I watched as this giant green caterpillar traveled across the garden in late September. While it was making its way across a dead branch lying in its path, I went inside for my camera. I found it again at the very top, with nowhere else to go and helped him get safely back on the ground to continue on his journey to become a giant Polyphemus Moth in the spring.

Taltos Fortune Teller Tea Cup

“Perchance this cup will show it thee. Would’st thy fortune like to see?” is written around the outside of the cup. In the center of the cup is a sailing ship surrounded by fortune-telling symbols. Saucer is decorated with the signs of the zodiac, a shamrock is in the center. Both the saucer and the cup are in lovely condition. My husband had accompanied a friend to a tea leaf reader who offered to tell him his fortune too. Our Little Yorkie, Winston

I am so grateful to SOSDogs.org for rescuing this little Yorkie. He lived behind a convenience store after being beaten and abandoned in the middle of winter last year. Severely matted and frightened, he survived on food left for him by people who cared but would not let anyone near him. After 2 months on his own, a woman and her two daughters, bless their hearts, spent 2 days in the freezing weather trying to coax him near enough to be able to catch him. SOSDogs (save our small dogs) paid for much needed medical attention and then he spent 6 months with a foster mom who taught him how to trust people and what life in a loving home looks like.

When I saw his little face on Pet Finders and read his story, I knew I wanted to adopt him. The process to qualify for a rescue such as this is rather extensive but we made it and Winston is now happily adjusting to life with our family.

Don’t you just love a happy ending?
