Tour de France is the annual bicycle race through France that finishes in Paris. It is the most prestigious and oldest bike race in the world. Covering more than 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles), the race lasts 23 days and is broken into stages. The rider with the shortest elapsed time each day wears a yellow jersey. People from around the world come to watch the Tour de France each year.

July 4th.  Now sure, any time you refer to the Fourth of July as America’s birthday, some know-it-all will point out that the Declaration of Independence wasn’t signed precisely on that day.  But a date had to be picked, and that’s the one the founding fathers chose.  Today, July 4th is marked by one of the greatest creations ever known to man… fireworks.  Every year, countless locations across the USA play host to some of the most spectacular fireworks displays on the planet.

New York City

Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks display is one of the most famous fireworks shows in the country.  Fireworks are released from three different locations within the city.  The Air Force does a flyover, and NBC broadcasts the event across the nation.  This isn’t even counting the numerous other fireworks displays taking place at the same time throughout the area, lighting up the night sky.

Philadelphia

While celebrate the fourth of July in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love?  Let us not forget that Philadelphia, was America’s first capital.  And, even more significant for July 4th, this is where the Declaration of Independence was signed.  What better place to celebrate the birth of a nation than in the city in which it was born?  Suffice to say, the city hosts one heck of a fireworks show.

Boston

This is a city that loves the Fourth of July.  If you hear “Stars and Stripes Forever” on the radio, chances are it’s being played by the Boston Pops.  Every year for over three decades the Boston Pops have played a top rate concert accompanied by one of the best fireworks shows in the country.  When it comes to celebrating the Fourth, you can never go wrong with Boston.

Washington D.C.

This one’s a no-brainer.  Washington D.C., the capital of the United States of America, is of course going to have one of the best fireworks displays for the Fourth of July.  The day begins with a parade along Constitution Avenue, culminating in a fireworks display over the Washington Monument.  Throughout the day, various institutions celebrate the holiday as well, from the Smithsonian Institute to the National Archives.

Chicago

Chicago exhibits not one but two fabulous fireworks shows, the first being on the third and the second on the fourth.  The shows are displayed over Lake Michigan, making the entire lake-front the best seats in the house.  Concerts and various other events happy throughout the city to accompany the two fireworks spectaculars.

San Diego

This is another city that loves the Fourth of July with events taking place throughout the city.  The largest fireworks display takes place over San Diego Bay with the “Big Bay” celebration.  Another great attraction around the Fourth is the San Diego County Fair, which is one of the best county fairs in California.

Seattle

“Family Fourth”, Seattle’s largest Fourth of July fireworks celebration is also considered one of the best in the country.  The event is a day long extravaganza filled with family activities and concerts for everyone.  The fireworks display takes place over Lake Union and features fireworks designs from throughout the world.

Lake Tahoe

Located in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Lake Tahoe spans over 192 square miles and is the second deepest lake in the United States.  It is also a major tourist attraction with a plentiful amount of outdoor summer recreation.  So why, you may ask, is Lake Tahoe on this list?  For no other reason than it is the single largest synchronized fireworks display west of the Mississippi.  Whether viewed from the shore, or from a boat out on the water, the show is spectacular.

Disneyworld

Disney’s theme parks have been known for some time for their fabulous fireworks displays, which are held on many days throughout the year.  So it goes without saying that on Fourth of July itself Disney pulls out all the stops.  Be warned though, this is no “well kept secret”.  July 4th and the days around it are considered to be some the busiest days of the year at Disney’s theme parks.  Show up early, and be ready for a crowd, but don’t worry, the show is worth it.

New Orleans

If there’s one city in the United States that knows how to party, it’s New Orleans.  Now sure, it is mostly known for its Mardis Gras celebration every year, but the city also hosts one heck of a Fourth of July bash.  The “Go 4th on the River Dueling Barges Fireworks Extravaganza” is considered one of the best in the nation.

Mount Rushmore

It is one of the most iconic monuments in the United States, featuring four of the nation’s greatest leaders, and every year it hosts one heck of a fireworks show.  Strangely though, the fireworks spectacle occurs on July 3rd instead of the Fourth.  This could provide a distinct advantage though as one could viably enjoy two great fireworks displays over one July 4th weekend.  The first at Mount Rushmore, followed by a show wherever one pleases on the Fourth.  It may require a bit of travel, but where’s your sense of adventure?

