I’m not a big fan of Rihanna, but whosoever is, will hate this new scam spreading on Facebook. The scam claims to show a leaked video of Rihanna making out with someone. The scam has the title – “WOW – You Will hate RIHANNA after watching this video!” followed by a link and a description that reads – “You Will Lose All Respect For RIHANNA After Watching This.”

Please beware that this is a fake message that is being spread across the social network. When users click on the scam link, they are taken to a fake page, which appears like Facebook and contains a video player. Clicking on the play button will not load the video, but will ask you to share the video link with your friends on Facebook .

However, after “sharing” the post on your Facebook Wall, you will be provided with a set of online surveys, which you are asked to complete before you can watch the video. Please note that even after completing the surveys there is NO video shown. Please DO NOT waste your time in completing online surveys. Scammers generally create such scams to get users to complete online surveys. They get paid as commission when they get users to complete surveys like this.

Sometimes it may result in downloading malware programs or other malicious files, which could possibly harm your computer. These files are programmed in a way to steal your personal and confidential information without your knowledge.

It is recommended that you DO NOT click on such links or scam messages on Facebook. If you come across this scam message, please delete/remove the scam from your Facebook news feed immediately. Alternately, you can report the scam to Facebook Security.

With over 800 million users on Facebook, the social networking giant has always been a main target for spreading scams. It is quite difficult to identify scams on Facebook.

As a precautionary measure, always check which applications you use and remove unwanted or suspicious ones.

Firefox 8 Officially Released! Download Now [Direct Links]

Finally after a series of betas and a candidate release, the official release of Mozilla’s Firefox 8 is now available for download.

The two main features of this latest release are Twitter Search as well as heightened security with increased add-on control.
Allowing consumers to be fully in control of the browsing experience has long-since been a fundamental part of Mozilla’s mission statement, and Firefox 8 takes it to the next level it would appear. Previously, third party vendors could be added to extend the capabilities of Firefox. Now, though, such add-ons are disabled.
Now of course, the browser can opt to enable add-ons, but as Mozilla programmer Justin Scott blogged, add-ons are not always beneficial to those browsing the Web.

“These add-ons installed by third parties present a number of problems: they can slow down Firefox start-up and page loading time,”

“They clutter the interface with toolbars that often go unused, they lag behind on compatibility and security updates, and most importantly, they take the user out of control of their add-ons.”

Firefox 8 is – as has always been the case – pre-loaded with add-ons, but this time around, users will be able to see from the onset which ones they particularly want / need, rather than unwittingly persevering with a slower browsing experience cluttered with unwanted extensions. When Firefox 8 is installed, a dialog box is fashioned, which lists add-ons, and asks which to enable and which to disable.

With Mozilla’s regular release schedule, it’s hard enough for us to keep up with the versions, and apparently developers behind add-ons also experience such troubles, leaving many bereft of updates through new versions and suffering compatibility issues. Smooth? I think not!
In addition to the add-on controls, Twitter Search integration will make it a lot easier for Tweeters to discover new topics, #hashtags and @usernames, although is initially limited to the English, Portuguese, Slovenian, and Japanese releases of Firefox 8. According to Mozilla’s official blog page, though, more languages will be rolling out during the course of the next few weeks.

Google Unviels Pages On Google+

Google announced their new “Pages” feature to Google+ on their blog. The theme of their blog post centers around being able to connect with all the things you care about. Google+ Pages have been a long time in the making and are similar to the group and business pages you see on Facebook. They allow you to socialize with your favorite brands and businesses, in addition to people.

Organizations can go to plus.google.com/pages/create to start their new page. Though they said the new “Pages” feature rolls out worldwide today, it doesn’t appear to be available everywhere just yet. When I tried to create a page earlier, I received the message picture below.

The addition of “Pages” allows businesses to interact with their customers in new ways. Customers can now +1 a page or add them to their circles so they can always see updates from them. Google seems to be embracing the philosophy of connecting to people. Here is a quote from their blog:

Google shared the following video to introduce their new “Pages” feature

At present, there are currently only a handful of pages available, such as the band All American Rejects, NFL outfit the Phoenix Suns, allegedly still relevant WWE as well as the fashion outlet that is H&M. We keenly await the more interesting Pages of the likes of Metallica, Apple andActivision – publishers of the "OMG, we can’t wait!" release of Call Of Duty, Modern Warfare 3.

