Google Panda Refresh #25 – How much queries will effect?

The headache of SEOs has begun again when Matt Cutts confirmed the Google Panda Refresh #25 earlier this week while speaking at SMX West Panel. We guys are working on “next generation of Penguin” and will update later this year, he added more.

For the inpatient readers, “Google will update its 25th Panda Refresh within Friday 15th to Monday 18th March”.

Last Panda Refresh happened about 8 weeks ago that refreshed about 1.2% queries at all. The 23rd Panda hit about 1.3% where Panda 22nd and previous had the same values so It can be assumed that this update may hit between 0.8 to 1.2% queries.

Moreover, the biggest news is that Google plans to penalize the whole sites for the cause of single “bad backlink” because of they allowed webmasters to remove unnecessary backlinks through a Google Webmasters Disavow Tool.

Beginners Guide To Robots.txt Files

What is Robots.txt?

Robots.txt is a simple notepad file that is used by website owners to restrict the robots and crawlers to crawl of specific webpages or the whole website for search engines but sometimes for malicious software.

Where it is Located?

Robots.txt is always located in the root directory of your website means if you’ve created the Robots.txt file and placed it in the right path so its URL will look like this: http://www.examplewebste.com/robots.txt

How to Create?

Open your notepad from windows and save that file as named robots.

How to Restrict Robots?

Open your saved Robots.txt file and start writing paths and restrictions as given below:

User-agent: *

Disallow: /

Above given transactions will restrict crawl your whole website. How? Let’s read further:

“User-agent:” The attribute is used to define the crawlers and robots that will be restricted to crawl your website.

“*” Next to User-agent: there is an asterisk key that was used to restrict all the crawlers on web to crawl this website.

“Disallow:” This attribute is used to define the files and directories of your website that will be restrict from crawlers to crawl.

“/” This forward slash was made to restrict the root directory of your website from the crawlers.

If you want to restrict the specific webpages of your website, you can define them instead of this forward slash. For example, if you want to restrict the fake.html that is under the /shop named directory or path of your website, you’ll need to write as “Disallow: /shop/fake.html” or if you want to restrict the whole /shop directory, you can do this by “Disallow: /shop/” where the next forward slash is restricting the whole sub-directory from search engine robots or crawlers.

Google Panda #25 – How much SERPs Affected?

Jolts and Jerks between SERPs are the common behaviors which define the search algorithms has redefined or refreshed badly but it’s even more painful when you see that your top order keywords are on floor.

From last two to three months we’re seeing that Google refreshes its Algorithms between second 10th of each month and later the company confirms that actually there was a Panda Update. The discussion has been started at this WebmasterWorld thread about this hot topic and that’s not enough. I also saw a major change for my some top order and “not in 1000” type keywords. These changes are somehow good for me but somewhere my keywords depressed me.

If, Google confirms that it was Google Panda #25 update, so what will be your response? For me, it will be just like a same as all days. Let’s hope for the best and wait for the media release for this update.

Sometimes, a failed idea takes you to the peaks as last year Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google Inc. cracked the story behind his successful search engine. Brin was at Google Ventures CEO Summit where he gave the point that the failing can be successful and beneficial.

He mentioned further that he and his friends, 20 years ago, building the web service that will allow hungry users to order pizza with their fax machines. Actually, the system was made to allow users to select various types of pizzas from various pizza spots nearby them. The system threw the fax to pizza shops where delivery man must be ready to fulfill the order.

That was gone quite interesting when Brin and his friends ordered a pizza through their machine and waited long for the delivery man. They got amazed when no delivery man came to their door and further it was realized on them that the most of the pizza spots around United States don’t check their fax machines on regular basis. The system was failed severely but gave idea to do something bigger than that.

Google BlogSpot Tracks Worthless URL Queries under Stats

Today, I came up with a new and extreme problem with my BlogSpot hosted blog. I just made this blog a week ago and posted only a test post which is neither shared nor opened. Blog is all according to Google’s Basics for indexing so indexed well by the search engine. I opened my BlogSpot Dashboard today to see what’s happening now in Stats section and it stuck me all around when I saw the unusual traffic. Here, I snapshotted some of that annoying traffic stats so you can see what’s happening now really to BlogSpot.

My dashboard stats are showing queries that are not even irrelevant URL queries but annoying to see the whole. These queries are about twenty and all contain URLs whereas the first URL is showing up my very own blog but all other queries are redirecting through the “Removed” or “404” pages. Here, I snapshotted some of these pages that you can see below.

As I maintained my blog on Blogger/BlogSpot so I picked a Dynamic Theme instead of the Simple one. In that Dynamic Theme, I furthermore selected the Magazine View that I never used before. It might be possible that the queries I am seeing would be a response of clicks that I made some hours ago. Blog has a responsive load theme so clicks are tracking as JavaScript URL queries. But at all, this issue should be resolved otherwise it can cause a great frustration to those who don’t know how to use Google Analytics and other tools like that.

What are Negative Keyword Match Types? Differences between Broad, Phrase and Exact

It was a great fun to see the users’ impressions through my previous straightforward blog about Keyword Match Types. Today, I am here again with another straightforward review for wonderful piece of advertising, Negative Keyword Match Types.

