Odd Dreams

This morning, I had a freaky dream about all of my teeth falling out, which occasionally happens in my dreams. This one was extremely vivid and I thought it was really happening, since I was in the middle of my daily "hit-the-snooze-button-every-five-minutes" routine and half-awake. I really thought I was waking up and I could actually feel each tooth loosening then falling out one by one inside my mouth. It was like I was chewing on my own teeth.
Apparently, dreams about losing teeth are symbolic of these issues:

Fear of Death and Growing Old
Symbol of Powerlessness
Fear of Change
Fear of Failure or Embarrassment
Poor Health and Financial Instabilility
Abandonment

Yep, sounds about right. And I have dreams about losing teeth fairly often. And then this dream turned into one about "Saved by the Bell," with Jessie, Slater, Lisa & Screech. I'm not sure if I was watching the show or I was in it. I think both.
And my teeth were still falling out.

Just thought I had to document this.

And YAY! for all my teams winning this weekend!

My Poor Eyes

Had my eyes checked just 7 months ago and got new contacts and glasses. Now everything is a blur again. Can't see clearly or read from far away. Have to put my face right up to the computer monitor. Constantly squinting. My glasses are just about useless. I'm walking around in a blurry haze and feel very vulnerable. As a hypochondriac, WebMD really scares me. Seriously worried about my eyes.
Anyone know of a good eye doctor?

I also think I have diabetes.

Wedding Dresses & Babies

Confession:

Thanks to FiOS and the DVR, I have recently discovered "Say Yes to the Dress" & "Jon and Kate Plus 8", my new must-see shows, on TLC.

"Say Yes to the Dress," features brides shopping for their wedding dresses at Kleinfeld's in New York. All the wedding gowns are so droolworthy! Makes me dream about what kind of dress i want one day. And "Jon and Kate Plus 8," follows this family with sets of twins and sextuplets. It's fascinating and funny. The babies are SO adorable I just wanna gobble them up! Been DVR'ing and watching every single episode of both shows. And now there's a new show, "Twins, Twins & Sextuplets." I definitely have to catch that tonight.

Now I just want to get married and have lotz and lotz of bebez!
(I'm turning Monica-Gellar-marriage-&-babies-psycho.)

I want to get a GelaSkin for either my iPod or my computer. Let's face it, I don't need it, but they look so cool! And I guess $15 for my iPod is okay, but I don't think I need to spend $30 for the laptop one when I never take my computer anywhere. Anyway, I don't know which design I want though.

I've been doing too much shopping lately and not enough studying. Here's a picspam of some of my recent purchases. Unfortunately, I can't even wear most of this stuff right now.

Pretty dresses, but I've got nowhere to go. :(

I love this purple trench coat, but it's still too warm for jackets.

SO cute! I've been eyeing this Lucky Brand bikini all summer, and I finally got it now that it was on sale. Of course, summer's over and I won't be going swimming anytime soon. This is like the 5th swimsuit I bought just this year, and I haven't even worn them all yet. There are just so many pretty bathing suits out there and I want them all. They're one of my weaknesses. However, I hate my body and how I look in swimsuits. Go figure.

And some basic work bottoms. You can't see in the picture, but the skirt has a really beautiful eyelet texture and a cute skinny belt.

Well, the Olympics are over and the withdrawal has already set in. Sixteen days went by way too fast. I'm gonna be so depressed now. What else do I have to look forward to now and obsess over? Maybe I can get more sleep now. I'm exhausted.
I NEED to go to the London 2012 Olympics.

I'm gonna be really depressed when the Olympics are over. I've been totally obsessed since it started. Been in sort of an Olympics-Bubble; I don't really know what else is going on unless they say it on NBC. I've always loved the Olympics and look forward to them every time, especially the Summer games. It's really the only time I absolutely love sports and really get into it. Closing ceremony on Sunday. I'll be in a little funk when it's all over. Where am I gonna get my daily dose of hot athletes?

I'm a bad blogger. Haven't updated in forever. Went on another cruise w/ the fam at the beginning of June. It was a lotta fun. Here's a preview of some pictures. More posted later.

In other news, still studying for CPA exam. However, of course I've been distracted by reading the Twilight series and watching Doctor Who instead -- DW Finale on Saturday! So excited and nervous, don't want the Doctor to regenerate! Need Rose & the Doctor to be happy! I'm such a nerdy fangirl.

I'm the worst procrastinator in the world. MUST. GO. STUDY. NOW!

Some free association posting b/c i really shouldn't be posting, but studying for cpa

- 1st part of CPA exam, Financial, on Monday, May 19 - in just 11 days! YIKES! SO not studying well. Haven't taken practice exams yet. Haven't done simulations yet. NINE CHAPTERS! Still reviewing, forgot everything. NO time! My fault - procrastinator.

- Went to eye doctor. Got new glasses & contacts. Eyes been bothering me = pink eye. Have to wear glasses for a week and I'm also not wearing any eye makeup. Yuck. Eyes still feeling weird sometimes. Difficult to keep open while driving = very bad. I'm going blind, I swear. Eyesight SO bad.

- Cruise in exactly 3 weeks. Need to buy some new clothes and stuff. But can't think about it til after CPA exam. Except that I totally am, and neglecting studying. GRRR.