Google+ Pages will now be included in Google search results. Google has also introduced a “Direct Connect” feature for its search engine. For example, if you are an Angry Birds fan, then you can type a “+” symbol followed by Angry Birds in the search box and it will take you directly to their Google+ page. Apparently there are only a limited number of “Direct Connect” pages available at this time.

The Big G will be rolling the service out to any organization pretty soon, so stay tuned for the KashTech Google+ Page. As soon as Google allows it, rest assured we’ll be there!

Keep the Phone steady
Hold the camera motionless and steady so that it doesn’t shake while you click. Keep both of the elbows steady and at the side to get some support from the body. Take a deep breathe, settle down and gently trigger the shutter release of your phone.

Know your shutter speed

If you’re clicking from an iPhone then you should know that it doesn’t click as soon as you press the button but when you release the pressing. So, when you press down the button, hold it steady when you release it or the blur created when it is shaken can make your images look bad.

Optimize your Camera settings

If your phone offers an ISO change in setting, set it to Auto which is always a good option. If manually, set ISO to lowest when you’re clicking outdoor and maximum as the light goes darker.

Use Camera flash

Camera flash can be your secret weapon. You can use it even when you’re clicking during day time to reduce the shadow caused by the sunlight. It can get you even lighting if you’re very close to subject giving you the best of your click.

Don’t use Digital Zoom

Digital zoom is nothing but zoom into your pixels causing noise. Your phone’s camera can’t adjust itself by moving its lens unlike in digital SLR cameras. So it is better to avoid digital zooming as much as possible.

Symbian Anna Phones Get a Performance Update

Hot on the heels of the v25 firmware update for their Symbian^3 phones, Nokia has started rolling out a performance pack for their handsets.

As the name suggests, the ’performance’ pack aims at improving the performance and stability of the phone and its core apps. The change-log states an improvement in the email app, improved GPS performance and ‘more’. The update is an application level update, and not a firmware level update. Thus, the firmware version of your phone will remain the same post the update.

Users who have already installed the update reported an improvement in the performance of the email app, along with an overall performance improvement. The update is available via OTA (Over-The-Air) as well as via Nokia Suite. Go to the Software Update app on your Symbian^3 phone to download and install this 1MB update.
This performance update is available for all Symbian^3 handsets running Symbian Anna, including the Nokia N8, C7, C6-01 and the E7.

Grand Theft Auto V : Official Trailer Coming Soon

Grand Theft Auto fans are now in for a surprise. The next version of the series is now scheduled to come in a matter of time. This game’s trailer is to come this November 2 – that’s coming Wednesday. With only one more week to go, the excitement among the GTA fans has risen it’s peak. The internet is now set ablaze with excitement and speculation.

The front page of the GTA website sports a big banner showing “Grand Theft Auto V ; Trailer 11.02.11″. With a single glance at the image, we can recognize that this big, surprising game is just within a few days of our hands reach. There isn’t any news related to this game. We are not yet informed of the game details, in which platforms it will run or any other information. It’s just that the game is coming soon.

Like the other versions of the Grand Theft Auto series, this version too is based around the factors money and murder. Basically all the games in this series involves a specific theme. A boss gives a job and it’s your duty to finish it. The game was in a continuous chain from the first to the third. But in GTA IV, the game was of different version.

In GTA IV, Niko Bellic, an Eastern European War veteran comes to United States in search of American Dream but in the middle, he gets entangled with a bunch of thugs and criminals leading to the start of the game.

Reliance To Offer 4G Services in India by mid-2012

Mukesh Ambani - once the richest man in the world and the man behind Reliance Industries revealed their company's future plans to roll out 4G data services and low cost tablets by mid-2012 in India, offering blazing fast speeds upto 50 – 100 Mbps (at-least seven times faster than the current 3G speeds in India)

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) plans to launch their 4G services across 700 cities in India by June, 2012, utilizing now RIL owned Infotel's pan-India spectrum license for broadband wireless access.

