<p>Today might be the last day of school for some metro Atlanta students, but according to SFERRA, the makers of luxury linens, it is never too late to learn.</p>
<p>Today <a href="http://www.sferra.com/" target="_blank">SFERRA University</a> teaches us about pilling. For those of you who don’t already know, pilling often occurs when fibers “break, tangle and ball up.” Typically natural fibers like cotton, linen and wools tend to pill from excessive cleaning or use. Pay close attention to the laundering instructions on your linens. Avoid chlorine bleach and fabric softener which can further weaken the fibers. <p>SFERRA also teaches us that the “longer the cotton fiber, and the tighter the twist of the yarn, the more stable the fabric will be and the less chance there will be for pilling.” SFERRA only uses long length fibers.</p>
<p>Another factor that can cause pilling is your sleeping habits. If you are a restless sleeper you might experience greater instances of pilling with your linens. SFERRA recommends a more durable weave such as Grande Hotel, Celeste or Sereno.</p>
