Made up some yummy chocolate cookies,
Chocolate instant pudding is the secret to these moist cookies. I added cherry and chocolate chips to mine, but you could use any flavor you would like.

So here is my recipe:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 small package of chocolate instant pudding
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa
2 1/4 cup flour
1 t baking powder
1 t salt.
2 cups chocolate chips

Cream butter, shortening, brown sugar, instant pudding, 2 eggs, and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients. Drop round teaspoonful's onto greased cookie sheet. (I used parchment paper) about 1 inch apart. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes or until done.
Don't forget that I are sharing link party with Small Fine Print.

Now it is your turn to show off your stuff.
I did have the necessary pans to make them. I did run into issues with them sticking in the pans. The recipe also calls to pipe them in the pans. It turned into a messy process. I found the recipe on the web:
http://www.positivelysplendid.com/2013/02/baked-chocolate-cake-doughnuts.html

This did turn out tasty, and soft like a cake. My past attempts at making baked donuts resulted in them turning out dense.
I am SO excited to have Show Your Stuff team up with Small Fine Print. I would like to thank Mandy for approaching me about teaming up. So do go and check out her site.

So what I am sharing is another recipe my husband whipped up using instant scalloped potatoes. Me, personally, I am not a fan of box scalloped potatoes, so I thought it was just ok.

My sons and husband loved it!

So here is the recipe for Ham/ Potato casserole bake:

2 boxes scalloped potatoes
1b. Ham (diced)
8 oz. Frozen mixed Veggies
4 oz. Cheddar cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a 2 quart casserole dish prepare the boxes of scalloped potatoes as directed. Before placing casserole in oven add all other ingredients. Place uncovered on the middle rack and bake for 40-45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Remove from oven and let set for 5 minute.

So now it is your turn, Show off your DIY, crafts, recipes, ect.
Welcome back to another edition of Show Your Stuff. A few days ago I shared a crab ravioli recipe. I said I would share a cheesy potato recipe and now I am sharing it now.

Easy Cheesy Potatoes

1 small bag of frozen hash browns
1 onion - diced
8oz bag mild cheddar cheese
6 cups of crushed frosted flakes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
4oz of sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, Mix hash browns, onion, 2oz of cheddar cheese, 1 cup of frosted flakes, soup, sour cream, and salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Spread out on to lipped cooking sheet and spread evenly. Add rest of cheese and frosted flakes to top of pan. cook for 45-50 minutes or until frosted flakes start to brown

Chicken salad deluxe
One of the interesting things about this picture is that the sausage in missing. The bowl use to hold the sausage broke apart and we could not use the sausage. We were really bummed as we were looking forward to having the sausage as the main staple in this dish.

Polish Hash

1 lb. Favorite sausage (cut into 1/4 inch cubes)
2 large Russet potatoes (washed and cut into 1/4 inch cubes)
1/2 cup cut broccoli
1/2 cup cut Cauliflower
1/4 diced yellow onion
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1 -1lb. jar of Ragu double cheese sauce
1 T. garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
2 T. olive oil

Cut
and steam veggies until tender , set aside. Heat oil in saute pan place
potatoes in pan cook until potatoes are half done, add sausage, cook
until done. Add cheese sauce and spices, bring to simmer, add veggies,
stir well and let simmer on low for 10 minutes serve hot.
It is almost like a hotdogs immersed in corn bread, I am not a fan of corn bread so I was not crazy about this recipe.. So many years have passed and I make this recipe again, this time my family likes the recipe, so I will now occasionally make this recipe.

This weak I found myself making it again.

So if you are a fan of corn bread and hotdogs, you will like this recipe:

6 hot dogs
1 cup flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 Tablespoon chopped onion (original recipe calls for green onion)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoon melted butter
1/2 cup shredded cheese

Combine dry ingredients, mix in the egg, milk, and butter.

Add dough to greased 11 x 7 inch pan (I did mine in my favorite oblong bread pan), slightly press hot dogs evenly arranged in dough. cover with cheese.

Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes, or until the dough is done. Cut out and lift around the hot dog.

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 - 3 oz package of Lime Jello
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (or half of a 12 oz bag) cherry chips. (optional)

Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients. Form 1
inch ball, roll ball in sugar, place on baking sheet and flatten using
bottom of a glass. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes.

So now it is time to share what you have.
We had these for dinner tonight, and it was tasty.