The company also revealed plans to launch their affordable low-cost data cards and Android-powered tablets, strategically priced between ₹ 3,000 ($60) – ₹ 8,000 ($165).

The company is said to be in final phase of talks with three vendors — Alcatel Lucent, Ericsson and Huawei to provision the 4G broadband gear for their network. On the tablet front the company is said to be in touch with over 15 Taiwanese and Chinese OEMs with their aim to offer devices across a wide spectrum of services at prices ranging from Rs 3,000 to Rs 15,000.

[Security] New Fake Adobe Flash Malware Disables Apple’s Malware Updates

According to security researchers at F-Secure, a new variant of an existing Trojan Horse posing as a legitimate Flash Player installer (named Flashback.C by F-Secure) is designed to disable updates to the default Mac OS X anti- malware protection system, potentially leaving the system open to the manual installation of other malware without any system warnings.

A Trojan horse works by fooling you into running it; in this case, Flashback disguises itself as an installer package for Flash Player. This Trojan horse is potentially capable of disabling XProtectUpdater-auto-update component of Apple’s built-in XProtect anti-malware application by overwriting the system binary that checks for updates.

Once installed, Flashback.C first checks to see if the user is running “Little Snitch,” a firewall program that could alert the user of its actions. If it is found to be installed, the trojan deletes itself. If it doesn’t find Little Snitch, the malware then tries to connect to a remote host in order to obtain other installation files and configurations. F-Secure notes that “the remote host is up but it does not [yet] push anything.” If and when the site becomes active, it could deliver a payload that the trojan could use to disable the system’s auto-updater, using Safari or Firefox to deliver the malicious code via an LSEnvironment variable that loads when the browser restarts. The local system would be unable to obtain the latest anti-malware definitions and could subsequently be infected by other malicious programs the user installs without seeing the warnings that Mac OS X’s XProtect feature is designed to present.

Google Doodle Celebrates Mary Blair’s 100th Birthday

In honor of the great American artist who is notably known for her work done for The Walt Disney Company, the Google Doodle is celebrating the artist’s 100th birthday by publishing a creative doodle on its homepage. The doodle is quite impressive and is based on the art of her work.

The Google Doodle went live today, however there are a set of viewers who are still not able to view the doodle. It’s probably due to the dateline thing.

Mary Blair:

Mary Blair is recognized all over the world. She was one of America’s greatest artists and is best remembered today for work done for The Walt Disney Company. You might not recognize her, but I’m sure you would have heard of the films Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South, and most famously Cinderella, for which Blair has produced the concept.

She was born on October 21, 1911 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She moved to Texas during her early ages, and later to California when she was about 7 years of age. Mary graduated from San Jose State College and won a scholarship at Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angele. In the year 1934, she married to a notable artist named Lee Blair who had won a gold medal in the art competitions of the Olympic Games for his “Rodeo”.
Life and Career of Mary Blair

After marriage, she worked in the animation industry in the Ub Iwerks (FYI, Ub Iwerks was the creator of Mickey Mouse)
She worked on art for Dumbo, an early version of Lady and the Tramp and a second version of Fantasia which was released late in 1990s.
She worked on two partially animated features Song of the South and So Dear to my Heart.

In early 1950s, Mary Blair was credited with color styling on Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
Mary resigned from Disney after the completion of Peter Pan and worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.
In 1967, Mary created mural art for the Tomorrow land Promenade, which is a 90-foot-high (27 meters) and remains a focal point of the Disney’s Contemporary Resort hotel at Walt Disney World, which was completed for the resort’s opening in 1971.
On July 26, 1978, Mary Blair died of a cerebral haemorrhage.

1996: She received the Winsor McCay award from ASIFA-Hollywood

Google and Samsung to Launch Android Ice Cream Sandwich and Galaxy Nexus on October 19

October was supposed to be a very exciting month for mobile enthusiasts. Apple was supposed to unveil the rumored new iPhones on October 4. Apple, however, didn’t launch the much anticipated iPhone 5. It launched only an upgraded version of the iPhone 4 – the iPhone 4S.
Unfortunately, right after the event, Steve Jobs passed away.
Google was supposed to launch the next version of Android — Ice Cream Sandwich — on October 11, but it postponed the launch event following news of Steve Jobs’ demise.
Today, Google and Samsung have sent out invitations again, saying that they will be holding the launch event on October 19. Strangely, the event will be held in Hong Kong, not in the U.S. Here’s the invite, courtesy BGR.

