Archos media player is Google phones

Archos will combine its own media functions and the operating system android developed by Google, primarily for use in mobile phones. In the Swedish market is android today only in HTC Magic.

Tony Limrick, head of the Archos in northern Europe, states of this page Index Hardware that some of the new media players will be used fully as mobile phones, but that some will only have limited phone functions.

Lyxmobiler will highlight LG

In an interview with the Korean news agency Yonhap said LG’s mobile chief Ahn Seung-Kwon that it aims to overtake Samsung in the world market and become the second largest within the next three years.

According to research firm Gartner had LG in the first quarter of this year a market share of 9.9 percent, compared with Samsung’s share of 19.9 percent and Nokia’s market share of 36.2 percent.

LG believes that it can achieve the ambitious objective, inter alia, by focusing on models in the upper prissegementen. Most extreme are the models to be launched under a new brand and LG compared with Nokia’s Vertu phones and Toyota’s Lexus cars.

ONE launches Android GeeksPhone this case

A Spanish company, known as GeeksPhone recently one of its forthcoming Android phones on technology. The new Android smart phone comes with a touch-screen display and resembles almost exactly like the Samsung Omnia i900/i908.

Just like the iPhone it also offers a very decent 3.2 inch touchscreen display with integegrated support for A-GPS and built-in DVB-T Digital TV Tuner. In addition to that there is also a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. Other than that there is support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.

Auction giant eBay Changes to Fee Structure

eBay is struggling with how Amazon.com recently announced a new fee structure, with the hope of new sellers. Many sellers have left eBay have previously complained that the fees were too high, and if something does not sell, it costs more to eBay than the money it brings in.

I am a child of the 80s (born in 1967), so I remember well the likes of Tempest, Zaxon, Galaga, Zap, Centipede, and many more games that stole my quarters over the years. These games helped to define my generation as the first to stare, glassy-eyed at a screen in hopes of having their name on the high score display. I never did. It was one of the big disappointments of my youth.

One of those games really stole my .25 and my attention more than any other. That game? Tempest. If you’ve never played the original Tempest you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s a wireframe pseudo 3D game that would have today’s game players yawning with boredom. So you can’t imagine my joy when I found an updated variation on the Tempest game installed on my Elive distribution. That game? Torus Trooper. This game is a fast-paced, scrolling 3D shooter that takes place in, you guessed it, a Torus.

A Torus is a surface of revolution generated by revolving a circle in three dimensional space. Otherwise known as a 3D ring or, better yet, a donut. Now in this game you are inside this donut shooting at oncoming ships and dodging oncoming barriers. It is fast, it is timed, and it is addictive.
