I spent 3 weeks in KK last month! Awesome huh?!

Thanks to the Company for being very understanding. I was thinking to apply for an advance leave.. thanks God for the HR arrangement. Basically, I was on partial leaves and partial working! Not going to rant bout the working stuff...

My 3rd trip to Penang! Was there last year too...

We took direct flight to Penang this round and coming back KL too..

Day 1

Early breakfast at the hotel.

Took CAT shuttle bus to Komtar and took another bus no 204 to Penang Hill aka Bukit Bendera.

Penang Hill is on our top list which must be ticked, by hook or by crook. LOL

Arrived Penang Hill at 9.30am. Less crowd outside but long queue inside. We wanted to avoid the queue, so decided to go for Fast Lane which cost us RM30/adult. Terus rasa mcm VVIP. Kikikiki... Normal rate is RM10.

We reached the top in 8mins! It would be great if only they limit passengers from entering the train based on seating availability. Passengers are standing and we can't really enjoy the view. Huhuhu..

I didn't managed to explore everything on top of the hill, but I love the Sky Walk & Love Lock area. Wondering when I can get to Namsan Tower. Hmmm...

I feel tiny around them!

We had quick lunch at Nasi Kandar Pokok Ketapang, walking distance from our hotel, before we took CAT bus to komtar and decided to just walk to Penang Times Square. Can we blame the Transformers yang berdiri dengan megah di sini... LOL

We were stranded here for more than 3 hours before we called Grab to pick us up. It was downpour the whole evening until nite and we had to cancel Fort Cornwallis which is suppose to be our next pit-stop.

Day 3

Breakfast at Roti Canai Transfer Road. Full table semua! The 'waiter' will only take order for drinks and roti canai. As for the roti bakar wt eggs, self-service yer!

You can't leave Penang without the famous Jeruk Madu Pak Ali, one of the store is next to the old building of Chowrasta, facing the main road.

Till then.. bubbye Penang!

I guess I have to come back Penang again for Fort Cornwallis! LOL

272 Steps of Batu Caves

Climbing the 272 steps of Batu Caves has been in my bucket list since forever... coz I always wonder if I can do it. hahahha!!

After staying here in KL since 1999, my very first visit to Batu Caves was in December 2014. 3 days before I sent mom and the kids back to KK for good and 3 weeks after my major surgery. And that explain why I didn't manage to climb the steps back then. And I thought that would be my last visit. Hahaaa..

I think we took bout 6mins to reach at the top considering some photo sessions while climbing. LOL

Pustaka Peringatan P. Ramlee located at 22, Jalan Dedap, Taman P. Ramlee, Setapak, KL. It's between Bulatan Pahang & Setapak Central. It's a quiet housing area.

Seriously I never know about this place. Padahal dekat jer pun!!

Ryanna ~ Journey to Primary 1

Sometime in March 2015, we have registered Ryanna to enroll Primary 1 at SJK (C) Hwa Shiong. It has to be Hwa Shiong no matter what.. BECAUSE dekat dari rumah! Kikikiki…

Beside the slip of confirmation of registration, to my surprise, Hwa Shiong has also set a date for an assessment (ujian saringan) which to be conducted the following year. It was supposed to be in Aug this year.

I was lucky because Hwa Shiong changed the date to July and so happened I was still in KK for Raya trip. It’s always great to be my kids’ pom-pom girl! LOL

Somehow, I still feel sad and wanted Rayyan to be in Chinese school too.. Tepa la.. bkn rezeki Rayyan masuk chinese school tapi Rayyan dapat rezeki lain.. will rant in next entry.. ^_^

Actually, the last month trip was a 'business' trip... Need to attend to some official matter. However, it was not resolved and has been postponed to Nov. I may want to rant bout it in future, after everything is settled. May be laa..

Basically, there were 3 things on the list for the trip; the official matter, the red-theme-wedding & short vacay with my 2 friends, Lin & Lia whom flew to KK, the next day after the wedding! Yeayy...

Day 1

9.30am - arrival at KK airport. My aunt dropped me & kids at the airport. We have booked a car to rent. If you are looking for one, please look for Ah Boon 016-969 7505. The rental of Saga flx 1.3 auto for 2.5 days is RM250 + RM100 deposit. There were some internal miscommunication between them, we ended up driving an Innova on the first day before they changed it at night.

