.

This is an important point when you consider the common misconception that in order to get more sales, you have to buy more traffic. The fact is, you should always focus on making your website do a better job before spending more on traffic generation.

Well, I'm going to reveal how you can do just that…

Tip 1: Get into your customer's mind

Thorough market research is the foundation, upon which you build your entire sales and marketing campaign.

It's used to test the viability of a product
It's necessary for discovering where to find your target market
It's needed for writing compelling ad copy
It's critical for future product development

So, how do you get into the mind of your market? Try and put yourself in your customer's shoes.

Are people already buying similar products? Who are they buying from? List the top 25 websites and retailers.

Find out why they purchased these products. What problem, question, challenge or desire were they addressing when they ordered this prodcut?

Find out what they liked and what they didn't like about the products. Check out some reviews.

What websites do your target prospects frequent online? You can learn a lot about your prospects by reading blogs, forums and participating in online discussions.

With a deep market research you will be able to understand the core motivations of your target market. You'll know exactly how to solve their problems and how to tap into their emotions.

Tip 2: Get a copywriter or become a good one

Sales copy is such an important part of your conversion and monetization strategy, that almost goes without saying. In your copy is where all your market research is going to come into full expression, in the form of ads and sales mesages, that compel your target market to click, opt-in and ultimately, to buy from you.

Basically you have two choices. Either learn how to write good copy or find someone who can. In my opinion, you must learn, at least, the basics of copywriting; so, even if younever write your own copy, you can at least recognize good copy from the bad copy. Copywriting is the most valuable skill, and that's why it can be so costly to hire it out.

Where do you find and hire copywriters?

You can find them on industry forums and websites. There are sites called Getafreelancer.com and Directresponsejobs.com, where you can post jobs and hire copywriters.

Tip 3: Track everything

When advertising you MUST measure the effectiveness of your ads. You can't improve what you can't measure, and you can't measure anything if you don't track.

Advertising should be a scientific process, whereby you test adverstising sources and copy with as little risk as possible.

What is it you should be tracking exactly?

You should be tracking absolutely everything. Tracking begins with your first ad exposure and continues through your entire sales process. Track the source of your ad, how many exposures before a click, how many clicks for a lead, how many clicks for a sale and how many leads for a sale.

From this information, you can calculate your baseline metrics, such as your conversion ratios, cost per click, cost per lead and cost per sale. Of course, you can also figure out your value per click, lead value and initial customer value.

I recommend Google analytics for on site tracking. Just paste a tiny code into your web pages and the software will calculate your metrics for you along with other data that will be useful in optimizing your sales process.

Tip 4: Test, test and test

You should be testing your ads, landing pages, sales letters, order pages, upsell offers, product prices and even your autoresponder messages. Split-testing is the key to making more money with the same amount of traffic.

If you could increase your capture page conversions to X%, you would increase that to more leads and more sales, from $XXX to $X,XXX with the same amount of traffic.

Without doubt, split-testing is one of the most powerful methods for increasing sales, reducing your adversting costs and widening the gap between you and your competitors.

Tip 5: Use testimonials

Testimonials are PROVEN to increase conversions. If you can add the element of social proof to your landing pages, sales pages and even order pages, you will almost always see a noticeable difference in your results.

Without getting in depth into testimonials, I'll give you a few pointers.

First of all, you want your testimonials to specifically address the benefits of your product or service. In other words, how did your widget save them time or money?

How long did it take to drop how much weight using your magic diet juice?

Second, do what you can to get those who give you testimonials to make them personal. Real pictures and full names are always best.

Finally, if you can, try to get audio and video testimonials. These are extremely effective, and they aren't hard to create.

Regardless of what format you use for testimonials, it always helps to "coach" your customers on exactly what you're looking for.

Tip 6: Use video and audio

Many people find that the addition of media, on landing, sales and order pages, increases the conversions, considerably.