Google will be launching the next Nexus device – the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as well as the next version of Android — Ice Cream Sandwich — at the event.
The Galaxy Nexus is expected to be the most powerful Android device yet. It is rumored to have a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, a 4.65 inch touchscreen display and will support 4G connectivity. It’ll likely sport an 8 MP or 12 MP camera and have 1-2 GB of RAM.

BlackBerry Service status; regionwise worldwide update

RIM just made an official announcement about BlackBerry services. According to them the services are up for most of the regions except few carriers and inter-continent messages are still down. But this official information seems fake and services for me (specially BBM) are still down.

BlackBerry Service update:

Europe, Middle East, India and Africa:
E-Mail services are back and users are getting E-Mails without any delay. However I’m still experiencing some delays and getting some E-Mails from my inbox not all of them. Officially BBM is up but I still can’t send BBM to others even in the same country so the service is officially up and technically down. Internet Browsing is temporarily not available.
Canada and Latin America:
E-Mails, BBMs and Browsing are working fine but BBM and Browsing is currently unavailable for some carriers.
U.S:
E-Mails, BBMs and Browsing all are working fine. They are continuously working to remove any backlogged messages.
Service for some regions is working fine now but users are still facing some difficulties and users still can’t send messages from one region to another. But this official info definitely made some relief to frustated and BBM addicted BlackBerry users. Stay connected for more updates.

5 Biggest Threats to Aakash Tablet’s Success!

India has recently introduced a tablet device, named Aakash and it is a project headed by the Indian Government. It will be priced at $35, which is a ridiculously low price considering most tablet devices are not less than a few hundred US dollars.

The idea is to introduce young students in India, to the digital world by keeping it priced low enough to be affordable. It will have a 7 inch screen, 256 MB RAM, 2 GB storage space, WiFi enabled + supports a SIM Card. It will run on Android 2.2.

I read a lot about the Aakash tablets over the days and found 5 major hurdles to it becoming a success.

#1. Information
The information on its development was strangely unclear. We did cover it’s announcement over a year ago in August 2010. After that it seemed like the project was scrapped and suddenly it is being released in January 2012.
About 100,000 units will be available in January 2012, but still no clarity on which universities will be covered or even how one could pre-order the commercial version of the tablet.

#2. Profitability
There is a commercial version that will be sold for a little more but overall it does not seem to be a profitable business.
This might end up discouraging private players taking a part in the distribution of the tablet. A retail vendor will sell a device only if it makes them a lot of money.

#3. Inventory
The issue of inventory could literally make or break the success of such a gadget. I am not sure how much back-end research has gone into looking at how to distribute these tablets and which universities might adopt them leading to a greater success.
Also considering the cheaper version of the tablet is not for making profits, a corporate company that specializes in inventory will probably keep away from such a project.

#4. Connectivity
If the tablet is meant to go into the hands of people who cannot afford a computer, I wonder how they would afford to pay for its connectivity. Even if they can afford internet connectivity, broadband internet is not all that easily available in rural parts of India.
It has a WiFi card along with support for GPRS. GPRS is ridiculously slow and prohibitively expensive. The other option of is WiFi connectivity, but even that is not easily available.

#5. Support
Another problem arises on the issues of support. Who will support the tablet? What will be the developer environment around it? What sort of apps will it run? What will be the encouragement for developers to build apps for this particular device?
I do not want to write-off this project as a failure even before it starts but these 5 issues will be key. I am not sure if India has the infrastructure to support such a product, especially in rural areas. I think the creators have done a great job of creating a tablet device at such a low price. It is a technical marvel in that sense, but now its true test will begin.

Apple iPhone 4S - Specs,Features and Price

Along with the new Cards app, and the slightly updated iPod line-up, the fruit named company also announced its next-generation iPhone – the iPhone 4S.

The new iPhone sports the powerful A5 chip, which powers the iPad 2. There is a dual-core Cortex A9 processor inside, which is up to 2X powerful than its predecessor. The PowerVR SGX543MP GPU is up to 7x times faster than the GPU find inside the A4 chip.