The original plan was to go to Gaya Street, but Lin's has to take shower coz she went straight to airport from a funeral. So, we headed to Putatan. Had our breakfast at Sinar Mustika before check-in at the nearby hotel, Adel Hotel. Why Adel Hotel? Because near my house! LOL

3.00pm - After picked up my mom, we went to Pasar KK & Pasar Filipin. They did the shopping right away before we proceeded to Salut, Jalan Sulaman.

4.45pm - Salut. At first, we wanted to go to Rumah Terbalik, but it was already 4pm+. So, we skipped Rumah Terbalik. The must try at Salut is Coconut Puding & Lokan Bakar! Unfortunately, the lokan bakar has these fishy taste. Errkkk.. Of coz, they were frustrated.

6pm - Jambatan Tamparuli. It was a very quick stop since it was already dark and drizzling. Honestly, this was my very first time stepping on the bridge! Hahaahah.. Walau di hujung jambatan saja, bila turun, rasa mcm ada spring tu badan! Kikikikiki...

We wanted to have dinner at Pasar KK, the one near Segama. Its cleaner compare to stalls at Pasar Filipin. However, it was raining that night. So, dinner at the host's house! Ikan masin + telur goreng! Kesian tetamu.. Hahaha

Day 2

Morning - attended my official matter before headed to Kundasang, Ranau

3pm - Arrival at Kundasang. Had our late lunch before we spent our 'quality-photo-sessions' at Desa Dairy Farm. No souvenirs-fruits-buying at all! Huhuhu.. Punya la!! Guess what.. it was my very first time here as well.. sandi!!

I asked them to came over my house for Tarap session. Hahaha... Then, we went to CP since Lia wanna make some currency exchange. She is travelling to Japan the following day. Gilaa!!

We just lepak at BK before they proceed to airport & fly back to KL and I have to join my cousins & aunts at the next building. Hehehee...

There goes our short vacay in KK! Shall repeat with full programme! I'm a happy lady host... ^_^

Nikah & 1st reception was held at the bride's hometown, Seremban 2 on 5.8.16 & 6.8.16 respectively. Yup.. obviously, my cousin, Marvin married to Malayan's Sumandak. Oppss... no offense ok!

Reception at the groom's side was held at Kg Kelatuan, Papar on 27.8.16. I am very glad that I made it!! I reached KK on the night before. So, I managed to give hands on some last minute tasks.

Since the wedding theme was RED, we were all dressed up in RED as if it is CNY!

Having to compare with Doctors & Uncontrollably Fond, I prefer W!

As I always enjoy fantasy genre and this W with it's suspense, it's killin' me! LOL

Not to mention the hero & heroin, Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo!

Have just watched the latest ep of W, the 6th ep... and now have to wait another week.. grrr...

They are just cute together!

Is it too much to ask for episodes extension.. LOL!

Both hubby & wife are Sarawakian. The hubby from Limbang and the wife from Miri.

Am back to routine after more than 2 weeks leave..

Kids welcomed me with a run-big-warm-hug and shout out "riinndu mamy!". Oh dearrr... I feel bad for them. Huhuhu...

Anyway, this year theme is MUSTARD but somehow they look like GOLD to me. Hahahah...

We spent 3 nites at my aunt's house in Papar for Raya this year.

It’s been a while…

I miss my blog… I wanted to rant here… but I guess I got myself 'locked up' after what happened recently…

Yeahh... Life gimme another hiccup... A great one!

I have been ‘inactive’ in most of my social networking channels. I didn’t update my FB as much as before. I only ‘like’ some status. I don’t really comment others status. Not really replying in whatsapp groups. They make me sounds like I’m really depressed am I??

Naaa… I’m not that down actually. Let just say things will never be the same anymore after this but I’m okay and I’ll be just fine. Will keep the positive vibe around me for sure, like I always do… BECAUSE I am blessed to be surrounded by great friends and family who always pat on my shoulder. I have been smiling yet they know I'm crying inside.

I am going to be strong coz it's gonna be a looonngg journey ahead!

