When you walk in to get just ONE t-shirt, you will inevitably end up buying at least 3 or 5 pieces. Trust me. I’ve been there.

Plus, if you’re a GAP member, I think you’ll get additional 10% on top of your purchases.

I’m itching to go, but I just might not this year, because I need to curb my spending. In addition, my GAP membership just expired last month.

A while ago, I stumbled on pictures of a pretty interesting canvas bag. Apparently, this bag was getting neverending orders, and stores selling the bags have all sold out.

Recognize it?

Yep, it had the unmistakable print of the ever-popular Hermes Birkin printed on it. Comes in several colors too.

There’s a concern out there as to whether this bag is at all “legal”. And whether or not Hermes has had its stamp of approval for that bag.

That aside, these bags are selling like hot cakes! I actually saw it being advertised for sale on Facebook, and out of curiosity I inquired on the price. It was a whopping RM500!

Well, definitely cheaper than owning an original Hermes! LOL

Have you seen this bag? Have you been tempted to get one? Or are you already using one yourself? Would you succumb to dishing out RM500 for a bag like this?

Kiehl’s Mega Sale Carnival

When I visited the Kiehl’s store at Gurney Plaza some time back, I did ask the SA if they had any sales or promotions, and she told me, “Hardly.”

But lo and behold, I’m here to tell y’all that Kiehl’s in Malaysia is gonna have a Mega Sale Carnival from May 27 - June 26 2011. They’ll take RM10 off every RM100 purchase. That is roughly 10% discount, depending on how much you actually purchase. Any savings is better than no savings, yes?

I’m on a skincare ban now too, but if I wasn’t, I’d stock up on the Midnight Recovery Concentrate…a miracle concentrate which I’d rave about some other day.

My (Belated) Birthday Pressie from Sephora Beauty Insider

When I was staying Stateside for a few months, like many others out there, I too succumbed to the temptation that is called Sephora. I shopped online because they offered FREE shipping for orders $50 and more (which isn’t hard to attain). Plus, they gave out free samples with each order. AND I got to register as a Beauty Insider member.

I didn’t really know what being a Beauty Insider meant, other than receiving points for my purchase, as well as newsletters emailed to me regularly.

Then last October, as it neared my birthday, I received an email from Sephora Beauty Insider informing me that I could go collect a birthday gift from the Sephora store! A birthday gift just by being a registered Beauty Insider?! Cool!

One minor problem though: I was back in Malaysia and I had to ask someone in US to collect the gift on my behalf.

Long story short…my friend only managed to pass my gift (belated birthday gift, that is) to my hubby last week, when he was in the States. And ta-daaa…here it is!! (psst…they change the gift every now and then)

Sephora Eyeshadow (mine is Aspen Summit No. 23)
Sephora Nano eyeliner (eye pencil in a very cool shade of Silver Green)
Sephora Lash Plumper (lash plumping mascara)

I’ve personally not used any of Sephora’s stuff, so this would be a first. Hmm…I wonder if I’ll get another gift this coming October…

Exabytes: They go the extra mile!

How does one satisfy one’s craving for impeccable service from over-the-top helpful customer service personnel, and in addition, obtain top-notch products and services for unbelievably competitive prices? Well, for someone who prides herself in NEVER settling for second best, I’d have to say that the decision I made when I chose Exabytes as my web host provider is one which I will never regret.

Having been a loyal customer of Exabytes for four years now (and counting), my trust and respect for this company has grown more each day as our “techie” relationship blossomed. Of course, like any relationship, we have had our fair share of obstacles, but I’m pleased to note that almost all of the problems had been ironed out in super speedy time, thanks to the diligence of the Exabytes team.

One of the major selling point for Exabytes would be that their “hosting bundles” contain the stuff that a consumer really needs. I now have 3 different hosting packages hosted under Exabytes, and each and every one of these serve a different need.

My favorite from Exabytes?

Well, it would have to be hands-down the EBiz Gold hosting package. For me, it was the provision of the Free Lifetime domain that was thrown into the package that more or less sealed the deal. This EBiz Gold package is a rather comprehensive one, complete with sufficient disk space and monthly bandwidth. Of course, if you are kiasu and greedy, you could also pay a little extra and opt for the EBiz Gold Unlimited hosting package, which provides unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Actually I’m KIV-ing the upgrade… hehe.

All relationships are built on compromise; give and take. And I am glad Exabytes feel the same way, as they do reward their customers for loyalty and prompt payment too. Of course, another PLUS point for Exabytes is that there are contests run periodically, and knowing me, that is something that is definitely right up my alley!

Exabytes has been such a wonderful and comfortable home for my blogs and websites, I’d hate to ever leave it. I sleep easy knowing that all my sites are safe and securely backed up.

Happy 10th Anniversary Exabytes! Here’s to another 10 years and more of superior and excellent web hosting. Now what would really put the icing on the cake is if I could add that much-coveted iPad2 from the current Exabytes Super Blogger Contest to my collection of prized possessions. So how ’bout it, Exabytes, huh? For old time’s sake?

Lovin’ my Envirosax

Long before the “No Plastic Bags” trend began, I had already been using the Envirosax. Long before they started the “No Plastic Bags on Saturdays”, I had been carrying my own reusable shopping bags. All the way from Malaysia to the States and back again. Yeah, me and my reusable bags…they really go a long way

And now in Penang, it’s “No Plastic Bags every day”, so my handbag contains at least 2 or 3 rolled-up reusable shopping bags all the time.

