One young woman is taking another big step for people with Down syndrome and just like the pioneers before her, she refused to let anyone tell her what she is or isn’t!

22-year-old Mikayla Holmgren is a beauty contestant from Minnesota who has performed in several pageants and dance competitions and was crowned the 2015 Minnesota Junior Miss Amazing winner.

Even the idea that felines and canines can’t coexist has been around for decades, but it simply isn’t true. At least, not all of the time.

One couple wanted to expand their family by adopting fur-babies to join them on their epic hiking adventures.

Cynthia Bennett and her boyfriend adopted their dog Henry three years ago. Henry went on all of their outdoor adventures with them, but they soon decided they wanted to adopt a cat to join them as well.

After months of searching, they settled on a Siamese-mix kitten named Baloo and now Henry and his kitty brother are inseparable and enjoy exploring the wilderness together.

Luckily, Cynthia has chronicled their travels on Instagram and the photos are nothing short of epic!

It sounds a little odd for a kitty to enjoy being out in the cold, wet mountains of Colorado, but Baloo loves it!

“I get a lot of questions about how we got him used to it. But he really loves it. He really wants to go outside,” Cynthia said. “If I touch Henry’s leash, [Baloo] will start screaming at the door.”

Like most little boys his age, Cameron loves superheroes – his favorite is Batman – but this little guy is becoming a superhero to millions of people across the country after his story appeared on The Today Show.

Batman’s superpower is his brain.

He is an ordinary man – albeit, rich – whose tenacity and strong will overcomes evil.

Cameron channeled his inner Bruce Wayne and fought a very evil foe: Stage 4 brain cancer.

Just over a year ago, Cameron fell down some stairs and started to experience back pain. His parents took him to the doctor, who ran an MRI scan that showed no sign of trauma, so the doctor asked that another MRI be run “upward.”

For 23-year-old Paige Howitt, she’s just trying to survive the excruciating pain she lives with on a constant basis.

Paige was diagnosed with a very rare condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) two years ago.

CRPS is said to “cause the most pain a human can physically endure.”

Along with a severe burning sensation in her left knee, Paige also experiences muscle spasms, intense swelling, and insomnia.

The pain people suffering from the condition feel is rated on the McGill pain index as being worse than childbirth, amputation of a limb, fracturing a bone, and even cancer.

There is little relief from CRPS. The best Paige has found is wrapping her limbs in ice packs and she even sleeps next to a freezer.

She did find slight comfort after trying different therapies to no avail, and started going to specialized treatment in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

The treatment effectively enhances the body’s natural healing process by breathing in 100-percent oxygen for about an hour.