Whether it be New York, Mount Rushmore, or even Disneyworld, there is still one fireworks show that is greater than all the others, and that’s the one right down the street from your own home.  The Fourth of July may be a celebration of the USA, but it is even more so a day when Americans remember what it is they love so much about their country… the friends, neighbors, and family they share it with.

Philadelphia is jam packed with sports teams and stadiums. There’s something for every sports fan as long as you time your trip right. And for the fans of the four major sports in America, Philly actually has a major sports league team for each one.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are members of the East Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Eagles made it to the superbowl in 1980 and then again in 2004 but both times they were defeated. The ball club was established back in 1933 to replace the Frankford Yellow Jackets and were originally called the Blue Eagles. In 1943 WWII took a lot of the strong, young men away from sports pastimes or careers and in response Philadelphia and Pittsburgh merged their two teams into the Phil-Pitt Eagles or the Steagles, but this merger only lasted the one year.

The Philadelphia Eagles football team currently plays at Lincoln Financial Field, or The Linc as it’s called by Eagle fans. The stadium completed construction in 2003 and hosted its first even, a soccer match, in August. The stadium currently hosts a variety of sporting events and even concerts.

Philadelphia Phillies
The baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies have a had a bit more success than the Philadelphia Eagles and are the 2008 World Series champions and also earned that title back in 1980. The Phillies belong to the East Division of Major League Baseball’s National League. Unfortunately the Phillies have also had more trouble than the Eagles as they have the dubious distinction of having lost the most games of any team in the history of Major League Baseball. But one reason their losing streak is so long is because they are the oldest continuous, one-name, one-city franchise in all of American professional sports. Founded in 1883 they team has played in many different stadiums, its latest being Citizens Bank Park.

Citizens Bank Park began hosting the Phillies in 2004 where the first game was played on April 12^th. The stadium features real grass, angled seating, rooftop bleachers and a state-of-the-art design. It appears as if the Phillies will be able to spend many years at this stadium.

Philadelphia Flyers

The ice hockey team, the Philadelphia Flyers, is a part of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. As part of the 1967 NHL Expansion they team is not considered one of the original six teams, but they were the first time outside of that group to win the coveted Stanley Cup in both 1974 and 1975. Even though they’ve had five more turns at the cup they have yet to win it again. But, Stanley Cups aside, the Flyers have an all-time winning percentage of 0.578 which is the second best in the entire NHL (at the end of the 2008/2009 season).

The Philadelphia Flyers share the Wachovia Center with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Philadelphia Wings and Philadelphia Soul. Prior to being called the Wachovia Center it was known as the CoreStates Center and the First Union Center. This indoor arena was built in 1996 at a price of $206 million and in addition to being home to many different sports teams it hosts the area’s biggest concerts including 46 sold out Billy Joel concerts and 45 sold out Bruce Springsteen shows.

Philadelphia Wings

The Philadelphia Wings are a professional box lacrosse league and a part of the National Lacrosse League. The team was established in 1987 and was one of the original four teams in the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League, which was later renamed the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, and then changed to its current name. The Philadelphia Wings are the only franchise to have played all 21 seasons of professional box lacrosse in the same city and they’re holders of the most titled in the combined league history. Fans can catch a box lacrosse game at the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers, another team who regularly plays at the Wachovia Center, is frequently called the Sixers. This professional basketball team is the NBA’s oldest franchise but they did not start in Philadelphia but Syracuse and they were not officially know as the 76ers but the Syracuse Nationals. In 1963 the team moved to Philadelphia and a contest was held to determine the new name. Walt Stahlberg suggested the winning name of the 76ers after the year the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia. Some famous 76ers are Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Hal Greer and Moses Malone.

