Sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Super Saturdays are comprehensive church ministry training events. Hundreds of participants are expected at each of the six locations.

<item><title><![CDATA[Ky. Church Confronts Danger of Moral Failure]]></title><pubDate>Fri, 11 Jul 2008 03:01:33 PM -0400</pubDate><description><![CDATA[PADUCAH, Ky. (BP)--When Todd Brady heard about a minister at a prominent Texas Baptist church being caught in a sex sting, his first thought was, "Oh, Lord, I pray we never see something like that happen here in our church."

His second thought was, "What do we need to do to prevent it?"

With that question, the new pastor at First Baptist Church in Paducah, Ky., called the staff together determine what steps they could take to be sure none of them made a bad decision that would bring disgrace to the Gospel and the church.

The result was a strongly worded resolution, replete with Scripture references, that was mailed to every family in the congregation. Baptist Injured During Mission Trip]]></title><pubDate>Tue, 1 Jul 2008 02:14:06 PM -0400</pubDate><description><![CDATA[LEXINGTON&#8212;A Kentucky Baptist man serving on a mission trip in Russia is back home in Kentucky after sustaining serious injuries in a car accident June 6.

Lawrence Kendrick, a member of First Baptist Church of Junction City, was visiting friends in the city of Bryansk, Russia, approximately 235 miles from Moscow, when the taxi cab he and others were riding in was struck by a dump truck on Kendrick&#8217;s side of the vehicle.

Scott, a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Auburn, competed with nine drill champions from other Southern Baptist state conventions.
