All the changes and improvements were more than welcome but unfortunately, one particular improvement caused the well known Diablo 3 gold dupe exploit. Due to some coding gaps, players were able to duplicate their gold using the RMAH. This issue caused the GAH and RMAH to be taken down as Blizzard attempted to manually adjust and reverse transactions and ban the accounts that abused the glitch. Despite the developer’s efforts to correct the problem without forcing a rollback and just wipe the progress of honest players, some community members remained unsatisfied. It seems that a rollback would have been more appreciated by some. The discontent of a few players turned into a rather interesting forum thread. Class action lawsuit threats have been posted on the battle.net forums. A few players started a debate around the possibility to sue Blizzard for this exploit. Their argument is that the value of the items has not been protected despite the fact that the ones who abused it were banned and the duplicated gold has been removed from the economy. Some were able to create trillions of gold out of thin air. Just one trillion gold is worth $25.000 at the rate of $0.25 per million. Things become even more dramatic as it seems that the ones that found the exploit early managed to get tens of times more which translates into hundreds of thousands of dollars. Fortunately, Blizzard banned and removed the gold from the market and the players accounts. On the other hand, class action lawsuit threats are not something new. Fortunately, Blizzard banned and removed the gold from the market and the players accounts.

On the other hand, class action lawsuit threats are not something new. Ever since the game was launched, multiple issues were reported and on several occasions, players ended up threatening the company to take them to court. In some cases, the threats turned into actual lawsuits and even the government was involved. The Koreans managed to get refunds from Blizzard on the argument that the game was not finished and the launch was not all that successful due to login errors.

For this particular scenario, the players want to sue Blizzard because they do not agree with how the issue was handled. Skepticism that the case will not stand in a court of law did not fail to appear amongst the community members but some of the mentioned similar cases with companies like THQ. Only time will tell if the players will take any kind of action and get the case filed or just forget about the incident.

This time around, Blizzard published an interview with a player known as Schnutti. The gamer managed to achieve quite a few milestones in Diablo 3 which got the attention of the game developer. For Schnutti, the grind for Paragon leveling just ended and not for his favorite character but for all the classes. The player had the patience to level from 0 t 60 all five classes and get them to Paragon 100. There are still millions of players that do not have even one toon maxed out. His feat is truly impressive. When Blizzard added the patch that introduced Paragon leveling, simple math calculations concluded that it would take months to reach level 100. An average player could spend as much as one year to achieve this just for one character. Schnutti pushed himself to the limits and managed to accomplish this impressive feat. The gamer went into a few details of how he achieved it, the route he used, monster power levels, hours played daily and even some statistics about which class is the easiest to level up. His advices can be useful for all the players that are stuck or need a few hints on how to do it faster. The most interesting part of this piece of news is that the comments to the article revealed other interesting facts. User GlowSticks got 10 characters to Paragon 100. He has all 5 classes both male and female leveled up to the max. He posted his achievement the same day the Schnutti was published but there is a much more interesting fact that needs to be mentioned about this topic. He posted his achievement the same day the Schnutti was published but there is a much more interesting fact that needs to be mentioned about this topic. Just like the others, GlowSticks did not focus on getting gold and upgrading the gear for each of his toon. The gear has been recycled with the aid of the auction house, focusing strictly on speed Paragon leveling.

None of them managed to get world first for their effort. On January 29th, Chaos, another dedicated gamer, posted on the forums the fact that he finished the grind for Paragon 100 on all five classes. Some might say that these players finished Diablo 3 and there is nothing else to do. Truth be told, there is still something left to be done. The community has yet to see this achievement accomplished on Hardcore difficulty.

Required Level: 60 Build thanks to: CORExpertGaming Barbarians have been suffering in terms of build diversity. Patch 1.0.8 came with quite a few changes to provide a few alternatives to the classical double tornado build. This particular Diablo 3 Barbarian solo Inferno build has been thought out as a replacement with elite farming in mind. Hammer of the Ancients provides a lot of damage at the expense of Fury which will prove to be quite important for the build. Even if the build is not as efficient for large packs of mobs, it works decently against small groups, especially Elite and Champion packs. This makes it less efficient for Paragon farming but great for treasure hunting. AoE skills are not completely compromised but the efficiency of the build has been proven by the creator to work best on elite packs.
Let’s start with the skill setup:

Left Mouse Button – Hammer of the Ancients with the Smash rune

Check out the Skill Calculator here

The Mechanics of the Build:

Gear is fairly important to this build. The biggest damage output is achieved with a two handed weapon with a lot of base damage. With a decent one hand weapon like a good Skorn, Rend becomes more efficient when fighting larger packs. It will also help to drain down elite packs. Attack speed on a two handed weapon will affect how often the Tornados will proc for damage when Sprint is used and the ticks of the Rend DoT damage will be affected but the biggest benefit is the damage output of Hammer of the Ancients.

Hammer of the Ancients has been buffed significantly a few patches ago. The Smash rune increases the damage to 406% weapon damage to all enemies in the strike area.