Philadelphia Soul

The Philadelphia Soul is another addition to the Philadelphia professional football line up, but Philadelphia Soul is an arena football team in the Arena Football League. A relatively new team, the Soul began in 2004 as an expansion team for the Eastern Division in the National Conference. They team seems to be doing quite well as they won their first ArenaBowl championship in 2008. The team is co-owed by famed rocker, Jon Bon Jovi and Craig Spencer along with several other lesser owners. Games are played at the Wachovia Center primarily but if there is a scheduling conflict the team can be seen at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Philadelphia Union

The Philadelphia Union is a brand spanking new team in Philadelphia. In May of 2009 the name the Philadelphia Union was announced as the moniker of Major League Soccer’s 16^th franchise. This addition to the city’s great sports teams is actually not a Philadelphia team as they’ll be playing in Chester at the Chester Stadium, a suburb of Philadelphia. In fact there’s a bit of controversy about the name as the city of Philadelphia seemed more than reticent to construct another sports stadium. Games won’t be played until 2010 although season tickets are already on sale.

Chester Stadium was built specifically for soccer, actually is still being built and isn’t expected to be completed until 2010. Chester Stadium will host the new Philadelphia Union and the Philadelphia Independence of the Women’s Professional Soccer organization. Panasonic will have a place of prominence in the stadium as it is one of the major contributors.

Believe it or not there are many more sports teams and locales in Philadelphia, for sports fans it’s really an incredible city.

It’s well known that Boston is a historic city filled with significance to the United States of America but not many people know that Boston actually is home to a remarkable 55 National Historic Landmarks. Rather than list them all here, we’ll just give you the run down on some of the most popular ones.

Old City Hall

Old City Hall

Boston’s Old City Hall was home to the city council in from 1865 to 1969. The Old City Hall was one of the first French Second Empire style buildings built in the United States and unfortunately it is one of the only remaining French Second Empire buildings left standing. After 1969 the Old City Hall was converted to serve other functions and is now considered one of the early examples of successful adaptive reuse. The building made the National Historic Landmark list in 1970 and currently houses a number of businesses and restaurants including a Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

Faneuil Hall

Faneuil Hall is located near the waterfront and serves as the government center for Boston. Since 1742 Faneuil Hall has served as a marketplace and meeting hall and features many great speeches by famous orators of their day. Pay attention to the gilded grasshopper weather vane atop the building as it was once used as a test to determine if people were spies, they would be asked what animal lives atop Faneuil Hall and if they said grasshopper they were safe but if they said some other animal they were considered a spy. Faneuil Hall was rated the fourth most visited tourist site by Forbes Traveler in 2008.

Quincy Marketplace

Faneuil Hall Marketplace has been an important part of the Bostonian marketplace for more than 250 years and is still a hub for the city’s sights, sounds and tastes. Quincy Marketplace is located in Faneuil Hall and served as an indoor expansion of the marketplace where vendor stalls were placed for shopping in any sort of weather. Although the building still stands and still provides food for visitors the type of food has changed greatly, rather than fresh produce the stands are now full of fast food restaurants.

Paul Revere house, Boston, Massachusetts

Paul Revere House

Even most school children know of the great American patriot, Paul Revere and his famous ride during the American Revolution. His three story colonial home was built around 1680 and is located where the Second Church of Boston, home of Increase Mather and Cotton Mather, was before the fire of 1676. Paul Revere owned the home from 1770 until 1800 although his family may have lived somewhere else during much of that time period. After it was sold it became a tenement with storefronts on the first store and in 1902 a relative of Paul Revere purchased the building to prevent demolition and restore it to its previous condition. The home was opened to the public in 1908 as one of the earliest historic house museums in the United States and can still be toured by the public today.

Tremont Street Subway

The Tremont Street Subway is a tunnel in the Boston subway system and is the oldest of its kind having opened in 1897. The tunnel once served to move streetcar lines off the streets but now it is a central part of the green line.

Fort Warren

Fort Warren is a historic fort located on Georges Island at the entrance to the Boston Harbor. Constructed from 1833 to 1861 the fort defended the harbor until the end of WWII and served as a prisoner of war camp during the Civil War. In 1947 the fort was decommissioned and currently serves as a tourist stop.

Trinity Church Boston

Trinity Church Boston

The Trinity Church of Boston is a modern congregation reaching about 3,000 households regularly. Founded in 1733, the original site burned in the Great Boston Fire of 1872 and the current church was constructed from 1872 to 1877. It is noted as the birthplace and archetype of the Richardsonian Romanesque style architecture and became popular across American, Europe and Canada.