Before this... every time others ask me whether I'm a Chinese or do I have Chinese mixed blood, I will confidently answer NO. But, my colleagues keep on wondering why I celebrate CNY.

In case you are not aware, my mom is a Dusun Tatana from Kuala Penyu and my dad is a Dusun from Tenom (I thought he is a Murut.. kekeke). Since I'm more to my mom's side, so I proudly introduce myself as Dusun Tatana's sumandak. (sumandak la mengkali.. haha!) Even in wikipedia stated that CNY is commonly celebrate by the Dusun Tatana.

Thanks to the Survivor first Season aired in 2000 which took place in Pulau Tiga, Kuala Penyu. Famous terus my mom's kampung! The pulau is also famous for its therapeutic natural volcanic mud. Nowadays, the pulau is name after the tv show, "Survivor Island". Sad to say, I have never been to the island. Huhuhu...

SEJARAH DUSUN TATANA : Sejarah Orang Kaya Si Lasak Bundu

Sekitar tahun 1736 sebuah kapal dagang Cina jenis "Wang kang" telah bertolak dari Brunei memasuki Wilayah Klias melalui laluan sungai ,pada masa ini wujud perdagangan antara Brunei dengan Dinasti Ching(Qing)1644-1914,kapal dagang ini membawa daging manis kering ,peralatan memasak dan sutera.Serang kapal tersebut digelar Si Lasak setelah wujudnya dahagi pada kapal tersebut, telah membuat keputusan untuk berlabuh di sekitar sungai Klias.Pada masa tersebut kapal dagang ini dengan awak-awaknya sekitar 100 orang lengkap bersenjata bagi pertahanan dari serangan lanun ,adakalanya mereka ini juga melakukan kegiatan lanun sekiranya perlu.Si Lasak setelah mendarat di Bundu telah berkawin dengan anak kepada Ketua kampung tersebut dan membuka sebuah ladang lada hitam,hasil tuaiannya diperdagangkan kembali dengan pedagang Cina yang membawa pakaian ,peralatan memasak,teh,halia dan barangan kosmetik. Si Lasak diiktiraf sebagai ketua kepada suku Dusun dan dianugerahkan darjat daripada Sultan Brunei dengan gelaran Orang Kaya.

Asal usul Dusun Tatana peranakan Cina

Berdasarkan laporan British North Borneo Herald 1 Haribulan Jun 1886, terdapat satu komuniti di Wilayah Bundu ini yang berketurunan Cina dan telah berkahwin dengan suku lain iaitu Bisayah,Dusun dan Brunei mereka ini akhirnya dikenali sebagai Dusun Tatana,sesetengah rumah mereka masih terdapat balai pemujaan ,patung dewa dan gambar semangat,mereka juga masih mempunyai rambut yang bertocang walaupun telah meninggalkan ajaran konfusius dan menggelar diri mereka sebagai orang asal.Kebanyakan mereka tidak lagi fasih berbahasa Cina dan telah mengambil nama-nama tempatan dan gelaran yang telah diberikan oleh Sultan Brunei atau ketua adat Brunei.Laporan seterusnya turut menyatakan serangan pemburu kepala suku Murut dari sebuah gunung telah turun dan menyerang Bundu menyebabkan banyak komunitinya terbunuh.

Kaamatan's mood again!
The last time I put on KadazanDusun traditional costume (baju kadazan urang Sabah bilang)
was on my big day in 2007
and I only realize that I never post a photo of them here

My 2nd time participation in Unduk Ngadau in 98'..

Upon ranting here, I notice that I will be wearing baju kadazan at least every 10yrs..

Agent buat hal!! We called Dumba Bay Resort a day earlier just to make sure our reservation has been made. Guess what?! Our name was not in their list. We called up the agent. Agent kept on saying we don’t have to worry coz they will sort out with the resort and make sure we will get our room. Ended up... the resort has to ‘pinjam’ a room from the neighbor-resort, Marina Bay Resort. Ok, we have a room… hmmm… I hope, Flywind Holidays, the agent will improvise their service in future.