Creating video and audio is not as difficult as most people think; and, depending on what quality you need for your given product or service, in your market, you may be able to use just a cheap camera, and your computer, to create high-quality videos.

Just like with copywriting, what you say is extremely important; but, because people can see and hear you, it adds a whole new dynamic. So, it's not just what you say, now you have to take into consideration how you say it, and how you look when your're saying it.

Here are some tips:

Make yourself presentable
Prepare for your shoot in advance (write scripts, set up teleprompter or cue cards)
Shoot in a clean environment
Make sure there's plenty of light
Be genuine and try not to sound scripted
Give a very specific call to action

Audio is even easier to create than video; and in many cases, can be done right from your computer with only a microphone.

Remember, credibility is important, and the more ways you can ease buyer resistance, the better. Multimedia, used properly, is a great way to add life and personality to your sales messages.

Tip 7: Remove unnecessary friction points from your sales process

If you have one product, you may have several "paths" that lead to the sale. For instance, maybe you have a landing page that collects visitor contact information, which then leads to a product sales page, which then leads to a order page, etc.

Even before your analytics data comes back, you should be able to identify potential friction points yourself or with the help of friends and family. Try to approach your website as if you were a first time visitor. Place an order on your site and try to step into the mind of your first time visitor.

What questions do people have about your product or service that aren't answered on your site? What are the "hot buttons?" Why do people exit your page without buying? Where are the hang-ups, unnecessary steps, or missing elements that might increase your conversions? How quickly does your website load?

Your goal should be to de anything and everything you can to remove resistance and simplify your sales process to make it less confusing.

Tip 9: Add more products!

Your goal should be to create a complete sales funnel that offers more of what your customers want. If you don't offer more products for your customers, I guarantee your competitors will, and your customers will buy from them.

Your goal should be to continuously add products to your sales funnel. The ideal sales funnel will have one or more entry level priced products or services, and offer additional options in the form of up-sells and additional back-end products.

In short, you want to make it fun and easy to buy form you over and over again, and you can do this by offering more of what people have already bought from you.

Tip 10: Use Surveys!

Survey's are probably one of the most valuable market research tools available.
They can help you increase conversions and sell more stuff in so many ways. For example:

Don't know what additional products to offer? Ask.

Don't know what to charge for your continuity program? Ask.

Don't know why people aren't buying from you? Ask.

Want to discover why people are cancelling, returning or refunding? Ask.

I could go on and on, but let me just say this...

The absolute best place to get marketing intelligence is to ask your prospects and customers. After all, they're the ones with the credit cards.

Surveys are easy to set up, and you have many options for doing so. How You Should Prospect To Grow Your Home Business Opportunity

One of the most common questions I get is:

"How do I find more people to talk to?"

And having people to talk to is all about prospecting. You see, prospecting is the fuel that feeds a business. Turn off the prospecting, and you kill the lifeblood of your business. Prospecting is what keeps your cash-flow steady and consistent, and it's an absolute MUST if you hope to build a strong, stable business.

But how do you prospect?

What are you looking for when you prospect?

And what the heck is a "Prospecting system"?

Good questions.

A prospecting system is simply the components of your prospecting campaign. It can be broken down into three individual parts:

1. How do you find people?

2. Once you find them, how do you qualify them?

3. Once they are qualified, how do you present your product and opportunity to them?

One of the most important keys you can understand is step # 2 - qualifying your prospect.

A lot of people in network marketing think they have to beg and convince everyone that their product is fantastic, that they opportunity is amazing, and that they need to "sale" people on what it can do for them.

NOTHING could be further from the truth.

And here's a hint - If anyone suggests that you need to beg, convince, or cajole your prospects, you would do yourself and your business a tremendous favor by simply...

Running away!

Because they obviously don't know anything about good recruiting and great prospecting. Great, effective prospecting starts with leading with the benefits of your product FIRST, your

opportunity SECOND.

