Sex.com $12M - $14M (exact figure has never been disclosed) 2005
Sex.com was registered in 1994 by Gary Kremen. However, Stephen M. Cohen, a net entrepreneur managed to transfer the domain over his own name by tricking the registrars. Cohen was then arrested. More stories. Anyway, Kremen managed to get back his Sex.com domain then sold it to Escom LLC.

Porn.com $9.5M 2007
Porn.com was bought by MXN Ltd., an Internet media and investment firm. It was originally offered $7M during auction but was turned down.

Diamond.com $7.5M 2006
Ice.com (online diamond and jewelry retailer) bought the domain from Odimo Inc. and both parties agreed that the $7.5 million was for the domain name and associated intellectual property only. Ice.com paid another $2 million for Odimo's jewelry inventory. In 2000, Diamond.com was sold by Internet Real Estate Group to Odimo Inc., a partnership between Steinmetz Group (the 2nd largest raw diamond company in the world) and Softbank in 2000 for $6 million.

You can sell your products or services without renting and maintaining a shop or an office. You can do it at home or in your hostel room (students also can do this business) or from office (before or after office hour and during lunch time) or within hotspot area (example: airports, colleges, etc).
You can do it without paying single cent. Example: blog (Blogger.com), free website & domain (Google Page Creator and Geocities), free e-shop website (Amazon.com aStore and CafePress.com), etc.

Still wondering how to make extra income online? They are a lot of ways how we can make money in cyber world – well, internet is universal. One of the ways to make real money in internet is by writing news or articles. For me this is quite easy – although English is my second language.

Friend, last two week I wrote two articles and submitted them to Ecommerce-Journal.com and you know what? I make money. That's right, I get paid.