Like positives, negatives also have 3 variations: Broad, Phrase and Exact. Before starting further, it’s much necessary to know that Broad of negative has something different as compared to positive one.

Definition:

Negative keyword match types are basically those keywords that are necessary to be entered into your ad campaigns to make them successful. Basically, these keywords restrict ad display programs to show your ads to irrelevant categories to your businesses. For example, if you do only SEO for businesses and don’t want to track for SEO training so the negative will do that business for you. Negative keywords should be included in all of your ad campaigns by placing the minus (-) sign before your all keywords that need to be excluded from campaigns.

Negative Broad: As I mentioned above, Broad of negative is heavily different as compared to the broad of positive. In negative, broad is very complicated to use correctly specially for beginners. Negative broad won’t cover the singulars/plurals, variations, synonyms and single or both keywords. Just start with one example: -Car Decals. If you put this as your negative broad it means your ad won’t show for Car Decals Manufacturers but if someone searches for Car Decal Deals or Decal of Cars so the ad will appear because the queries are twisted with singulars and plurals. In other ways, if someone searches for Car Deals so the ad will show to him because both words of the keyword are mandatory to block the results. If you want to block several variations so you will need to add each of them into your list of negative keywords.

Negative Phrase: This type of negative keyword match types is exactly relevant to the positive one as it cuts out the ad displays when the long queries contain exactly words with in exact order of display. For example, if you added the –“Car Decals” as your negative phrase so your ad wont show for Cheap Car Decals but if someone searches for Cars Decal Online so the program can’t block appearance of your ad for that query. Singulars, plurals, synonyms and all orders will be same as the Positive Phrase Keyword Match Types had.

Negative Exact: Simply like the Positive Exact Keyword Match Type, the negative one has the same functions as it is used for blocking of showing up ads for the exactly match of your negative keywords. For example, if you want to block your ads for users that are searching for SEO Training so you will need to enter the –[SEO Training] as your Negative Exact and that will not block queries like Cheap SEO Training, SEO Training Courses, SEOs Training blah blah...

What is Click Through Rate or CTR? Page Impressions & Clicks Redefined

Internet is the only place where people are searching for the straightforward answers for the questions they asked. A soon beginner always searches for the basics of his field where he is enjoying beginner-ism. In internet marketing or PPC or SEM the quite common term the marketers mostly used is CTR. Basically, what is this CTR? I am now helping out in just detail with straightforwardness.

As per Google Adwords definition, CTR is a Clickthrough Rate that is calculated to know the positive performance of any advertising campaign running on Google Adwords tool. For this method, Google automatically answers the CTRs of your keywords in the form of percentage. Moreover, Google says that the number of clicks performed on an ad divided by the number of times an ad displayed is CTR.

Wikipedia.org says that CTR is the best way for measurement of any online advertising campaign running from any ad publishing platform. Wikipedia at its best redefined CTR as: if a banner ad achieved 1 click(s) where it was shown 100 times that means there is 1% CTR.

If we go in depth of these statements so straightforwardly CTR which is also known as Click-Through Rate is basically measurement for success of an ad campaign which is running on any online advertising platform in any manner. It doesn’t matter the ad is in rich media or a single text keyword but it’s necessary that it must be viewed once.

CTR is basically based on two terms calculations:

1. Numbers of times an ad displayed where the term is known as “Impressions” in online marketing campaigns like Google Adwords, Yahoo! Ads and Bing Ads.

2. Numbers of clicks an ad achieved. “Clicks” is the term which is used in online marketing campaigns.

Calculation:

The calculation of successful campaign is easy as running a campaign was. Simply, get the number of clicks an ad achieved and divide it with number of impressions that ad got then the answer will show your success in the form of percentage.

Conclusion:

The maximum your answer figure, the maximum your revenue and the maximum your ad campaign powerfulness.

Must be noticed:

Some marketers use 3rd party or own-defined desktop and online programs to count the number of impressions. Some programs won’t show the real numbers as they calculate the impressions as webpage loaded. If page has 3 ads on different locations it means the program counted 3 impressions but it’s not just a right way. The number of impressions will always be calculated when user sees the ad not when the user loaded the webpage. For example, if your ad was in the footer of webpage and the user didn’t scroll down till the ad appeared to him so how could you say it was an impression? Hello, this is the first post in PPC section. In this first post, we are straight reviewing about the keyword match types for Google Adwords campaigns. We all know, it’s hard for new advertisers to have the right information about the Google Adwords campaigns for PPC campaigns so I personally researched on the exact information for keyword match types, their uses, pros & cons and something more intelligent.

Keyword match types are basically the game of intelligence where you calculate what exactly users are searching for along with get ridding of bad clicks through your campaigns that can cause some hectic issues to your revenue plans. There are basically three types of keyword matches which we target in our Adwords campaigns.