We chose to take bus from KL to Kluang. Overnight at Kluang and take bus the next morning to Mersing. Our bus to Kluang was scheduled 9.45pm on Thursday nite. We were supposed to take only 1 train from Sentul Timur to Bandar Tasik Selatan. Due to ‘laluan tren ke Sri Petaling ditutup’, and we don’t have any driver to send us to TBS. We have to take 3 trains to reach TBS. Sentul Timur – Masjid Jamek – KL Sentral (Rapid) and took KLIA Express to TBS. We were panicked and worried that we might not be able to catch our bus! Phewww…

Our bus from Kluang to Mersing supposed scheduled at 10.30am. Due to air-cond problem, have to wait another bus for half an hour.

I think Mersing ferry terminal has lousy system! You have to queue to pay for the Marine Park fee and National Park fee, RM5 each and another queue to get your ferry ticket. You will need to show your MyKad for the ferry ticket. And again, queue to get your Boading Pass. Different colour of Boading Pass for different ferry schedule. So, please be there at the Terminal at least 1 hour before departure. Our ferry supposed to be 2pm but the ferry has already full. So, we have to take extra-provided ferry which is smaller and stuffy. The ferry schedule doesn’t seem to be correct either! Oh, it’s free seating ferry.

The Marina Bay Resort is not next to next with Dumba Bay Resort. It was quite a distance. We are ok even it is not sea view resort but hilly?! Ok, not that hilly but enough say that it was totally not convenient at all! What more when we have to experience no-electricity every single day?! Even it was not only less than half an hour, but for us to climb down and climb up from our room to the counter was an issue!

Coming back KL, ferry & bus transits took us approx. 12 hours to reach home... Dah mcm naik tren dari Hatyai – KL. Phewwww…

Dalam bas balik KL, baru perasan my right ankle were swollen. Tak perasan pun ada terjatuh ke apa. Elok je buat lompatan maut. Tak sakit & still boleh jalan. Hari ke-2 balik dari Tioman, spotted reddish dots on both legs. Mula la risau. So, p klinik. Dapat la cocok tetanus & alergik. Baru la beransur pulih. Mmg Tioman attack betul! Huhuhu..

Actually, ada benda mistik happen malam terakhir tu. Lucky juga sbb I jenis tido mati. Both Tunung & Lin dengar bunyi something mencakar dekat dinding atas kepala kitaorang. seram tak?! Huhuhu…

We can't help ourselves but to compare the escape with our Redang trip... not until I found this quote today..

In other words, enjoy the journey, not the destination...

Can you believe that we had actually climbing the staircase up till the 39th floor..

Just because we wanted to avoid to passenger hoist..

Uhh that will be scary!

But the most importantly,

it feels great to be able to see the transformation of an empty land to a 39-floor building!

Fuhhh...

Mcm saya pula yang bina bangunan tu! Poyo!! Ahahaaha..

Snorkeling day!

Before breakfast, we had our quickie photo session. Harusss kannn…

Actually, we were looking for underwater camera rental. Unfortunately, there are none in Kg Genting. Punya la unbelievable! Time nie la menyesal sbb tiada gopro atau yang sewaktu dengannya. Huhuhuhhu…

9am : Gathered at jetty

9.30am : Departed from jetty

9.50am : Pulau Renggis – 1^st snorkeling spot

10.30am : Done 1^st snorkeling session

10.40am : Marine Park – 2^nd snorkeling spot

12.00pm : Lunch at Marine Park jetty

12.30pm : Kg Tekek – Duty free shop

2.00pm : Back to Kg Genting / Resort

Basically, the snorkeling sessions only half day! Huhuhu..

Charging our ‘battery’ in the room before we catch the sunset again that evening..

As for dinner, another round of wefie! Hahahaha…

12.30pm : getting ready at jetty.. Padahal, ferry pukul 2pm! Grrrrr…

Berebut naik ferry time ni! Huhuhuh

1.25pm : Ferry departed. So, we thought we will be arriving early at Mersing. But then, the ferry went to Kg Tekek’s jetty to fetch passengers. The ferry was full house! Ramai penumpang lain yang terpaksa berdiri. Huhuhuhhu…

2.30pm : Finally, ferry departed to Mersing. We were worried that we might not be able to catch 5pm bus to KL.

4pm : Arrival Mersing Jetty Terminal. Rushed to bus terminal. We were kinda frustrated that there were no direct buses from Mersing to KL. We have to take bus from Mersing to Kluang and take another bus from Kluang to KL. Arghhh… stress!