This might seem very different than what you've been "taught", but the reason that I do this (and that many other successful leaders do this) are many. The biggest reasons are:

1. Credibility

You can't separate yourself in the marketplace based on greed. Everyone in the home business industry has an oportunity, and in this day and age of hype and greed, the average high-school graduate has been hit over the head with so many "make zillions today!" opportunities that it all starts to sound the same.

The problem is, because of all the hype, you start to blend in when you lead with your opportunity. In order to sound halfway credible, you need to lead with the benefits of your product or service FIRST, opportunity SECOND.

2. Retention

Retention rates go through the roof when you lead with your product or service. This is really critical for residual income (which is what network marketing is all about).

Residual income means you get paid tomorrow on the work you do today. So if you are buildign a residual income business, and you sign up a new distributor based on them making tons and tons of money in a residual income program, what is going to happen in 45 days when they aren't

making a zillion bucks?

Chances, they're not going to keep using the product, because it was never about the product in the first place.

The only reason they got involved was to make money. If they don't make a lot of money quick, they will quit and move on to the next "big thing".

If you are serious about building a solid foundation and a strong, long-lasting organization, you have to have business builders and product users that will use your product for the long term. And that means, they have to be using the product for more than just a way of getting a paycheck.

3. Integrity

Look, there's a lot of "noise" in the home business arena. There's some great people and great businesses, but there also some lousy businesses with some people that have "questionable" ethics.

If you are just starting out in your business, and you are trying to recruit a prospect based on your opportunity, what is the first question they will ask you?

I can guarantee it will be "So (your name), how much money are YOU making?". And if you're just starting out, it won't be much.

Ouch.

Instantly, you lose credibility, and (right or wrong) your prospect will question your integrity. This is NOT what we want to happen.

But no matter how new or old you are in promoting your business, you can absolutely endorse a product experience, and you can certainly learn how to become knowledgable of that product in just a few days.

That's powerful. AND credible.

So if you are leadign with your product or service, who are you looking for?. When you prospect, you are looking for 2 key things to determine if they would be a good fit for your program:

1. Pain

Your prospect needs to already be aware of a need for something else. For example, if you are marketing a health and wellness product, you need to target people who already care about their health, and are willing to spend money on that interest. If you are marketing telecom, you want to prospect people who already want a way to get their telecom service for free (or even get

paid to use their phone).

In other words, there needs to be a pre-disposition to using your type of product or service. Otherwise, you're just spending your time convincing, when really, you should be sorting and qualifying.

2. Desire

Your prospect needs to already have the desire to fix their pain. I've met some people in my life (and I'm sure you have too) that actually seem to like being miserable.

It's not that they don't know what to do...

It's that they just won't do it!

Well, if someone has that attitude, they are NOT your prospect. You want to prospect problem solvers, people that see the need for what you have, and already have the desire to take action.

Thing is, if your prospect has pain, and they have the desire to fix that pain, then all you need to do is show them how to get that done.

So...

If you have a business, then go find some people to help! We live in a world that is chock-full of pain.

If your product has benefits (and it almost certainly does) then go find the people that are in need of those benefits, and help them out.

Ease their pain. Help the world be a better place. And make some money at the same time.

That's a win/win situation, right?

The Internet has become phenomenal resource for information. It is easy to find information on anyone and anything with just a few clicks of a mouse. People all around the world are sharing the wealth of information on the Internet and as a result many fraudulent businesses are showing up on the Internet everyday with the hopes of enticing some unsuspecting innocent people. Always go with your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

Here are some guidelines to assist you in determining if the company or service is the real deal or if it is one of those many online scams.

When you visit a website, the first thing you should do is click on the “About Us” or “Contact Us” link to see if the company has mailing address (not a post office box) and a phone number. Dial the phone to make sure that it is a real phone number or use a reverse look up directory online to verify the phone number.

If you are planning to make a substantial investment, ask for a list of satisfied customers and their contact information. You can also ask for the state of incorporation and verify it with the state’s secretary. One of the most important attitudes for financial success is long-term thinking. Successful people think a long way into the future, and they adjust their daily behavior to ensure that they achieve their long term goals.

