So with this years wedding season well and truly over and with us all knowing the low down on this Autumn/Winters newest trends the main focus now is the impending “Party Season Hair”…

So with the office christmas party looming and those cocktail party invites racking up and you already in a quandary as to how to wear your hair, then all you need to know is that “Half Up is THE NEW UP”… Not since Kate Middleton made it her wedding hairstyle of choice back in 2012 has the half up, half down do’ had such a moment. Kate looked undeniably beautiful on her wedding day but her hair was rather on the tame side… So The 2014 catwalk version is you’ll be pleased to hear a lot sassier with a grungy, textural undertone.

It’s not about creating a a half ponytail anymore – the focus now is on pulling the hair off the face and that can be achieved by as little as pinning two short strands of hair back. At the recent House of Holland catwalk collective a simple kirby grip held hair back off the face to great effect, and also seen at the Etro collective the long haired lovelies modelled a twisted rope or fishtail plait to add interest and definition to the new half up!! So whatever length of hair you have this look can be easily achieved, start with a great blow dry (add as much body and texture as possible) then simply add a slight wave or curl, flick or kick and opt for a fashion forward half up pinned back look or go for a more demure sexy tousled Bridgette Bardot inspired mussy half beehive…

All super easy to achieve and leaving you ready to dance the night away into this exciting party season and just remember “Half Up is THE NEW UP”

So with Autumn well and truly here why not take inspiration from this fall trend and opt for one of our favourite new colour techniques for Autumn/Winter 14 ‘The BRONZLiTES’…

The dip-dye and ombrè trend is still huge in the salon but we are loving this new, fresh take as some of our clients are wanting more colour intensity and richer warmer tones ready for the autumnal season change… ‘Bronzlites’ consists of adding a myriad of deeper base colours fused with warmer tones and using the lite technique you can be as subtle or as daring as you want and you can customise the colour placement to either frame lighter panels to farm your face or to add statement pieces in just the right place to suit your current look…

Start with a deep base colour of matte richè chocolate (this contains less red than a normal chocolate tone) or a bronzed dark blonde or any cool natural base for that matter then make your colour bespoke and unique by asking for contrasting colour panels where you need them… Try creamy blondes, pinky rose gold, strawberry blonde to soft caramel or opt for soft pastels, nudes or even a modern day baby pink. With these infusions of warm, rich tones your whole hair will feel lifted and refreshed.

So get to grips with this hottest colour trend and join the ‘Bronzlites Brigade’ like Sarah Jessica Parker and Megan Fox and bring bronzlites into a dull autumn…

The ten most iconic celebrity bobs have been named in a huge internet poll this week by The Hairdressers Journal International… The bob haircut has been around for decades and it has to be the most iconic, classic hairstyle to have stood the test of time…

Brought to the forefront by the late Vidal Sassoon, it has been copied and admired over the world by every female on the planet and after this weeks poll Victoria Beckham came out as queen of the bobs… Victorias ‘Pob’ (posh bob.. the name it was dubbed after her posh spice days fused with a killer bob) has taken the top spot and whilst she was known for her short, sleek style throughout her girl group days, it wasn’t until hairdresser Ben Cooke gave her an asymmetric short bob that the world sat up and took notice. Since then it’s been the one of the most memorable celebrity haircuts of all time, and one most copied and requested in every salon…

Following Victoria were two other fashion icons famed for their bob, 60’s designer Mary Quant and American Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Mary was one of the first to rock the Sassoon bob cut in the swinging sixties and she became the face of the Sassoon brand and her bob set the scene for the fashion forward way of thinking of that time and Anna Wintour is renowned for her fierce forward way of fashion thinking but her bob has always remained elegant and immaculate…

So here are the top 10 bobs of all times listed below:
1. Victoria Beckham
2. Mary Quant
3. Anna Wintour
4. Alexa Chung
5. Jennifer Aniston
6. Beyoncè
7. Rihanna
8. Fearne Cotton
9. Twiggy
10. Katy Perry

So take inspiration from any of the above and remember there is no better way to embrace Autumn/Winter with a new look and a flawless beautiful bob is a pretty good way to start..