- Been trying to exercise, eat less & lose weight for cruise. But NOT WORKING! Haven't lost a thing, and crave junk food.

- Gotta do self eval at work by Monday. Don't wanna :(

My Wedding Plans

Yep, you read that title correctly. But nope, I have no news to share. Nowhere close. Still single. Still alone.

Recently, I've found myself reading a lot of wedding/engagement stuff on blogs. Quite on accident, I swear. At first anyway.
I occasionally go to iamfashion.blogspot.com. One of the links goes to another fashion blog, Closet Therapy.
The writer of that blog just got engaged and wrote a series of entries about engagement ring shopping, complete with pictures. Got me drooling over Tiffany diamond engagement rings.
I also frequent fabsugar - it's been engagement week, and there's been a lot of stuff on wedding gowns and engagement rings and wedding planning, etc. This also led me to idosugar.com, wedding planning blog.
I've been looking at all these gorgeous rings and gowns and imagining what I would want. All so fascinating to me, but also kinda sad & depressing, realizing I am so alone and it could be a long while before I get to plan a wedding of my own and I don't need to be looking at this.

A bunch of people at work have just gotten engaged. And so many people I knew from high school are already married/having babies. Saw pictures of Eli Manning's wedding this weekend in Mexico. Jim may be asking Pam to marry him on The Office soon. It's everywhere I look. Of course, I feel I'm too young right now to settle down, and I've got my career to think about right now, (not to mention I've never even had a real boyfriend), but I do still think about it. Lately, much more often. And don't even get me started on what happens when I see a baby.

I wouldn't call myself obsessed with weddings, as I haven't planned out what my future wedding will be like. I'm no Monica Geller. And I don't think I'd become a Bridezilla, but I would still like to have my perfect wedding. But when I think about it, I realize I will never get my ideal wedding. (Sometimes I fear I'll never get married and die alone, or that I'll end up settling. But that's a whole 'nother issue.) I don't know exactly what I want, but I know what I don't want. Nearly all Vietnamese weddings are the same. They all have their receptions at a big Chinese restaurant, usually the same one that hosts all the other Vietnamese parties that I've been to my entire life, all serving an identical menu. And the same band. I do not want this. I want an elegant, unique wedding that in some way perfectly reflects me (& my future husband of course), and the Chinese restaurant is just so not my style. It's so noisy and crowded and I don't even like the food, which gets so messy and gross.
And another thing, I don't want to invite 500+ people I don't even know. Vietnamese families do this to help pay for the wedding, since Vietnamese guests give money as gifts. Also, I think to show up their friends' kids' weddings. (Vietnamese parents are ALWAYS comparing their children. In everything.) I'd much prefer a smaller wedding with people I actually know and care about.
A destination wedding would be amazing, but there's no chance that's happening. I want my dream wedding dress, by Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier, but I will probably have to sacrifice that.
And I fear my parents will not 'get' what kind of wedding I want and decorations and flowers, etc., even my engagement ring, and that I'll have to settle for their aesthetic and what is more traditionally 'Vietnamese'.
And I already know that my future (imaginary) husband's first image of me on our wedding day won't be of me in my white gown walking down the aisle. We'll first have a traditional VIetnamese ceremony at our parents' houses. Which is fine, it's my heritage. But that part was never something I dreamed about as a girl.

Okay, it's official. I'm crazy and scary and obsessive and selfish, and no man will want me if he reads this. He will run far, far away. Still alone.

Eli Manning, You Own My Heart

And I thought I could not love Eli Manning any more that I already did!

That's a Dwight bobble head in his locker! He's an Office fan and a Seinfeld fan? Swoon!
So adorable! I love him, and Peyton. They're both such normal, nice, upstanding guys, in addition to being great quarterbacks. I just love that entire Manning family. I also love the fact that Eli and Peyton are both still with their college sweethearts. (In contrast to Brady, who impregnated, then left actress Bridget Moynahan for supermodel Gisele. He may have the GQ cover-ready looks, but I prefer Eli and Peyton and their nice-guy adorkableness over him any day. SO much hotter.)

All of Peyton's commercials are always great and funny. He's such a natural comedic actor. And this commercial just absolutely cracks me up.

And I love the song! So wonderfully cheesy. "Its the league of the future. For the mighty and the bold....DSRL! DSRL!" I even downloaded the whole theme song to my iPod.

Can't wait til Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull next year! The Indiana Jones trilogy has been one of my favorites since I was a kid, and Indy is one of my favorite characters ever. Hope this movie holds up to the others.

Favorite Junk Food

My absolute favorite chips are Utz Red Hot flavored potato chips.

I'm addicted to them. I eat a whole bag in one sitting, even though I try not to. They mean it when they say "red hot". SO spicy, I am hissing and gulping down water the whole time I'm eating them, but I can't stop. They're my crack. I literally have the shakes while I eat them and for some time afterwards; they're intense. That cannot be healthy for me, but SO GOOD!

Sour candy, esp. Sour Patch Kids & Sour Punch Straws

Again, I have to stop myself from eating the whole bag. I'm totally a future diabetic.

Enough of this procrastinating. Back to CPA Review!
