Are you ready for the summer junk season? Garage sales, flea markets, occasional sales, auctions, and estate sales abound! Thought you might enjoy these photos taken at Second Hand Rose in Buffalo, MN. Their April sale was excellent as always.

Not a lot of chatter today...mostly photos. Why? For junk like this, it's all about the photos, baby!

That chair above? It's not a normal size chair. That coat rack is a long, vintage ski...probably 6 feet, which means the chair is probably 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide. Yes, massive! Wouldn't that be a fun conversation starter at your poolside or lakeside retreat?

You might have seen my recent post about Found Salvage in Rockford, MN. Rockford is just down the road from Buffalo...one of the infamous occasional sale hubs of Minnesota. It's worth the short drive from Buffalo to Rockford to check out Angela's amazing finds.

Angela is the creative guru behind Found Salvage's urban chic collection of vintage and junk items. Seriously. This girl creates high end style with her eclectic mix of finds.

Junkologie Adventures: The Marina in Buffalo, MN

The handsome couple above are the owners of The Marina in Buffalo, MN. Everything about their store is eye-catching, breath-taking, and bordering on heart-stopping!

As I continued on my journey through Buffalo's April sales, I came upon their well-appointed store. Let me show you what I mean...

Are you captivated my these two large industrial planters like I am?

Seriously massive and seriously cool!

Add an iron bed with white linens to a rustic fence backdrop, and what do you have? The perfect mix.

This Litchfield Ice Cream Co. container...with casters!...would be great as a statement piece in a room.

How about this rolling industrial step stool? I'll take one, please!

Sheryl's stylings combined with her husband's ingenuity make for a fabulous shopping experience! The vignettes in their store were truly amazing. I chatted with them forever about their store and the special way that they help out the community. I'll get more details on that and share that with you in the future!

Found Salvage is the style child of none other than the vivacious Ms. Angela! I totally have a junk crush on her and her store in Rockford, MN! Why? I tend to love everything about her style and stylings. This was the first time I had been able to visit her store, but now that I know where it is, she might have to keep me away with a stick...or a junk restraining order. :) Since I don't live nearby, I love when she posts photos of her store on the Found Salvage Facebook page. Hear that, Angela? Photos! Photos! We want more photos!

Junkologie Adventures: Patina General in Buffalo, MN

The occasional sale adventure in Buffalo, MN, continues!

After my stops at Second Hand Rose, This & That, The Porch & Atelier, and Kathie's Finds, the next stop on the trail was Patina General.

This sexy industrial table (with casters) had me at hello as I walked in the front door. Helllllooooo! In case you are wondering, yes, a table can be sexy. Especially one like this!

Spring was in full force here! Cuter than cute were these eggs!

Vintage muffin pans for a floral display. So simple that it's genius!

The frosting on the spring cupcake? This workbench with chalkboard drawers. What? Must have!

I was able to meet Cheryl, one of the co-owners of Patina General, while I was there. I also received an email from the other owner, Lora, a few days later. "Minnesota nice" does not begin to cover their how special they are. Seriously...look at their photo...they are like apple pie and sunshine!! They just make me smile! If you'd like to learn a little bit more about them, check out their bios.

I look forward to visiting Patina General again...a mix of inspiring smalls with larger industrial pieces makes Amy a happy junker. :)

Junkologie Adventures: Kathie's Finds in Buffalo, MN

After my stops at Second Hand Rose, This & That, and The Porch & Atelier in Buffalo, MN, my next stop was Kathie's Finds...led by none other than Kathy herself...

While Kathy has been in the biz for a while, the Buffalo location is new. For your viewing pleasure, I snapped photos of some of the pieces that captured my industrial eye...

This amazing desk! Wish I had a spot for it!

Seriously! What? I can think of a million uses for these stacked wire baskets...on casters, to boot!

How about this metal shelf? Cool shape and great function!

Last, but not least, these striped pails caught my eye.

Love this little seal on the back side!

I will definitely be back, Kathy! In fact, I'm questioning whether I should have left these items in your store. However, my ideas are often grander than the size of my home! Anyone else have that issue?

Junkologie Adventures: The Porch & Atelier in Buffalo, MN

As my day of occasional sale-ing in Buffalo, MN, continued, my next stop was The Porch & Atelier. They do amazing upholstered projects there. I was quite smitten with this pair of chairs...

