Ran out on a motor vehicle accident call tonight, which turned out to not be anything big. Caught this gorgeous sky as I was heading back to my car.
Also, found half a bra laying on the ground in the interstate median.

Went up to Anson again yesterday to cover a county commissioners court meeting about buying a new jail. They’ve got a brand-spankin’ new one sitting there in town, empty. So new, it still has the wrapping paper on it.

I went out to a house fire in north Abilene this evening. While walking up the back alley to the house, through all the smoke, I made this photo of the sun starting to set…

Last night, word came down that the Dublin Dr Pepper bottling plant, in Dublin, Texas, would stop producing it’s Imperial Cane Sugar-sweetened elixir.
Sadly, it was true.
Today, I drove down to Erath County to talk to folks about what the loss of the iconic beverage would mean for the town, and it’s economic future.

On a whirlwind trip to vist family in Fayetteville, AR, we made a side trip to Bentonville to visit the recently-opened Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

The Walton family has certainly made something impressive with their Walmart fortunes.

The entire complex is beautiful, and the works gathered there are a treat for the eyes. If you’re ever in the area, you should stop in…

Went up to Anson in Jones County today for a story.

This afternoon, I got to take a few quick photos at the wedding of Claire and Bob. They had dated for two years in the 1940s, then Bob moved away to college, and they lost touch.
Claire married, raised a family, and has been divorced for about 30 years.
Bob married, raised a family, and his wife of almost 60 years died a few years ago.
Lonely, he started looking up old high school pals on the internet. And that’s how he found Claire.
They swapped messages, and picked up where they left off six decades before.
It was a joy to get to be there today.