Apple also emphasized on the battery life of the iPhone 4S. Apple quotes up to 8 hours of talk time on 3G, which increases to a whopping 14 hours on 2G. The battery will last for 6 hours while browsing on 3G, which increases to 9 hours on Wi-Fi. The new iPhone 4S is also capable of playing back videos for up to 10 hours, or continuously pump out music for a staggering 40 hours. Unlike the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S is a world-phone. This means there will be a single iPhone this year, for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint

The iPhone 4S also sports an updated 8MP camera, which has a backside illuminated CMOS sensor. This means better low-light pictures, which allow for up to 73% more light to pass through. There is also a Hybrid IR filter, better color accuracy and more color uniformity. The aperture size of the camera lens f/2.4 and it has a five-element lens with 30% more sharpness.

There is also a new custom designed ISP from Apple, which will enable iPhone 4S owners to take pictures in an instant, and have other features like face-detection and auto-white balance. Thanks to the dual-core processor, the new iPhone 4S is also capable of recording videos in Full HD (1080p) resolution. There is also real-time video image stabilization, which is a first for a phone along with real-time temporal noise reduction.
The new iPhone also has AirPlay Mirrioring, along with Wired Mirrioring. The iPhone 4S will also have a new voice recognition feature, Siri.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 4S begins from 7th October, and it will be available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the U.K, France, Germany and Japan. The 16GB iPhone 4S will be cost $199, while the 32GB and 64GB variant will cost $299 and $399 respectively.

The world is awaiting the Apple event “Let’s talk iPhone” which is set to happen in Apple HQ at Cupertino on October 4 which is now just few more hours away when I’m writing this and people are already excited to witness it live and I am here with all the ways with which you can witness it live online

Most of us around the world don’t get to go to Apple events because the invites are very pricy and very limited in number and are sent to only some people. So the only way we can watch Apple events is by watching Apple’s Live stream that is provided every year. Well this time it is not happening.
We got this news from 9to5mac who have actually spoken to a representative from Apple’s Public Relations sector. It has been noted, however, that they will provide a live closed feed to the UK for European journalists. The reason is still unknown. So it seems like people will have to stay tuned to Live-Blogs.

HTC Desire S Software Update Rolling Out; Brings Sense 3.0 UI and Android 2.3.5

HTC announced the successor to the original Desire, the Desire S at MWC this year. Compared to the predecessor, the S sports a faster CPU and GPU, along with more RAM and internal memory. When announced, the handset ran Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with Sense v2.1.

Now, it looks like HTC have started rolling out a new software update for the Desire S, which bumps the Android OS version to 2.3.5. The update also brings the latest version of Sense UI to the Desire S, which is quite surprising. The Sense v3.0 UI sports some nifty features like a lock screen with shortcuts, new animations and an updated launcher.
The update also brings some new widgets including Clock, Weather and Photo grid widgets, the latest version of Android Market, Calendar app and new Live Wallpapers. Post the update; Desire S owners can also use HTC’s Watch service. Users are also reporting a massive improvement in GPS performance.
It will be interesting to see how the new version of Sense affects the performance of the phone. The Sense 3.0 UI was considered to be a major culprit for all the lags and slowdowns on the dual-core powered HTC Sensation.

Burn ISO Image on USB Drive or Make Bootable USB from ISO with ISO To USB

In past we have covered several utilities for burning ISO images to CD & DVD, creating bootable CD using ISO files, mounting ISO file as drive, converting BIN, DMG files to ISO files and much more. Now here is yet another utility related to ISO files. ISO to USB, as the name suggest is the small freeware utility which lets you to easily burn ISO files to USB drive. You can also create bootable USB drives using Windows ISO file.

ISO to USB is 1.43 Mb in size and works on Windows 7, Vista & XP. Once you have downloaded & installed ISO to USB the rest of the process of burning ISO is pretty simple. Using browse button you can browse and select ISO file you want to burn.

Get The Old Facebook Interface Back

Since the last few months we have been seeing a lot of changes in Facebook and most have been occurring very rapidly,the latest one being yesterday (20th September) which brought a lot of changes to the the newsfeed and the chat at the sidebar which has been merged into one with live feeds but personally i feel that Facebook is acting more Twitter-ish.