AoE damage can be enhanced with Attack Speed. Unfortunately, after 18% IAS, the benefits begin to diminish making it not worth the investment to get anything above that. In theory, 18% IAS means 18% more Tornado and Rend ticks per minute which tends to count a lot when the only way to an elite pack is trough a lot of trash mobs.

As mentioned, Hammer of the Ancients will be the main source of burst damage. It can be considered a burst damage skill despite the fact that it does not have a cooldown but it costs 20 Fury to cast. Even with Animosity, the skill cannot be used more than 6 times (2436% total weapon damage dealt with 6 hits) at full Fury. To make it a bit more spammable, some regen would be excellent. Battle Rage into the Fray combined with a decent critical hit chance will surely make a difference. For this purpose, the combination of Ruthless (5% extra crit), Weapons Master (10% critical hit chance with axes) and a Skorn is perfect for the build. Things get even better if a Templar is used for his 8% Fury regeneration.

If gold is not a problem, a Stone of Jordan would also be great. It can provide some extra Fury and some decent stats.

Patch 1.0.8 was just deployed on the live servers across all realms and despite the many additions and improvements to the game, the first Diablo 3 gold dupe exploit managed to make its way trough. The gold dupe bug was is the result of a chain reaction. As of patch 1.0.8, the stack size of gold when selling it on the RMAH has been increased from 1 to 10 million while the minimum listing price has remained the same. Opportunists rushed to sell gems for real money and then bought cheap gold. Many of them managed to get billions this way. Sounds like a smart practice but it will not last long as prices tend to stabilize in time but this is not the worst part. Players that managed to get at least 6 billion gold into their account could double their money over and over again. The gold dupe bug is fairly simple. All the player has to do is to list 6 billion on the RMAH and the cancel immediately. In a normal situation he would get the amount listed back but apparently, the RMAH returns double the amount. One player managed to get trillions of gold using this method and he had no problem sharing this newly found exploit on his livestream. His video can be watched below. As soon as this gold dupe exploit has been signaled to Blizzard, the game developer took the AH and RMAH down to fix the problem. As of now, the issue has been fixed but the community demanded justice. A handful of players got the chance to create gold out of thin air.

As soon as this gold dupe exploit has been signaled to Blizzard, the game developer took the AH and RMAH down to fix the problem. As of now, the issue has been fixed but the community demanded justice. A handful of players got the chance to create gold out of thin air. Many have proposed a roll back but according to Blizzard, this is not the best approach. According to the game developers, not that many players got to abuse the gold dupe bug and the damage has been contained. A roll back would hurt honest players and their progress since patch 1.0.8 has been deployed.

At this time (and after careful consideration), we’ve decided to not move forward with rolling back the servers. We feel that this is the best course of action given the nature of the dupe, how relatively few players used it, and the fact that its effects were fairly limited within the region. We’ve been able to successfully identify players who duplicated gold by using this specific bug, and are focusing on these accounts to make corrections. While this is a time-consuming and very detailed process, we feel it’s the most appropriate choice for us to make, and really what’s in the best interest of the community. We know that some of you may disagree, and we respect that, but we feel that performing a full roll back would impact the community in an even greater way, as it would require significant downtime as well as revert the progress legitimate players have made since patch 1.0.8 was released this morning.

Players got banned for abusing the bug and creating artificial gold. Blizzard acted timely and prevented a severe economy meltdown. This time, the reaction speed and containment measures managed to fix the Diablo 3 gold dupe bug in just a few hours since it has been signaled by the players.

Patch 1.0.8 is now running across all Diablo 3 servers. After quite a few weeks of testing on the Public Test Realms, Blizzard has finally decided to end the trials and get it running across all live environments. Multiple changes and improvements have been implemented but several bugs have managed to slip even if some of them were signaled during the testing period. As soon as the servers went up, players noticed the first bug right on the login screen. Even if the bug in question is merely a visual glitch, Diablo 3 fans jumped over the forums to signal that their characters showed different gear than what they really have equipped. The second bug that got the attention of the game developers is a Barbarian Inspiring Presence skill issue. For unknown reasons, the skill does not affect the Barb in some cases. It seems that it a bug that occurs randomly. This bug and the login screen visual glitch are being taken care of by Blizzard. Leaving the bugs aside, Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.8 does offer a few new additions to the gameplay and mechanics that are worth looking at. Matchmaking has been improved and players now have the option to find games based on multiple criteria to ensure that the group shares the same interests such as questing, farming, brawling. At the same time, monster density across all acts has been balanced to provide some form of diversity when it comes to gear and Paragon farming. The ones that got bored of farming Act 3 on Inferno will surely appreciate this change. At the same time, Blizzard attempted to make co-op gameplay more rewarding. Players will get a 10% Magic Find, Gold Find and experience boost per additional player up to a maximum of 30% that is added [...]

On the other hand, the disruptions around the bug were divided. Some complain that older bugs were never fixed like the Barbarian Whirlwind bug which causes disconnects to occur in certain situations.

