Early this year I created a few goals and set clear intentions.  To help keep m accountable I announced several in an earlier blog, and to my mastermind group.

Making these promises to myself and getting really clear on intentions has been very helpful.   Here are some video of me putting these declarations into practice.

Last week was a lesson in letting go.  My daughter got her drivers license.

I had to let go of so many thoughts and feelings that crossed my heart and mind, and allow my daughter to grow into this phase of her life.

I thought of how it was only yesterday she was learning to walk.  I look back and realize how easy it was to baby-proof the house and keep her safe.  Now, I have to let go of the fact I cannot safe-proof the roads on which she will drive.

This new independence calls for new forms of freedom.  I need to let go of the fact she will be free to go more places without waiting for me to be free to take her.

Now that she and her friends are driving, I need to let go of fears of her being out there alone and on the road with other drivers.  Still, I rest easy when she returns to the house safe and smiling.

It has been a week to practice all kinds of breathing and letting go.  Reminding myself that my daughter is a responsible young lady and all will be well.

This week has helped me appreciate that control is an illusion, and that I must breathe and make room for life to just happen.  Trust that all will be well, and find peace in the gifts that show up.

I carry these realizations into my every day life, and business practice.  I am reminded to let go of struggle, resistance and mistrust.  To know that the way will show up.  Take that step and allow the universe to serve and support you.

I love this quote.  It guides me when I am hung up in asking myself “why” and seeking answers that may not exist.

This quote reminds me to get quiet, be with the question and let the answer come to me.  It is a powerful and beautiful way of being present, and allowing my intuition to lead.

You may ask, “What do you mean by ‘be with the question?”  I simply mean to let go of analyzing, wondering, hoping, craving and seeking. Get quiet.  Take a few breaths.  Simplify the question that is coming up for you.  Do not judge or analyze.  Simply put the question to the universe.  You may do this out loud, in silence, in a journal, on a simple scrap of paper or a napkin.  Whatever works for you.

Once the question is clear, take another few breaths.  If it is necessary to “find” an answer, try a new way of letting it come to you.  Let the question sit on your heart and mind and simply observe what shows up in your heart, mind and body.  This does not mean to label it.  Just breathe with it.  If an answer is not imminent or necessary, simply put the question to the universe and let it be.  The answer may come back to you in the most subtle or overt way, at an expected or unexpected time, in a way you never could have imagined.

Try it.  And, let me know what shows up for you when you just “live with the question.”
