Lauren Weisberger, who wrote the original book, was one of Anna Wintour‘s junior assistants, and was hired by Leslie. They apparently worked together for 8 months.

“I definitely told her a million girls would kill for the job. That was definitely my line because I actually really believed that, and I knew that she didn’t necessarily wanna be there,” Leslie said. If you don’t know, that’s an iconic line from the first film.

When the book was published in 2003, she met up with Anna Wintour. “I got a call from Anna‘s office saying that she wanted to see me. I was petrified. [Anna] said, ‘Who’s Lauren Weisberger? And I said, ‘She was your junior assistant. And she’s like, ‘Well, she wrote a book about us, and you’re worse than me,’” Leslie explained. “I wanted to, like, ask more questions, but you can’t really ask her that many questions.”

About the book getting published, Leslie said, “It just felt like this exposure. Even though someone obviously advised her to make it fiction, it was really based off of a lot of things that, you know, I lived, she lived.”

Leslie recalled working with Lauren: “I probably was not very nice, and I probably was high-strung because I felt like I was having to do her job as well. So for me, that was really frustrating. I think she was probably just sitting there writing a book and not necessarily taking the job as seriously as I did.”

“We never talked again after she left,” she added.

Leslie also said she once told Emily Blunt this information, but Emily didn’t seem interested. “​​I said to her, I was like, ‘I just need to let you know, I’m Emily.’ She was not that interested, to be honest. I thought I was gonna get this, like, huge reaction. Like, no. It was like, ‘Oh, okay,’” she recalled.

The king’s gift for Trump was the bell from the HMS Trump. Per The New York Times, there is not a clear connection between the HMS Trump, a British submarine that was used during World War II.

The bronze bell has the name “Trump” and the year “1944″ engraved on it. The outlet noted that the year signifies when the sub was first launched.

“I am delighted to present to you as a personal gift, the original bell which hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake,” Charles told Trump, per the Daily Beast. “May it stand as a testament to our nation’s shared history and shining future. Should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring.”

The outlet noted that the president appeared to be thrilled by the gift and later told the king that it was “beautiful.”

Robert Icke is set to direct, and worked closely with the original movie’s writer and director Florian Henckle von Donnersmarck on the play, which is slated to open on October 14th at the Adelphi Theatre. It will run through January 9, 2027.

The play is “a potent tale about a playwright, Georg Dreyman (Thompson), his actress-girlfriend Christa-Maria Sieland (Knightley) and Gerd Wiesler (Dillane), a master Stasi interrogator instructed to bug — every which way — the couple’s apartment.”

This will mark Keira‘s first return to the stage in over ten years. She was last on Broadway in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Thérèse Raquin in 2015. Luke was last on stage in 2024, starring in a production of Love’s Labour’s Lost at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, while Stephen last starred in a stage production of When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other in 2019.

But that’s my favorite thing in the world to do.”

“Writing and then recording, and then playing pickleball, and then eating and then going on a dog walk and then coming back and recording more,” she dished. “What’s nice about being siblings is there’s no hard feelings whatsoever. “You know, when we were younger and we were doing this, I was very grump, let’s say,” she continued. “And I’m not that way anymore. And also, he’s not as like older brothery. Honestly, I can’t really talk about it any higher.”

Production on the 1980s drama revival has been going on for over a month now, and we’ve got the scoop on all the actors who are set to appear, so far.

Matt Nix will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the Fox reboot, with McG directing the first episode.

Meghan McCain has some choice words for The View‘s Alyssa Farah Griffin.

The 41-year-old conservative took to her Citizen McCain podcast to slam the current 36-year-old The View co-host, who replaced her on the daytime talk show after she left in 2021.

“When I left The View, the executive producer said, ‘I want you to help me help pick your [successor],’” Meghan said, before bringing up some inaccurate statements about the show’s Emmys. “The show has only won an Emmy twice in its history — one time is when I was there, for Best Political Show.”

To note: The View has won over 30 Daytime Emmys over the years, and none of them are for “Best Political Show.”

She then added that she gave “a list of women I thought would be great, including Allie Beth Stuckey.

“You need someone who’s a real one,” Meghan said, adding she didn’t want the show to hire “fake people who once voted for President Bush in the early 2000s and now hate everything Republicans” have become.

“I’m gonna say something that’s a little nasty,” she went on about Alyssa, who previously worked under the first Trump administration. “The person they replaced me with is a joke. She is in no way representative of conservative women. It’s been a wildly disappointing experience for me to see what legacy I helped do during the four years there while my dad battled brain cancer and I had not one, but two miscarriages while I worked there.”

Later in the episode, Meghan referred to Alyssa as “whatever” and criticized her for admitting on air that she voted for Kamala Harris in 2024.