For most Brits Autumn/Winter is the most favourite season of the year. British people dress better in the winter than they do in summer and we all much prefer wrapping ourselves in snugly coats and lots of layers… And with the shops well and truly stocked with the new season AW14 clothes, here’s all you need to know about the key trends…

60s Mods… Every season has its signature decade and this year it’s main focus is on the swinging 60s. Think knee high leather boots and luxe polo necks, ruffled leather shirts and printed tunics…

Fairytale… Think a dark and dangerous take on the modern fairy tale and indulge in embellished capes and ruby coats…

Normcore… Normcore is described as ‘perfectly boring fashion’ and the key to this trend is beautifully tailored trouser suits, soft wool jumpers and loads of classic grey, navy and black (nothing boring to me about that)…

Feeling Blue… pink has reigned supreme in recent seasons but the mighty blue has fought back. From colbalts to teals and everything in between we’ll all be feeling blue this autumn

So embrace these winter ready trends and hit the high street and grab yours before everyone else does!!

London Fashion week came and went quicker than you can say Cara Delevingne but it isn’t just on the catwalk that new trends are born.

Behind the scenes, the most talented hair and make-up artists in the world work like a well-oiled machine to set the next season’s hair and beauty trends… Here is the lowdown on the hot bed of emerging new hair trends seen on the catwalk and working there way into a salon near you ready for the start of 2015…

The catwalk was full of glitz and glam, with glitter, embellished diamanté and even soft lace all worked into hair by clever braiding techniques. This made the hair look like it was adorned and floating with accessories (this will be a huge trend for next summers bridal looks) Hair also went back in time to compliment the 1970’s/1990’s revival… 70’s saw effortless waved hair with that added flirtatious bounce and the 90’s saw new-rave inspired knots, plaits and twists now being hailed as the ‘cyber twist’…

So if these styles aren’t quite your thing then fear not… Classic tumbling waves and centre partings still reigned supreme and show no signs of making there fashion exit just yet, also undone glamour and sexy bed head hair for all lengths and textures is top of every fashionistas list and let natural texture shine thorough with the help of soft subtle colouring techniques, ombrè is out and childlike sun kissed panels are in….

So with London over and out and Milan Fashion Week in full swing here’s to a beautiful 2015…

Add a few drops of shine elixir for sleek smooth looks with diamond like shine and finally finish with Glamination shine hold hairspray (does exactly what it says on the tin) and is the icing on the glam cake…

So don’t just take my word for it pop into the salon and see the wonderus world of Glamination for yourself

THE Emmy Awards is the Oscars of the television world – a night when America’s small screen stars take the focus from their big screen counterparts.

Ensuring there was plenty of drama on the red carpet for 2014, this year’s best dressed ditched the safety of the black gown and embraced vibrant reds, pinks and coral. Leading the pack was January Jones in scarlet Prabal Gurung, while Claire Danes wore fire engine-red Givenchy and Christina Hendricks chose ruby Marchesa. At the rosier end of the colour spectrum, Zooey Deschanel chose magenta Oscar de la Renta, Julie Louis-Dreyfus was in crimson Carolina Herrera and Lena Durham wore a rainbow of pink hues in her cascading Giambattista Valli Couture… So take note of this huge emerging colour trend for Autumn/Winter and invest in every scarlet hue available.

So with scarlet safely stealing the limelight very scarlet embossed starlet also showcased another huge emerging trend that night for soft, sexy hair… Normally the red carpet is awash with stuff up-do’s but this new trend saw gorgeous cascading waves, textured big blow-drys and breezing a much needed breath of fresh hair into this awards were Halle Berry and Kaley Cuoco’s sharp crops!! Short hair ruled this scarlet coloured carpet and it will be making a huge impact on you too…