You can see that the sides and back are upholstered in a different fabric than the front. Lovely!

AND...they have a second story. As I headed down the stairs, I was greeted by tons of focused shoppers and an amazing variety of finds. This vintage locker room bench was a favorite crush of mine!

I didn't get a chance to speak with the owner, Teresa, this time around. She was super busy behind the counter getting everyone checked out! I simply ogled all the goods and dreamed of endless ways to incorporate their great items into my decor at WhisperWood Cottage.

Junkologie Adventures: This & That in Buffalo, MN

Don't you just love sidewalks like this? And with a sign that tells us exactly what to do? Shop. Shop. Shop. Just try and stop me!

This is at the entrance of This & That...another occasional sale store right next door to Second Hand Rose in Buffalo, MN (featured in my last post). While waiting in the checkout line, I had a great chat with the customers and staff. Hi, girls! The fun, positive vibe in this store made my great day even better.

There were a few extra special pieces that caught my eye. I am always a fan of vintage metal lawn chairs. Kind of a fun mint color on this one. And I was completely enamored with the massive ice cream sign. It would be fabulous in a kitchen! They also had an amazing set of vintage patio furniture...in a pastel pink with original cushions. I would have gotten a photo, but there were so many shoppers enjoying its comfort! :)

I did make a purchase at This & That. This awesome 1950s era medical/dental cabinet is super cool. Why? It's in great condition and the lights turn on when you open the door. Brilliant! I have plans for this bad boy.

Junkologie Adventures: Second Hand Rose in Buffalo, MN

Hello, fellow Junkologists! Are you ready to join me an occasional sale adventure? I have photos galore from a recent trip to Buffalo, MN. It's been waaaay too long since I've been to Buffalo. Lots of exciting things have happened...including new stores! I was thrilled to see all that Buffalo had to offer.

First stop on the occasional sale tour? None other than Second Hand Rose. Under new management since I had been there last, I wasn't sure what to expect. Let's just say that I was far from disappointed! From rustic to frilly, industrial to feminine, large to small, the vendors at Second Hand Rose ran the gamut with their variety. Check out what I mean...

Did I mention that they had an entire store's worth of merchandise outside, too? On the porch and under the tent, there were all kinds of rustic goodies that sparked my imagination!

I was glad to meet one of the new owners, Brad, in person. He and his wife, Amy, along with their vendors, have created a great space in which to find your next inspired home decor item. It was great to watch the expedient and friendly assistance that Brad and the shop staff gave to their customers. They worked hard to answer questions, check out customers, haul treasures, and generally keep up with the fast pace of the eager shoppers! :) I left there with a smile on my face, as I'm sure many happy treasure hunters did!

Mid-Century Modern Table Bases

These mid-century modern tables caught my eye at the auction a few weeks back.

The best part about mid-century modern furniture is the shape.

The lines on these pieces are amazing. So simple, yet so elegant.

A little TLC and a piece of glass for the top would make either of these instant treasures.

I wonder who ended up with these and what they did with them.

The lampshade below would have made an awesome chandelier...

My favorite lampshade had to be this one...

Now, THAT is one tall lampshade! Totally groovy!!

I've found several great lamps, chandeliers, and sconces at auctions, flea markets, and garage sales.

This year was the first time I had ever been to the Cambridge Antique Fair in Cambridge, MN.

I loved this set of St. Peter Jr. High School drum corps cases.

Loved this pair of mirrors, too! Hi, Angela of Found Salvage!

This great double bench is perfectly comfortable,

and it has an umbrella hole in the table to make it extra fun!

Sonic was the perfect place to head with friends, Lani of Cottage Elements, and Jan of Summerspell.

Nothing like a cherry limeade on a hot summer day of junking!

Loved these fabric dummies/mannequins at the Grand Rapids swap meet! These belonged to Todd, a vendor in Old Town Antiques in Duluth, MN. Wouldn't these be fun for Halloween? I'm sure some of you junkers could come up with a few other fun ideas!

Junk Photos: Vintage Jeweled Pins

I love when flea market and antique store vendors take time to create beautiful displays. Well-vignetted booths attract me like a moth to a flame.

This simple table-top vignette, with a burlap table cover, a carved mirror as a tray, and three vintage jeweled pins, was a delightful display by a vendor at the Grand Rapids swap meet. This is from the same vendor with the silverware and rusty bed spring display. Loved her booth! I'll have to see if I can find out her name!