I didn't like the new facebook design overhaul which went live yesterday so after much digging around i came up with a trick to get back the old interface , Steps after the jump.

Go to Account Settings.
Change the language to "English (UK)".
Logout and enjoy the old version.

Find and Download Subtitles While Watching a Movie on VLC Player!

I often watch movies on my computer. It runs on Windows 7 and my favourite movie player is VLC player. One very useful reason to do so, is the feature of downloading subtitles from the internet and synchronizing them with the movie I am watching.
I came across a nice Add-on for VLC Player, which allows the user to download subtitles of a movie while watching the film.

Using Subtitle Finder

First make sure your VLC player is updated. The latest version can be found from here.
Now visit Subtitles Finder, and download the (subtitles-mod.lua) file on your computer.
If only code is shown, copy-paste it into a notepad and save the file as subtitles-mod.lua. Make sure File Type is selected as ‘All Files’, otherwise the file might end up being saved as a .txt file.
This file has to be added into VLC Folder in Program Files on your computer. Below is the exact path where the file has to be added.
Windows (all users): %ProgramFiles%\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions\
Windows (current user): %APPDATA%\VLC\lua\extensions\
Now while you are watching a movie on DVD and do not find subtitles in English or any particular language then you can simply click on View >> Subtitles >> Download.
We have the option of searching but most times the subtitles are found without any trouble. Click on “Load Selected Subtitle” as you can see in the image above.
For older version of VLC player, you might have to look up the Subtitle Finder by clicking on View >> Extensions >> Subtitles.

Next time you are watching a movie, especially in a foreign language, this VLC extension will surely be most useful.

Facebook's New Privacy Settings: 5 Things You Need To Know

Facebook privacy settings have undergone several changes since December 2009, the latest one being in August 2011. Since your Facebook profile is associated with your real name you may want to keep more information private. And while you can always make parts or all of your profile private again, once information has been released to the Internet (e.g. search engines), This post will guide you on how you can control your privacy settings as of the August 2011 update, which was designed to be more user-friendly.

#1 Change the privacy settings for any old posts.
Before August 2011, you could not change the visibility of any posts that had already been published. If you accidentally made it too public, all you could do was delete it. Now there are two ways to adjust the visibility of old posts.

*To change the settings for an individual old post, find it on your wall, and hover the cursor on the upper right hand corner until a menu icon pops up. Click on that and change the visibility the same way as you would for a new post.

*To change the settings for all of your old posts, click on "Account" from the upper right hand corner and choose "Privacy Settings". Look for "Limit the audience for past posts" and click on the "Manage Past Post Visibility" link next to it. A dialog will pop up reminding you that this will set the visibility of all of your old posts to friends only. A few things to keep in mind: This is good if all of your old posts are more public than "friends only", such as if they were shared with everyone or with friends of friends, but it may also make private old posts (such as those which you shared with only certain friends) visible to all of your Facebook friends. Also, if you change your mind later, you'll have to individually go back and change each post's privacy settings, which can be unrealistically time-consuming.

#2 Check the visibility of any post that you comment on.
* If you comment on someone's post and they have set it to be visible to friends of friends or public, that means your comment might show up in all your friends' feeds.Before August 2011, you had no idea how public a person's update was, but now you can check by hovering the cursor over a little symbol at the end of the date details for an update:

* If it says "Shared with: (Name)'s friends of friends" or if the symbol looks like the Earth, that means all of your friends will be able to see your reply to that post.

#3 Take control of your tags.
The August 2011 update gives you more options to decide who sees posts, photos and videos you've been tagged in. Click on "Account" from the upper right hand corner and choose "Privacy Settings". Look for "How Tags Work" and click on "Edit Settings" next to it.

