Mentorship Program/Internship

The KAMHC Mentorship Program was made to establish lifelong relationships between Pre-Health students and current practicing professionals. The KAMHC Internship and Mentorship Program will combine this year. Through the Internship, students get a chance to shadow health professionals, join professionals on a short term mission trip, as well as other opportunities.

Each mentor will take on about 1-2 students per year. These students should possess a passion for medical missions as well as a passion for their future career. Mentors will review CVs with the students and provide guidance and practical help to improve their application. Other opportunities such as research, volunteering, and job shadowing may be provided. Mentors will also assist students in participating in medical missions.

After applications are reviewed, applicants will be contacted for an interview.

Applications are due: ~~April 30th~~ May 9th.

A.Election of the new executive team:
?hairman: Dr. Junhee Kang (term: 4/9/2011 ~ 5/19/2012)
?hairman Elect: Dr. Yongsik Kim, (term: 5/19/2012~5/19/2014).
?ice President: Dr. Yongsik Kim and Dr. Sunny Kim (term: 4/9/2011~5/19/2012)
?EO of administrative team: Dr. William Han was elected as a CEO without getting paid.
B.Raised Board Member Fee:
?o consider the needs of having a full-time Executive director (Pastor) and a secretary for the KAMHC headquarter, the board members agreed to change the board member fee to $200 per month. ( $2,400 per year beginning on April 9, 2011)

<Discussion>
?eparation of Board member team (consists of chairman, two vice presidents, active and functional board members) and administrative team (consists of CEO, paid executive director-preferably pastor, paid administrative assistant).
?undraising for KAMHC: Dr. William Il Han would try to work with a Med Send chief fund raiser.
?e need raise more funds for an executive director/office and future ministries.
?ecruiting second generation board members, med. students: Dr. Chisoo Choi and Hikon Chon mentioned that KAMHC should try to get in contact with CMDA and short term mission trip leaders; speaking English at board meeting is necessary to break the cultural gap between first and second generation. Dr. Chisoo Choi forwarded the e-mail regarding how to manage board members (Fwd: ECFA Forum letter to Board)
?e should start working on KAMHC 2012, May 18~19 conference by: Obtain good lists of med/dental/nursing student directories near NY areas; lead KPM specifically on getting ready for the conference.
?r. William Il Han is planning to have ?ilver mission?for the retired doctors in California in May 28, 2011 with joint efforts by KAMHC and MnMCA.
?e can potentially consider Bethel Korean Church for the KAMHC 2014 conference location.