USS Constitution

The USS Constitution is a heavy frigate of the U.S. Navy and is the oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat in the world. Launched in 1797 the Constitution was one of the original frigates commissioned by the Naval Act of 1794. Since then the Constitution has severed in many wars throughout the years and has also been an ambassador and training ship. The ship was eventually dry docked and much talk was made of its restoration and sailing again for its 200^th anniversary. In 1995 the Constitution was taken out of dry dock and on July 20^th 1997 she made her first sail in 116 years. Currently she has a crew of 60 who hold educational programs, host special events and appear in ceremonies. The ship has been undergoing a more extensive repair since 2007 and isn’t expected to be fully completed until September 2010.

Boston Public Garden

The Public Garden of Boston was established in 1837 by Horace Gray who was pressuring the city to establish the first public botanical garden in the United States. The 24 acre park features a variety of paths, flower beds, statues and fountains and a lake. The park is currently maintained by a joint effort of the Mayor’s Office, the Parks Department and the non-profit group, Friends of the Public Garden. It’s a great place to spend an afternoon relaxing and enjoying the weather.

Boston Common

Boston Common (sometimes referred to as Boston Commons) is one of the oldest parks in the country having been established in 1634. The 50 acre park is considered the anchor of the Emerald Necklace, a name given to a system of connected parks that wind through many Boston neighborhoods. Several different activities have taken place in the park from cattle grazing until 1830 and public hangings until 1817. Prior to the Revolution British troops camped on the park ground before heading into battle at Lexington and Concord. In its most recent incarnation the park has served as a location for celebrity speeches and casual recreational activities by all sorts of visitors.

The ebb and flow of popularity in Atlantic city can be hard on the local economy as they seem to last a long time and there’s several years before a new wave washes ashore in this Jersey ocean side city, but the good news is Atlantic City is riding a current wave of popularity that is making it a happening hot spot once again.

If you’re looking for a great place to vacation that offers the fun and excitement of a Las Vegas style vacation and the relaxing ocean front frolicking of Florida then it’s Atlantic City all the way, baby. Nightclubs are king in this city and no vacation to Atlantic City is complete without spending at least one night carousing in one of these nightclubs.

Voted the number one nightclub in Atlantic City (or maybe just dubbed that by the owner himself), Trump’s Casbah is a truly stunning club scene. Located in the world-famous Taj Mahal, Casbah is often one of the most happening hot spots in the city and can cram in more than 2000 people at once. Casbah is the one place in town where you’re almost guaranteed to rub elbows with a celebrity, the problem is, with a crowd this huge you’re most likely not to even notice. Casbah knows how to create the right mix of celebrity, thumping music and sex to come up with a winning combination.

Ego

Trump’s big Ego is on full display in the Taj Mahal’s gaming floor. Ego is one of the latest entrants into Atlantic City’s night life and it’s just a little different than the traditional club. A contemporary club with 11,000 square feet, 360 seats, 27 flat screened televisions, private cabanas and martinis to suit all tastes. There are two house bands, Elan and Dave Anthony & the Edge to provide guests with some entertainment. The most unique aspect of Ego and one that might soon be copied by other casinos, is that it is visible from the gaming floor and draws attention to itself rather than being hidden on a top floor or tucked into an alcove.

Mixx at the Borgata

The Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa brings a couple options to the table and they’re all pretty happening and popular, depending on what sort of crowd you’re looking for. The first Borgata entry is MIXX, which pushes the envelope of energy. Top DJs spin tunes for a crowd that just doesn’t seem to stop moving. Sign up for bottle service and you’ll get the VIP treatment all night long, a rare treat for some that may be worth the added expense.

Mur Mur

Borgata’s low key entrant in the nightclub game is Mur Mur, another retreat for the famous but that’s mainly because they can retreat to the darkened corners and fade from view. Mur Mur also offers bottle service for those wanting to play VIP for the night, but Mur Mur is one of the more expensive clubs in town so perhaps it’s not the place to try bottle service for the first time. But keep this in mind, it’s the prices that keep the atmosphere so relaxed.

Blue Martini

Bally’s Blue Martini is a chic low key martini bar with more than 100 selections to keep you interested. The built-in frosted ice rail is ideal for chilling your drink while you check out the atmosphere. The live music prerequisite is fulfilled but three 60-inch plasma screens give you something to look at.