Consider turning on profile review. If profile review is on, you must approve tags before they will appear on your profile. Until you do so, the tag will appear as "pending." Remember that not approving the post doesn't mean that you're not tagged—it simply means that the tag will not appear in your profile. (To remove the tag, you must go to the post, picture, or video you've been tagged in and click on "remove tag" next to your name.)
Profile visibility. This lets you choose who can see posts that you're tagged in. Select an option in the drop down menu, or create your own option by clicking "Custom." If you have friends who tag you in potentially incriminating circumstances, you may wish to restrict this to people on your friends list who you trust not to hold any of the pictures against you.
Tag suggestions. When your friend uploads a photo that looks like you and this feature is enabled, Facebook will suggest that they tag you. The tag will only appear if your friend approves it. This facial recognition feature has been controversial and was declared illegal to be turned on by default in Germany.
Friends can check you into places. Leaving this option enabled will allow your friends to tag you with them when they check in to places. You will always be notified when friends check you in with them, and you have the ability to remove the checkin from your profile. If you disable this feature, they will not be able to check you in to begin with.
Tag Review. Turning on tag review will allow you to review any tags your friends add to your profile before the tags appear. This is for when people look at your photos and videos and want to tag themselves, or other people, in them

#4 Check who can see what on your info page.
Click the "Info" tab of your profile, and then hit edit in the right corner. Alternatively, click "Edit My Profile" under your name on the home page.

* Beside each piece of information you will see a drop down menu. You can decide which groups of people will see which information by clicking the menu and selecting the desired option. For example, you can set your work place visible to the public, but only allow your friends to see where you went to college.

* Toggle between different sections of your profile by clicking the options on the left hand side of the page.

#5 Preview your profile as someone else.
Want to check that your privacy settings are keeping elder cousin or your boss from seeing stuff you don't want them to see? You can now see your profile through their eyes. Actually, you have been able to do this for a long time, but it was tucked away deep in the privacy settings. As of August 2011, you can view your profile by clicking "View As..." on the upper right hand side of your profile.

*Type the name of the person you want to view your profile as. Hit enter. You will then be able to view your profile exactly as that person views it. Make notes of things you want to change. Check your photo albums, old posts, etc. Click "Back to Profile" when you're done.

4 Easy Steps To Increase Windows 7 Performance

Even if you’ve just bought a brand new computer complete with Windows 7, you may find you’re lacking some power. Most new computers are pretty quick these days, but they are usually set to some default settings that can be tweaked to give you more power for nothing. These tips aim to show you a few easy to change settings that will release some extra power and speed up your computer without having to install anything.

Click on your start menu and type the words “ease of use” into the search box, and then press return. You will find a section called Ease of Access Center. In this area scroll all the way down to the bottom and find a section called “Make it easier to focus on Tasks”. Click on this you’ll be taken a new screen. Go to the bottom of this screen and find the section called “Make it easier to manage windows”. Uncheck the box that prevents windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge. This will give you a small increase in performance.

Please note that you cannot move windows to the edge of the screen anymore to automatically arrange them afterwards.

Now go to your start menu again and type, “turn off features” into the search box. This will give you a search result called “Turn Windows features on or off”. Click on this and this will take you to an area that will enable or disable certain windows features. Disable anything you don’t need, such as games. It’s really up to you what you need and don’t need, so go down the list and decide what you use. If unsure, leave it enabled. Chances are you’ll find a few things to turn off, and that will free up resources in Windows.

Go back to your search from the start menu and type “uac”. This will enable you to change user account control settings. There will be a sliding bar that controls how often you are notified about changes to your computer. If you’re not worried about messages and are happy to let your computer manage itself, slide the bar all the way to “never notify”. This means you’ll get fewer messages, it will be less annoying, and you’ll boost your performance slightly.
Note: Disabling UAC is something that only experienced users should do, as it can impact the system’s security.

Now go to your start menu and right-click on “Computer”. You’ll get a sub-menu where you can then click on “manage”. In here, click on “services and applications”, and then on “services”. In services you have a number of different things, which can be turned on and off automatically on startup. Most things in here should be left alone, but one feature called “windows search” can take up a lot of resources. This is the indexing feature of windows. You can double click on this and choose “disabled” from the drop down list. This will help improve your computer’s performance, because Windows won’t be indexing every file from now on. Of course, you can always turn it back on again if you wish later.

Many experienced users don’t need some of the features mentioned above and can safely disable them, and that’s why they are specifically mentioned. Disabling services and turning off unused features will always increase performance, however little that performance gain may be. You may decide that some of these gains are undetectable on very fast computers.