“How is that representing conservatives?” she posed.

Earlier this year, Alyssa took a maternity leave, welcoming her first child, and former co-host Elisabeth Hasselback returned to The View as a guest co-host, which Meghan praised.

“She was great, and she was really strong and she fought for a lot of the things that I fight for,” she said.

If you missed it, Meghan previously revealed if she would ever return to The View.

Timothée Chalamet is continuing to support the New York Knicks during the playoffs and he’s joined by girlfriend Kylie Jenner!

The couple were spotted sitting courtside at the Atlanta Hawks v New York Knicks Game Five of the Eastern Conference First Round NBA Playoffs at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (April 28) in New York City.

Timothée is a huge fan of the team and often spotted at their games. He was seen sitting courtside at one just last week near Ben Stiller, who also happened to be sitting next to him tonight, too, along with his wife Christine Taylor.

On the other side, there was a little 30 Rock reunion with Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan also in attendance.

The cast of Friends each earned $1 million per episode for the final two seasons of the long-running show and they’re still earning nearly as much money every year.

Over 20 years after the show ended on NBC, the cast is earning lots of money for residuals thanks to the show having a successful life in syndication and streaming.

A new report has revealed how much cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry are earning each year in residuals.

Lisa‘s new feature in The Times revealed that number to be $20 million per year for each cast member.

The 9th season of Friends had 24 episodes and the 10th season had 18 episodes, for an average about $20 million per year for those seasons. The cast is effectively earning the same amount each year two decades later, without having to do any work!

“After Matthew died I watched the show again,” Lisa said in the feature. “Before, I only saw what I did wrong or could have done better. But for the first time I truly appreciated just how great it was. I felt I did OK, but Jennifer and Courteney? Amazing. David and Matt? They had me laughing so hard. And then Matthew — he was just beyond us all.”

When asked about the appeal for younger audiences today, Lisa said, “Friends captured a kind of innocence that maybe a younger generation has never got to experience.”

The feature also contained comments from Lisa about the “brutal” treatment from the writing staff.

“Jack Antonoff is a collaborator of mine and one of my best friends,” she simply stated to The New York Times in a new interview.

She then went on to talk about their songwriting tactics.

“We established this thing that we love to do, and we call it the rant bridge,” Taylor shared. “It’s basically like stream of consciousness, endless pouring-out of emotion, intrusive thoughts, blended with metaphor, with discussion, with shouting.”

Taylor also dished on what they aim for in a “rant bridge.”

“You want this rant bridge to feel the most intense of what that feeling is that you’re trying to establish over the course of the song, and you want it to be kind of a crescendo,” she said.

Taylor and Jack first worked together on the song “Sweeter Than Fiction” for the One Chance soundtrack, and have since collaborated on her albums 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department, as well as the Taylor’s Versions of Fearless, Red, Speak Now, 1989. They also worked together on her Zayn Malik collab “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” from Fifty Shades Darker.

For The Last of a Showgirl, Taylor reunited with Max Martin and Shellback, who she worked with on most of Reputation.

Paget Brewster is reflecting on her Criminal Minds journey and why she left the show and then later returned.

She sat down with Kristin Davis for her podcast Are You a Charlotte in an episode released on Monday (April 27).

Paget revealed the reason behind why she initially left the show. She claims that they had filmed a backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff show and when former CBS President Les Moonves—who quit after allegations of sexual assault, harassment and abuse in 2018—watched the pilot, it was the first time he’d seen the show in a while.

“We think he saw the show for the first time in years and just said, ‘Oh, I don’t like those women. Get rid of those women.’ And so, A.J. Cook and I were fired,” she explained.

A.J. Cook returned for a few episodes in season 6 after leaving during season 5. Then later came back as a full-time cast member in season 7.

Paget says she was offered full time but decided to leave the show after season 7 because she was “so mad” at CBS.

“I really did hold on to that anger for too long,” she shared on the podcast. “It was an unhealthy thing to hold onto. Because A.J. and I were like, ‘We were early, we knew our lines, we never got into fights.’ We were really angry. I held onto the anger for too long, and after four years, I finally thought, ‘Why am I not [on the show]? I love everyone there. I just don’t like Les Moonves, and I never have to see him because he doesn’t care about this show.’”

She ended up returning in season 12, with her character taking over for Thomas Gibson‘s after he was fired.

However, Paget also said she had to fight to get her “episodic fee close to what the men were making.”

She said she and the other women “were always paid less.”

“I was like, ‘Well, I kind of have them over a barrel. They need me more than I need this show.’ So, I got my episode fee way up from what it was,” Paget said. “Then, when the other female cast members, their contracts were up, so I said, ‘This is what I got. Go get more.’ So then, they went in and they got big raises.”