Bikini Beach Bar

Another Bally nightclub is the Bikini Beach Bar which takes advantage of their sandy location on the sea. This outdoor establishment is open only during the tourist season but since the dress code is basically swimwear this seems like more than perfect timing. The Bikini Beach Bar offers a lot of promotions and events so keep your eyes and ears pealed for free tickets or drink deals.

Providence

The Tropicana has found its own way into the nightclub scene with Providence, a New York City styled club and ultra lounge. Touting the New York City atmosphere is a little weird as the hotel prides itself on being Havana inspired, but whatever they are the vibe seems to be happening. Two DJ booths stationed across the dance floor create a back and forth high energy atmosphere that oozes excitement.

Tango’s Lounge

Tango’s Lounge in the Tropicana follows the Havana vibe more closely as its relaxed and laid back with a distinct island feel. This lounge is a nightclub in the old sense, not in the thumping new sense of the word. Sit back at Tango’s Lounge and enjoy live jazz, reggae, or salsa and sip tropical cocktails. Club Worship at the Showboat

Club Worship is brought to you by Showboat & The House of Blues. This three story nightclub features dance floors, private booths, two bars, and intimate seating. A word to the wise though, the sub woofers on the first floor are ridiculous and they vibrate the entire floor and can cause some hearing damage, so stick to the upper two floors for a more enjoyable evening.

The Pool After Dark

Every teen has learned that there’s nothing quite like a pool after dark so Harrah’s decided to take it a step further with The Pool After Dark, a hip nightclub located around their pool. DJs keep the crowd moving and the energy flowing while drinks are liberally poured for guests. There’s just something about this outdoor party that makes it more friendly and fun than your traditional nightclub.

Dusk

Not opening until the summer of 2009, Dusk is highly anticipated but there isn’t much information on the amenities. All we know is it’s set to be a high energy club featuring hip hop, industrial, pop and top 40 music.

Atlantic City is on the move and gaining in popularity and as the casinos begin to realize their successes you can expect that the club scene will continue to keep changing as old clubs just don’t draw the crowds like new and trendy ones do. Keep your eyes peeled because what is new and happening this year is bound to be old news next year.

The big news breaking across the world this week is, of course, that Michael Jackson has died unexpectedly at the age of 50. There aren’t too many corners of the world where Jackson wasn’t well-known; or you might be one of the one million people who bought tickets to the fifty sold-out concerts in London that were meant to start in a couple of weeks. As for me, Thriller was the very first album I ever owned, so there’ll always be something special about Michael Jackson for me and millions of others, too.

If you want to plan something of a Michael Jackson tribute trip around the world, here are a few of the places you might want to stop by:

• Visit Madame Tussauds in London to see a pretty realistic looking wax figure of Michael Jackson. Better still, wait until July and that’s the time that Madame Tussauds have been planning to unveil their new Michael Jackson wax figure. Whether the recent news will change this or not is something we’ll have to wait and find out about later, but the plans had been to unveil the “moonwalking Michael Jackson” wax figure next month, after four months of construction time.
• Stop by Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara county, California. Neverland was, of course, Jackson’s dream ranch and still includes vineyards, but unfortunately it seems most of the amusement rides Jackson once enjoyed there were removed last year. Perhaps this ranch will become a tourist attraction in future years.
• If you’re in Asia, stop by Shanghai in China to visit the local branch of Madame Tussauds and you will already find a special tribute to Jackson. On the very day of his death, staff have already rearranged their exhibition and set up a wax figure of Jackson at the entrance to the museum.
• Follow fans to the location of Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indianna – since his death, fans have been flocking to this house and lighting candles in a vigil to recognize the occasion, as well as placing gifts there such as flowers or stuffed toys.

Moscow might be one of the most famous cities in the world, but it’s one that’s only just becoming a mainstream tourist destination. It has built a reputation for being expensive to visit, with especially high accommodation costs, but there are so many interesting and famous sights to see that it’s worth saving up for. Must-visit places in Moscow include:

• Red Square in the center of Moscow is the heart of many attractions, and is surrounded by the Kremlin, the colorfully quirky Saint Basil Cathedral and the slightly creepy Lenin Mausoluem, where Lenin’s mummified body lies.
• The Bolshoi Theatre and several theatres nearby where you can see famous Russian ballerinas perform.
• The Metro system – many underground train stations were decorated during Communist times and they are like visiting an art gallery. Some have stained glass windows throughout, others are covered with bronze statues, and still more have incredibly intricate mosaic ceilings depicting typical socialist scenes like women driving tractors.
• For real art, try the Tretyakov Gallery which has a massive collection of Russian art.
• If you want a fun day out, try Gorky Park, which surely is no Disneyland, but still an interesting place to observe what regular Moscow people do on their day off.
• Novodevichy Convent is open as a historical site, and the Novodevichy Cemetery next to it includes the grave sites of many famous Russians, including Boris Yeltsin, Nikita Khrushchev and Anton Chekhov.

