It was that singular moment of agony that has led me to this modest blog.

The simple task of reaching behind my desk to pull a paper out of my briefcase had resulted in what felt like a gunshot to my back. "I'm too young to throw my back!" I thought to myself. I may not workout, or exercise, or eat well but I'm in pretty good shape, I kept thinking as my law partner drove me to his chiropractor. For the next few hours I lied paralyzed in pain on a massage bed. Nothing worked to relieve my burning back. I couldn't get up and was forced to use a bed pan like some elderly patient in a nursing home. Fortunately an acupuncturist was able to relieve my pain sufficiently so that my wife was able to take me home in her convertible VW Cabrio while I stood leaning against the passenger seat, ramrod straight and completely stiff, looking like a human surf board facing the rear of the car. Even today I wince in embarrassment as I remember the amused and curious looks of everyone we passed.
Not long after that my wife convinced me to join a gym. Over time I began to enjoy the benefits of getting fit and healthy. I found that I had more energy, more strength and more stamina. As I went about my day I would find myself in situations where I was glad that I was becoming fit. I could easily lift a suitcase when we traveled, my clothing fit better, and I wouldn't easily run out of breadth. I never had a back problem again. I discovered the three pillars of a healthy lifestyle: exercise, diet and supplements. Together they offer an unbeatable combination to attain and maintain health and fitness. Along the way, however, I discovered that a lot of ignorance, misconceptions and plain misinformation existed when it came to getting healthy.

A few years ago my wife was ready to go back to work. The kids were grown so she was being paroled from her life as a housewife and mother. She wanted to be her own boss but since neither of us had any business experience we decided to invest in a franchise. Right away we knew that we wanted a business which would help people and which coincided with our healthy lifestyle and so after much research and study we found our perfect fit: Max Muscle Sports Nutrition. Almost 20 years in business but only franchised for the past few years here was a business that was both established yet new. More importantly, Max Muscle is all about having the very best products along with an entire organization composed of knowledgeable and trained individuals -- from the founder of the company down to the team members in the store. We jumped at the opportunity and the challenge and today we own and operate three stores and are the regional franchise directors for South Florida where we get the chance to help other people like ourselves have their own stores.

So I dedicate this blog to my loving wife who rescued me from myself so I can now share with you how to live your life to the MAX!

<xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/justsaymax/~4/c50kSbDy9gU" height="1" width="1" />