Certainly for me, when I set out on my road as an entrepreneur, all I wanted was to be a millionaire. Be rich, free and have all my time to myself.

One thing is for sure, that is perfectly achievable for ANYONE. But in reality, you have to take one step at a time.

The key to realizing your long-term goals is to set specific shorter term goals that take you on the path to your long-term objective.

One by one, step by step, meet and exceed each short-term goal and you'll achieve more in the space of a year than most achieve in a lifetime. So, here's how to do it...

Let's create your Success Path

There are many, many different areas to your life that need to be aligned in order for you to achieve everything you want. However, for many people, actually knowing what they want is a difficult thing to answer (financial freedom, be a millionaire, etc).

Until you identify what you actually want, you simply don't have any chance of achieving it.

So, by completing this exercise I'm going to show you, you will begin to attract into your life the people, tools, finances, joy and happiness you need to get everything you want.

Here we go...

Step 1:

I want you to start by listing the most important areas of your life. For example, I have categorised mine into Family, Health, Wealth and Spiritual.

Yours may be similar, you may add others such as your career aspirations. Write each category at the top of its own category page.

Step 2:

On each page, for each category I now want you to write down the things you want to achieve in that category. What are your aspirations?

Under Wealth I have many goals, one of which is to increase my MLM income from US$28,000 to US$100,000 per month.

The key is to dream. Your dreams must come from you. The one I just mentioned is a clear example. And I assure, mine would "freak out" any unsuspecting "life wonderer". I mean they are huge, very huge...And I'm well on my way to achieving them.

Step 3:

Now prioritise the goals on each page. Top through bottom. Number them from 1 down. Take your time here.

Step 4:

Now on each page take your top 3 goals. Place each on its own page (still within its main category section).

Now for each of the three in each section define SPECIFIC action steps you can take TODAY to take you one step closer to them. There may be a long list of specific actions for any one task.

It is essential these are things you can do. Things that will take you close to the end goal.

Step 5:

EVERY single day you MUST update your goals, update you tasks and make sure you are only executing tasks that are part of your plan.

Seems simple eh? And it is...

BUT, the power of asking yourself what you really want, writing down and actually breaking it down into specific actions steps is phenomenal. Outtageously powerful and a fool-proof way to get everything you want.

Now, follow this plan to the letter. Every day and very quickly things will start to change. Help in achieving your goals will magically, mysteriously and magnetically attract itself to you.

You'll discover opportunities you never believed where there, find answers you thought were impossible and before you know it, have achieved more in a matter of months than most achieve in a lifetime.

This is powerful stuff. It sounds a little "hocus-pocus" (which I hate) but, I ask you to trust me and do it.

To be in the best position, you need to know more than that. You need to know what offers they are exposed to and what their expectations are for service and deliverability. Asking this question leads us to look at our competition in the marketplace.

Did you know that you are competing against McDonald's every day?

McDonald's is a process-driven organization. Their goal is to give you the same experience each and every time you visit a McDonald's, no matter where it is. The hamburger, fries and the whole experience will be exactly the same as it was the last time you were in the store.

In your customer's mind, your business should be like a McDonald's, meaning your service and delivery will be process-oriented and consistently meet expections the first time. If they are a new customer, they have no experience with you; however, they do have experience with the rest of the world's businesses and the experiences they provide.

Design Your Email To Make Your Customers "Open", "Click" and "Buy"

When you build a website or blog and you have your opt-in box placed prominently on your site, you have to work on your offer. You need to offer your visitor a good and fair incentive to get them to give you their email address and to earn the right to market to them.

If you follow this small checklist when emailing your list, you will reap the benefits of repeat sales:

Create and test different types of sales

A free report (everybody loves free stuff), single product, "buy one get one free" if you are promoting a product with enough of a profit margin, "time limited offers" to make people take action right now.