According to the U.S. Travel Association, approximately 54 percent of American households are planning a summer vacation. If you’re one of 38 million U.S. adults that have not yet decided whether or not to take your family on a summer vacation, here are some great ideas to plan a vacation without breaking the budget.

First, you need to decide what kind of vacation that you want. Do you want to go sightseeing? Or relax at a resort and do nothing? Or maybe connect with nature? Whatever your family chooses, make sure it’s a vacation that everyone is going to enjoy. If members in your family have different ideas on what they want to do, then try to compromise and plan a few activities that will appeal to each family member.

Now that you know what you want to do, you need to create a budget and set a date. Consider traveling during off-peak times if possible, and avoid traveling during holidays. Compare airfare, hotel and rental car costs at your selected destination. If you’re considering a travel package, make sure the break the package into individual components and see if you’re really getting a deal. Sometimes it’s cheaper to bundle your airfare and hotel and then get the rental car separately. Also, you might be able to get them at a lesser rate if you’re willing to travel during the week rather than on the weekend. Not only will you save money, but it will be less crowded and you’ll probably get better service.

Another way to save on your vacation is to eat-in by cooking your meals at the hotel rather than eating out. You might pay more for the hotel room that includes a kitchen, but if you factor in the costs of feeding a family of four at a restaurant versus eating-in at your hotel, you’ll probably find that the upgraded hotel room is a greater savings. Bring pre-packaged snacks and water for your day excursions, and avoid paying the higher prices for snacks at the theme parks.

Make sure that your family budget includes shopping for souvenirs. U.S. Travel Association notes that the most popular domestic trip activity is shopping. It’s an easy way to break your family budget while on vacation. If you’re traveling with kids, let them know ahead of time what their souvenir budget is. It will make everyone more conscious of their spending and reduce buyer’s remorse.

Ever-expanding airline Emirates has made its main hub of Dubai an increasingly popular stopover point for long-haul journeys between many continents. Now that Dubai is starting to become a recognized destination of its own, it seems that Emirates is ready to cash in on its routes to other countries in the Middle East region and they have recently started offering customers the Arabian Airpass.

This new deal is available to any Emirates passengers who have paid more than $500 for a return flight to Dubai. They are then eligible to add on Arabian Airpass tickets to twelve different destinations in the region, including Cairo, Doha, Beirut, Tehran, Amman and Riyadh. The prices range from US$50 to $150 for one way passes, and you must return to Dubai. Compared to other possibilities, this is certainly a very reasonably priced way to discover some more Middle Eastern destinations and it’s at a price where you can afford to do so for a one or two-night quick trip.

There are not too many restrictions involved, apart from the requirement to buy all your tickets at the outset; there are no minimum trip length rules either. For each Dubai trip there is, however, a maximum of six flight coupons available per passenger.

One of the most iconic symbols of Australia, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, is not only a functional traffic and pedestrian bridge crossing one of the world’s most beautiful harbors – it’s also becoming a classic tourist experience for visitors who want to get a different view of Sydney by getting right to the top of the bridge.

BridgeClimb has now been running for ten years, and around two million people have been brave enough to inch their way up to the top of the giant structure. In fact, it’s not something that can really be classed as adventure travel – the extensive safety precautions make it suitable for nearly everyone and the main restrictions are that you are physically healthy and reasonably fit – and over ten years of age.

The cost to join a climb on Sydney Harbour Bridge might the main restriction for some tourists. The cheapest rate is A$189 (US$140) and the prices increase for more popular times. And although it’s a once in a lifetime experience, climbers are also not allowed to take cameras with them (in case they fall onto the road beneath) so you’ll have to rely on the tour leaders for photographic evidence of your feat. But the view is, of course, spectacular.
