Stone Canoe is a journal of arts, literature, and social commentary that is published by Syracuse University. Two of my photographs were included in the most recent volume. This edition recently won a Gold Medal from the Independent Publishers Book Awards for Anthologies. All of the 2012 results are posted here.

The Ithaca Years: Brummund’s Recent Videos

For the last six years, my studio was based in Ithaca, New York. The first project I made in Ithaca was 9 Groton Avenue and my most recent public installation in Ithaca was 926 Sears Street. There were over 13 public art installations in between. On May 20th, Station923 is screening a selection of videos that I made during this time. Sadly, this is also a chance to say goodbye to the amazing friends as I will be moving soon. I hope to see you in Ithaca at this special art space.

I stopped by XL Projects to see the exhibition that is showcasing the visual art from the 6th edition of the Stone Canoe Journal for the Arts. The show is up through February 5, 2012. The party for the issue launch is February 4th from 6pm-8pm.

New Installation: a door

My drawing of the door is printed on translucent paper and hung over the door. Alongside this installation is a video of a drawing falling off a house. Photographs of my new installation are by Karen Pearlman.