5.30pm : Bus departed from Mersing to Kluang. Before that, sempat isi perut. Kelam kabut sebab order lambat sampai! Slow servis..

While waiting for our bus, we spotted shuttle bus from the bus terminal to jetty terminal. Huhuhuh… If you are not in rush, why not ride the shuttle bus… kann?!

7pm : Arrival Kluang. Sempat la lepak ngan kawan Lin sekejap.

8.30pm : Bus departed from Kluang to KL

12am : Arrival TBS

12.45am : Reached home

It took us approx. 12 hours to reach home! Goshhh… Those ferry & bus transits made us exhausted. Huhuhu…

At the end, we still compare the trip with Redang and Redang still nombor 1 di hati! Hahahaha…

Next, looking forward for Perhentian or Koh Lipe??! Hehehehe...

Another island escape was successfully ticked this year! Alhamdulillah…

Me and my friends started this mission last two years. Flagged off with Redang. The most memorable and enjoyable escape so far. Then, we went to Pangkor last year. An island escape will not be complete without snorkeling session. So, Pangkor was not as enjoy as Redang. Hahaha…

For this year, we went to Tioman. The trip was not smooth tho’. Will post different entry for behind the scene. Hehehhe..

Btw, it was only me, Lin & Tunung this round. Lia was busy with her Korea trip. Huhuhu..

31/3/16 (Thurs)

Due to train problem, laluan ke sri petaling ditutup (what the fissshh!), we have to take longer route i.e. We have to go all the way to KL Sentral and took KLIA Transit for us to reach Bdr Tasik Selatan (TBS). My goodness! Luckily, we made it just on time!

Our bus from TBS to Kluang scheduled at 9.45pm. So, we reached Kluang at bout 1am.

Why Kluang and not Mersing? To reduce risk! Well, you know laa.. bus.. midnight.. accident.. choy!! Since we will be staying for free at Lin’s hse at Kluang, so no issue la kan… Sorry makcik, kejut malam2 buka pintu! Thanks to Lin’s bro too sebab fetch us tgh2 mlm. Huhuhuhu

1/4/16 (Fri)

Our bus from Kluang to Mersing scheduled at 10.30am but due to bus air-cond breakdown, we have to wait for another bus for about half an hour to depart.

Route journey from Kluang to Mersing mmg bikin mabuk. So, you better take your medicine if you have motion sickness. Huuhu..

We finally arrived Mersing about 12.30pm. From the bus station, you have to walk bout 15 mins to get to the ferry terminal. Basah juga la ketiak.. tengahari buta plak kan… Phewww…

We looked for our agent. She just handed us our ferry ticket (return) and also sticker of Dumba Bay Resort. While Tunung queued to register ourselves at Kg Genting’s counter (IC needed), me & Lin queue for Marine Park & National Park tickets, RM5/pax each ticket.

Our 2pm ferry has already full, so we have to wait for next ferry. Extra one! As per ferry schedule, only two ferries available i.e. 2pm & 5pm. Hmmm… Don’t forget to queue for the boarding pass. Different colour of boarding pass for different boarding time. The system kinda messy! Huhuhu…

Luckily, we didn’t wait long for the next ferry. Kinda stuffy. Free seating yaa..

There are few jetties in Tioman. So, make sure you know which jetty to stop i.e. Kg Genting, Kg Paya, Kg Tekek & Kg Salang. Our resort is at 1^st jetty, Kg Genting. It took about one and half an hour from Mersing Jetty to Kg Genting Jetty.

We have some issues with our resort and agent actually. Will rant in behind the scene entry later.

We have no choice but to stay at Marina Bay Resort instead of Dumba Bay Resort. The fact that Marina Bay is at hilly spot instead of the sea-front Dumba Bay Resort really disappoint us. Hmmm…

Before Maghrib, we had our 1^st session of sunset photography session. But, 30 mins just aint enough. Hahahaa.. Padahal, sudah bersantik-santik! Kekekekek…

It was BBQ for dinner… unlike Redang, the BBQ was all prepared and served by the resort’s staffs. After dinner, some of the groups enjoyed karaoke-ing while we just enjoyed wefie! LOL