One of the biggest Blizzard announcements so far this year has been the porting of Diablo 3 to PlayStation 3. The project seems to be getting closer to completion as the game developer just announced the availability of preorders via some of the major retailers. The hype began earlier this week when some users took a photo of a poster advertising Diablo 3 for PlayStation 3 preorders. Later on, Amazon listed the game as well. Right now, the blockbuster dungeon crawler RPG can be found on all the major websites as preorder but this is not all. Blizzard prepared a special treat and all the anxious console enthusiasts will also get a bonus if they buy Diablo 3 before its release date. The extra perk comes in the form of an ingame item. Players will get the “Infernal Help” which offers a consistent experience bonus. According to the blue post, other goodies might be offered on top of the helm. Certain retailers might offer additional bonuses but no details were given. In terms of release dates, nothing has been communicated. Even if the players can preorder the game, there is no fixed calendar date when they will actually have the hardcopy in their hands. Amazon.com listed the game and mentioned that the item will ship on December 31 2013. Without any doubt, the date is symbolic and until Blizzard will announce it, nobody knows when the first copies will get shipped. The only certain facts known so far is that the PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 will not have an AH or RMAH, it will run the latest patch, there is a fully functional version of the game running on the console and goodies will be offered for all the players that preorder. Unfortunately, there will be no cross platform [...]

The only certain facts known so far is that the PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 will not have an AH or RMAH, it will run the latest patch, there is a fully functional version of the game running on the console and goodies will be offered for all the players that preorder. Unfortunately, there will be no cross platform gameplay. PlayStation 3 players will not have the opportunity to play with PC users.

The PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 can be ordered here.

The Mechanics Of The Build:

Mana management is the main problem that caused a lot of Witch Doctors to forget about Zombie Bears. The spell costs a lot of mana and it cannot be spammed like other skills to make farming efficient. On the other hand, it is possible to tweak all other skills to make it easy to regain mana fast and efficient.

Spirit Walk is the first mana regen skill that comes to the scene. The problem is that it’s cooldown makes it a bit unpractical. Grave Injustice should fix the problem to some point. Since monster density has been tweaked in Patch 1.0.8 and Zombie Bears deal a lot of damage, the cooldown of Spirit Walk should be back to 0 after killing just a few monsters. In an ideal situation, the cast sequence should be Zombie Bears then Spirit Walk and Zombie Bears again.

Unfortunately, when dealing with Champion packs, the effectiveness of Grave Injustice greatly diminishes. This means that mana regen needs to be obtained from other sources. A good practice would be to have Sacrifice with the Pride rune, the Gruesome Feast and Blood Ritual passives. All of them combined should provide some additional mana to make Zombie Bears available in difficult situations.

In terms of survivability, Zombie Dogs and Spirit Walk are the only skills that can provide some form of damage avoidance and mitigation. It might not be enough and a bit of gold needs to be invested in some gear. At least 500 to all resistances is recommended and some vitality and maybe even Life on Hit if possible.

Required Level: 55 Build Inspired By: Archon InfernoFriday Even if Patch 1.0.8 is still in the works, the Public Test Realm gave everyone a pretty good idea of how things will change. This new Diablo 3 solo Inferno build has been tested and so far it looks very promising and ready for the upcoming patch. It has been thought out to provide an alternative to Wizards that got bored of the standard Critical Mass build which seems to be used by everyone. Build diversity has been a problem but this time around, there is something new to look at.
Even if Patch 1.0.8 is still in the works, the Public Test Realm gave everyone a pretty good idea of how things will change. This new Diablo 3 solo Inferno build has been tested and so far it looks very promising and ready for the upcoming patch.
Here is the key mapping as suggested by Archon:

Left Mouse Button – Disintegrate with the Convergence rune

Right Mouse Button – Blizzard with the Frozen Solid rune

…

Check the build calculator

The Mechanics Of The Build:

Using this particular Inferno Wizard build to solo acts 1 to 4 will prove to be very effective in terms of damage output despite its base 170% weapon damage. The skill’s destructive force is enhanced by the combination of Blizzard and the Cold Blooded passive. Blizzard will provide a 6 second window in which the targets will receive 20% more damage. This is pretty much all there is about damaging spells. The rest of the skills used in the build are meant to help with sustain.

Just like with the any kind of channeling spell, Disintegrate can make a full orb of Arcane Power to vanish but there are ways to counter this. The skill works just like the Monk Tempest Rush. Weapon attack speed will determine how fast it will consume arcane power. A slower weapon means a slower drain but it will also tick less frequent. On the other hand, slow weapons tend to have a higher base damage which in the end translates into the same DPS but a slower Arcane Power drain. Familiar and Storm Armor will help reduce the cost of Disintegrate and improve the regen rate of AP. Last but not least, Astral Presence will also contribute by adding some more Arcane Power regeneration.

Survivability is another issue that needs to be looked at. The traditional Wizard Critical Mass build provides a lot of CC which makes it very difficult to die. This Disintegrate build focuses mostly on slowing abilities which should be enough to kite monsters and stay away from melee range. Magic weapon will provide some Life Steal but some Life on Hit will be required.
