Sponsored by the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Super Saturdays are comprehensive church ministry training events. Hundreds of participants are expected at each of the six locations.

Pittman said the blog is designed to boost awareness of &#8220;the need for all churches, no matter their size, to be directly involved in missions.&#8221;

(BP)--The Good News raced across Louisville like a thoroughbred at Churchill Downs June 20 when 3,000 Southern Baptist volunteers braved 95-degree temperatures for Crossover '09, an evangelistic effort prior to each year's Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting.

<item><title><![CDATA[Strong April CP Receipts Help Reduce Deficit]]></title><pubDate>Wed, 13 May 2009 03:51:05 PM -0400</pubDate><description><![CDATA[LOUISVILLE &#8211; Cooperative Program receipts received in April exceeded $2 million for the second time in the current fiscal year, and have narrowed the budget deficit to 3.26 percent.

Kentucky Baptists gave $2,129,676 through CP in April, bringing the total dollars received to $15,478,385 eight months into the 2008-2009 fiscal year. <item><title><![CDATA[Church holds the rope for CP missions]]></title><pubDate>Thu, 7 May 2009 01:42:12 PM -0400</pubDate><description><![CDATA[INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (BP)--Pastor Will Langford of Hickory Grove Baptist Church still has the six-inch length of anchor-line rope he received when he was in seminary.

"Hold the rope," Langford recalled a missionary leader in the mid-1980s challenging a class at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

"As pastors, you need to hold the rope for our missionaries," Langford remembers being told.