Recently I had the opportunity to review the Envirosax. Being a long-time user of the Envirosax, I was, of course, curious to find out how it had “evolved” over the years. After all, Envirosax had been creating and producing reusable shopping bags since 2004! Founded in Australia, the people behind Envirosax aim to protect the environment and create a greener earth for the future generation by providing an eco-friendly and (may I say) stylish alternative to the plastic bags we see every day.

I was a happy gal a few weeks ago when I received the ABC design Envirosax from the Envirosax Kids Series. Now one thing you will notice about the Envirosax is that it comes in gorgeous prints! I was totally wowed over and could not decide which one to choose at first.

I arrived at the site, out of curiosity
Not knowing what to expect in sheer ambiguity
Simply called the Sensuala Interactive Beauty Zone
I must say it’s definitely a site to call your own!

I clicked on START and was asked to choose
My body shape based on a particular fruit
I chose between a pineapple, a lemon, a cherry
An apple, a lemon and even a strawberry!

I was then asked to measure the size of my bust
With given instructions, that’s certainly a must!
Together with the cup size, I was asked to enter
With bated breath, I awaited the answer!

Next, to select my style, I was told
Was I the sporty kind or was I sexy and bold?
Did I think I had a casual style
Or am I simply a feminine kinda gal?

Lastly, I was asked for what I look for most in a bra?
What’s the most important factor by far?
Is it comfort or enhancement that I seek?
Is it support or style that makes it chic?

I wished I could choose a combination
For I find that I’m sometimes between selections
But the results were out and I’m a Proper Lady
Which, I’d say, is rather close to accuracy

I was recommended some gorgeous bras that would suit my style
The experience was certainly worth the while
For a mere five minutes on the PC or workstation
I definitely cherished it with utter satisfaction!

Review: Classic Boba 2G Baby Carrier

In my almost 5 years of being a mom, I have used several different methods of carrying babies and kids. First of all, I have used the conventional method of just using my arms. While this method is quick to use, one tends to get tired very easily this way. I’ve also used baby slings made using sling rings, and these are really cozy. The downside is that you need to really adjust it for that perfect fit, and of course, some dads don’t like to wear the sling. I’ve also tried the baby carrier. We bought one years ago, and was sorely disappointed when our son didn’t really fit well in it. In addition, it felt very unsafe, so it’s gathering dust in some corner in our house now.

So when I was asked to test drive the Classic Boba 2G Baby Carrier, I was a little apprehensive, although I was also excited. Although both my kids love to run around, I was keen to find out if they would be interested to take a ride in the Boba Carrier. After all, they both still fall in the weight range of the carrier, i.e. 15-45lbs (7-20kg).

When I received the carrier, my first impression about the carrier was how sturdy it looked. I loved the padding on the waist belt and the shoulder straps. It definitely looked very comfortable and I could hardly wait to put it on. This was certainly something you would want to put your kid in. It wasn’t flimsy at all, and I was glad to notice that the instructions on how to wear it was very clear and precise, complete with pictures for ease of reference. Definitely a plus point for me!

I tried it on immediately, and I was amazed at how comfortable it felt! The waist belt, especially, was extremely comfortable, and the padding served to provide that extra bit of support. The waist belt and shoulder straps are adjustable, so anyone can wear it. Putting on the carrier was a breeze, and all it took were two buckles to secure it in place.

It took me a couple of tries to get my 11-kilo daughter into the carrier at first, because I wanted to be sure she would be securely fastened and that she would be comfortable. But once she was strapped in, it was smooth-sailing all the way. I carried my daughter front-facing and there was absolutely NO STRESS on my back or shoulders!

Next, I tried carrying my son in the back-carry position. My son is close to 5 years old, and he weighs 16 kilos! Well, getting him into back-carry position was a little bit tricky, but with a little bit of help, I was able to securely fasten him up. I had to adjust the chest straps a little so they didn’t ride up my neck, but other than that, it was awesome. Imagine carrying a 16-kilo child on your back and not feeling the strain! My son LOVED it, and so did I!

Besides evaluating the Boba Carrier on safety, I tested it out on comfort too. Our Malaysian weather which is typically scorching hot tends to be very unforgiving if a child is carried or wrapped up in fabric that is too thick or too warm. With the Boba Carrier, however, I was pleased to note that the 100% natural brushed cotton the Boba Classic is made from is the ideal choice. The Boba Carrier is also available in an organic range, which is made from 100% GOTS and OE100 certified organic cotton.

My one minor issue about the Boba carrier would be that it is rather bulky to take along on outings. With my baby sling, I can easily fold it and put it into the diaper bag, and simply retrieve it when needed. With the Boba Carrier however, I found myself deliberating if I should take it along, because I could not easily fold it up and place it in a bag. A workaround would be to permanently leave it in my car and use it when needed.

All in all, I have had a very pleasant experience with the Boba Carrier. My kids love it too, and my daughter especially, will request that I carry her in it, even at home! This carrier has certainly changed my perception of baby carriers, and in addition, it looks pretty darn cool too. For long-haul travels when you need to move around from place to place and need your hands free while taking care of kids, the Boba Carrier is the answer.