Write an eye-catching subject line to describe your offer and make your subscribers want to click

It's all well and good to have a great offer for your subscribers but they won't know about it unless they open and read your email, right? Subject lines aren't just as import as content and design...they actually can be more important.

If your subject is bland it doesn't matter how well-written the content is or how amazing the images of your products look because most of your customers will delete your email without opening it.

There are two things you must avoid when making your subject line: 1) To describe your content in a completely general sense and conveys nothing about it 2) Over-communicating is just as bad. Too long looks like spamming.

You want a bite-size hook, not some long boring exposition that will be truncated by your customers email client anyway.

Your subject must be clear and concise, adding a call to action doesn't hurt either. Don't use all caps, avoid extra puctuation, and don't use more than one exclamation point if you must use any at all.

Test different email design layouts

Now that you've gotten your customer to take a look at your content you need to capture their eye with your design. There are a lot of different elements and considerations that go into design so I'm going to start with the most basic and technically the only necessary one - product pictures.

Your products need to be the focus. Your images have to be crystal clear and sharp. In other words, your products need to pop.

You can use in-context images or just simple product pictures. Include the name of the product or a brief description below the image.

Be sure to code using absolute URLs and keep your HTML simple

One thing to be sure of when you're adding images into your emails is they need to be absolute URLs. There are some email programs that allow you to upload images and place them in the template. If you¡re going to use the same exact image that is on your site you can right click on it and select View Image to get the URL. If you're going to make changes to the image, i.e. size, color, effects, you'll need to publish it somewhere to get an absolute URL.

Most email marketing programs have built in templates that you can add or upload text and images to and there is nothing wrong with using them. Customize them a little bit though. Change the colors, alter the layout, that sort of thing.

If you're creating your own HTML email template using an editor be sure to put in all the proper tags from the email software you're using. If you want a greeting at the top you need to put in the code to call the customers name.

Let's talk about code for a moment. My best advice is to keep it as simple as possible. The more tables, large images and scripts you put in, the longer it will take to load. People don't wait very long for web pages to load and they'll have even less patience when looking at email. If you're designing your email with a large in-context image break the image up into a few slices rather than one large file. Use div tags instead of tables wherever you can.

Another thing to remember as far as tables, is the more you have the better the chances your email will not show up correctly in some email clients. You don't want to go through all the work of creating an awesome looking email only to have it go all screwy in Gmail. Create some different accounts, send a test out to this list and make sure it's showing up the way you want it to.

Test, test and then...keep testing!

Keep testing and digging deeper into the wants and needs of your customer base and you will create a solid income stream from within your existing business, it's a wonderful thing.

Years ago, Netscape was acquired by AOL. Netscape.com wanted to be more like Digg, so they added "social news". Well there's a problem with "selling" when it comes to the industry, especially when you're offering a business opportunity.

If you "sell" someone on getting started and buying into your opportunity through persuasive conversatioinal and closing techniques that pump them up emotionally, and target their "hot buttons", then yes, you will recruit a lot of people and make sales.

But...

Once that emotional state wears off, whether it's a day later or a week, the buyer will experience remorse. The dreams of wealth and success will succumb to the harsh realities of business ownership...That there's real work involved, skills to be learned, money to be invested, and much more.

These people quit and go back to their lives.

Now if you're just going after a one-time retail sale, that would be fine. But that's not your goal when you're bringing in a new distributor whom you'd like to see a commitment/partnership of several years from.

Unfortunately, this is what happens most or the time in this industry.

New distributors are just focused on the sale. They need the money, they want the self-gratification and recognition that comes from sponsoring a new rep so they learn how to throw out lines, read scripts, sell, over-come objections and close.

Many will go on to achieve success because they sponsor so many people that some naturally stick and run with it.

But selling and sponsoring like that is HARD work.

It's an uphill battle because you're fighting people's instincts to avoid being sold. They're afraid of making a mistake. They're afraid of being ripped-off. They're afraid of falling or looking silly. There's no TRUST.