1. Broad
2. Phrase
3. Exact

Broad are basically from those keyword match types in which you are targeting the audience or clicker that is searching for any word from your keyword in his query. For example, your targeted keyword is “Cheap Watches” and the target is searching for “Cheap Black Watches”, “Replica Watches Online” or “Buy Cheap Sunglasses”, your ad will show on searches due to the visibility of single or both words from your keyword in any manner. Broad match types work with synonyms, variations, singulars/plurals and misspells. Broad is also have one more variation which is known as Modified Broad. In this keyword match type, you can define your single or all words of your keyword as mandatory by attempting plus sign to your necessary word. For example, you can define the keyword as Cheap +Watches where the ad will show on searches like “Replica Watches Online”, “Cheap Watches To Buy” and “Handsome and Luxury Watches 2012”.

Phrase is no doubt a most useful keyword match type where advertiser has an option to target the right audience for his web page. In phrase, the keyword is defined in the quotes that defines that query should always contain the whole keyword in right manners. Phrase keywords also trigger misspells, singular/plurals, abbreviations, acronyms, synonyms, accents and stemming. For example, if you define the Phrase as “Replica Watches” so the ad will show on the searches like “Cheap Replica Watches”, “Pure Replica Watch”, “Adorable Fake Watches” but won’t show on searches like “Watches Online”, “Watch Making Company” or “Justin Watches.com”.

Exact match type is so different as compared to others and less useful keyword match type as it targets the limited audience or show when the queries are exactly equal to keywords. Exact match types can be defined in the brackets ‘[ ]’ when you are performing a campaign. For example, if you have the [Cheap Watches] as your exact keyword so the ad will show only when some search for Cheap Watches. It’s mind twisting here to discuss why advertisers avoid such type of match types.

2. Learn from your own mistakes through others successes. If you are a good observer you’ll obviously do this part easily and it can only be possible through your good implementations on your content. So Go Google!

3. Don’t copy others’ material because it won’t wheel up your experiences as well as your website so generate your own one masterpiece. If it’s difficult so follow others and start from your own penny, not from others dollar.

4. You must be an extroversive personality on internet for your content because users love to share and you’ll be. Share your own generated content with others and simply interact with them through their creativities, it will obviously wheel up your content.

5. Last and important thing is that you should be consistent with your loveable work. Post as much as you can and share as much as you want but keep regularity in your mind because consistent interaction is much better than breakthrough.

I am with no doubts that all the SEO is based totally on these five bullets. If you are luckier one so you’ll obviously pass all of these initials easily.

It’s may be fun out there to find new things on internet but it will be more interesting if you get enough up to your desires and that’s all brought to you by Google, really a human search engine. Google has enough potential to read human minds, go through their queries, produces results in the form of SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) and compiles other information related to your information.

How Search Works?

Google is extensively a smarter search engine produces information up to our needs and not more than this! The tail defined the whole animal! Google is closely connected with their users and it is just possible because of monstrous robots called “crawlers” or “spiders” programmed to go-through web pages, collect the jumbled data, formulate it and save into giant storage-houses spread throughout the world. When you enter the text in search field, search button plays it role, go through storage houses, collect the relevant data and introduces it to you in the form of result pages. Google instantaneously show the results because a millisecond delay would cause the dissatisfaction. Here, the fun thing is added; Google plays a vital role for breaking the violation on web by ranking the pages according to high relevancy and for this Google rate the web pages as good that are exclusively designed for humans, have quality contents and not only produced to save up-records in search engines, so for a blackhat SEO it should be worried!

What Google Aims?

At Google, Googlers aim to show you the results similar or relevant to your queries but the fun out there comes with different Google products varied from Google Images, Google Shopping, Google News, Blogs, Videos from Youtube, Google Profiles and so on. If you are searching location so maps will help you from right side, feeling to be social so get videos and blogs, want to be in know hows just go through news and if you’ve more thirst for information so Images & Books will help you. Google aimed and so introduced all the things related to your searches on single webpage and that is called sincerity! The post needs more expansion like public/personal results and child-safe results that will be discussed soon. That’s all folks!

I hailed to Search Engine Optimization some years back accidently! But, it doesn’t mean I didn’t know anything about this line and that has done because I met some SEOs before in deep! I got here some worst and some good experiences in my life and that is what I call “LIFE”. My first post is fulfilled with relations of SEO and Google because these are the two things that plugged me in the future and inspired me most.

I found it quite unique that people love to have the amazing things around them but only few feel the need of “extroversion”. Search Engines are smarter than us, in quite simple human language search engines, especially Google knows what should be yours when you drop the queries to it. A decade ago, it was not easy to find a thing on World Wide Web, but today you will have hundreds for your single search and that’s because of mind-blowing ideas. Google, smartly converted the global ground into small textbox and magnifier button. Intelligently, Google has driven the web in a smart way by dividing it into two parts User and Webmaster. User only knows to play with the keys but the whole thing goes to the webmaster that is responsible to take his website up in the Google. Look at this irrelevant Google search and a great Google result, that's what we called "Search Engine is Smart"

Basically, the thing is that; anyone can be a good SEO! The thing we need is sincerity that should be remarked in your work. Google aimed to evaluate the people who maintain the qualities for users rather than Search Engines and that is the thing makes the Google sharper than others!