So I am now sharing the recipe:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
8 oz medium cheddar brick cheese, cut into 1/4 inch squares
1 package onion/mushroom soup mix
1/4 cup honey BBQ sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients well, form into patties, refridgerate patties for at least 1 hour ( to firm them up). Grill patties until desired doneness.

Show Your Stuff #68 - Sugar Cookies

This week I am sharing a family traditional sugar cookie recipe.

The recipe originally came out of the Betty Crocker Cookie Book. My mom made a slight change to the recipe, and I also am putting my one spin on these cookies. I found that this recipe in close the Jello Cookie recipe.

So here is my recipe:

3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients. Form 1 inch ball, roll ball in sugar, place on baking sheet and flatten using bottom of a glass. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 8 minutes.

I wanted to add some other ingredients, but my son was sceptical. He wanted to keep it simple. Tomato Soup and Ramen.

So I made the sauce using:

1 can of tomato soup
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup sour cream (can substitute with milk)
*1-2 packets of the beef ramen seasoning (I used 2 packets and I thought it was overwhelming)

Melt the butter in saucepan, add the tomato soup, sour cream, and seasoning packet. Heat up until warm.

Cook 2 packages of ramen noodles in about 6 cups of boiling water for about 5 minute, or until done.
Drain and add to the sauce. Enjoy!
I like to have cookies for my lunch, and so I made some since we were out.

So....I found a package of Orange Jello in the cupboard and a bag of chocolate chips.

Bingo! Orange Jello Chocolate Chip Cookies are born!

So first I had to find a Jello cookie recipe, and I found one here. So here is my version using the recipe.

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon orange zest (optional - but recommended)
juice of a orange (optional)
1 - 3 oz package of Orange Jello
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (or half of a 12 oz bag) chocolate chips.

Cream butter, shortening, sugar, Jello, orange zest, orange juice, eggs, and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. (I did not sift my dry ingredients, worked out o.k.) and mix in with the creamed ingredients, add the chocolate chips.

Make one inch-ish balls, coat the balls in granulated sugar, place on baking sheet about 2 inches apart. flatten cookie with bottom of glass. Bake in 350 degree oven for 8 minutes. Cool on wire rack and store in airtight container.

Here is the original recipe from the web site, with my husband's changes in red:

Ingredients:

This is the chicken breading

8 oz halved mushrooms

1 quart olive oil for frying

2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Directions:

1.

Sift flour, 2
tablespoons cornstarch, baking soda, and baking powder into a bowl. Pour
in low-sodium soy sauce, sherry, 2 tablespoons water, vegetable oil,
and a dash of sesame oil; stir until smooth. Stir in chicken until
coated with the batter, then cover, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

2.

Meanwhile, bring
chicken broth, sugar, vinegar, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, chile paste, garlic, sesame seed, and ginger to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Dissolve 1/4 cup
cornstarch into 1/2 cup of water, and stir into boiling sauce. Simmer
until the sauce thickens and turns clear, about 2 minutes. Reduce heat
to low, and keep sauce warm. Saute the onion, red and green peppers and mushrooms add to the sauce.

3.

Heat olive oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to a temperature of 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

4.

Drop in the battered
chicken pieces, a few at a time, and fry until they turn golden brown
and float to the top of the oil, 3 to 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel
lined plate. To serve, place fried chicken pieces onto a serving
platter, and pour the hot sauce overtop. Sprinkle with toasted sesame
seeds to garnish.

This week my husband created this lovely dessert. It is easy to make also.

Strawberry delight

1 angel food cake (cut into bite size pieces)
1 pint strawberries (cut into bite size pieces)
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 2oz. package Strawberry jello
16 oz Cool whip

In large mixing bowl combine all ingredients until well mixed. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

This is the same recipe as the vanilla home made ice cream, except I tried it out using brown sugar. My husband did not like how it turned out, he said it was good going down, but left a film in his mouth.

I thought it was good.......

Baked thai fish W/orange sauce
4 - 8 oz. fish filets (your choice of fish)
1 cup crushed peanuts
thai peanut sauce
2 oranges
1/2 cup orange juice
1/8 cup parsley
2 teaspoons cornstarch

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place fish on baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lightly brush fish with peanut sauce and sprinkle crushed peanuts over fish. Bake 10 minutes or until hot and flakey. Peel oranges and place in blender with juice, parsley, and corn starch. Blend until smooth. Place in small sauce pan and boil until thickened. Place ladle of sauce on plate then cooked fish off to side of sauce. Serve right away.
