Ever wonder what my kids do when I'm working?

Recently my husband decided it was "OK" to jump on our bed. I've never encouraged this because I'm so paranoid of accidents.

But hey, childhood is fleeting and I want them to remember their time at this age as pure JOY!

So as I sit here this morning and edit some images, THIS is what is going on behind me... on my bed!!!!

I have to add though, they are becoming quite the creative duo with their "Monkey Business"....

How could I tell them to stop????

Ty is really putting his ALL into this next jump...

I see expression even in his fingers and toes!

You know how hard it is to photograph another photographer's family?! Well, this is not just any other photographer... I have been admiring Brooke's work for a long time, and when she moved closer to me a couple of months ago, I was ecstatic! Only problem... how would I fair? How can I possibly meet her standards? hehehe

As it turns out, I had nothing to worry about ;-)

Brooke and her family are the sweetest beings! Not to mention my kids adore her kids! So yeah, we've been getting to know each other and "playing" together quite often. There's just never enough time! lol

The best part is... we have so much in common and we totally share the same visions!!!
I've found a friend, a colleague, that I can confide in and delight in the same ventures! :)

Just Beachy - Keila June Photography

So yesterday we decided to go to the beach...

I mean, we are literally 10 minutes away for a 83 degree ocean water :-) So why not?

But summertime calls for an occasional "afternoon thundershower", as we call it here in FL... lol

You could see the heavy rain clouds a couple miles down, but where we were there was sun shining. It made for an amazing dark backdrop!!!

{So here is Bella - doing what she does best - running and chasing animals away!!

I should post a photo of her making our ducks take flight, hilarious!}

{This is funny.... you see, this is how Ty hides himself when playing hide and seek with his sis.

And we always have such a good laugh, when he believes no one can see him!!!}

I have been into darker and richer edits lately, I love all the vibrant colors and still be able to keep a soft plush look to them :-)

Maternity Session - Keila June Photography

What a fun session we had!! It was hot though, VERY hot actually.

I was a mess and all sweaty, but my clients on the other hand, were able to look ah-mazing under the circumstances!!!

I'm very happy that we were able to get such beautiful images considering the mid day sunshine. :)

I met M and F at my parent's church.

So we've talking and planning about this session for a couple of months already.

They picked the location, which has its special meaning to them.

What I remember most from this session is LAUGHING, a lot... :D we had so many funny moments, but I won't share them all. But let me tell you that this little boy will be a very lucky one to have parents that are crazy about him already!!

Little Miss Ava!!! How sweet she is... and better yet was to get to know her parents a little better!!
Mike works with my husband and so I've been honored to meet his wife too.... and now, their beautiful daughter!

First, I'll start off with the one quick snapshot I took of them while they were still expecting, on our trip to the Keys.
{so you may know what I mean when I say beautiful people, inside and out!}

I felt a little shy when I offered to take photos of Ava, since she is surrounded by professional photographers, including her grandparents!!!

But I'm so glad I did.... and when Tiffany accepted, I was at their front door 3 days after Ava entered their lives!! Woohooooo!!!

I just realized this is the first party I blog about! HA!

Whenever I have birthday parties, I get a little overwhelmed with the amount of photos and...
usually have a hard time choosing just a few to blog about, and so I make an album on my FB page.

But I must admit, this was a super fun party and so I just HAD to show them in better quality than on facebook!

I loved that this family has once again trusted me with their special memories, and so, I am able to see their precious children becoming a year older!

I think it's the funniest thing when parents tell me that their new baby sleeps through everything.

This little lady in particular, has to be "woken-up" to eat... HA!

My Family...

We were blessed with my sister's visit last March.

We were able to catch up, and try to make up for the time apart.

Cousins played and laughed....

Sisters hugged and talked...

And the BIGgest blessing is for my parents to have ALL grandchildren together again.

I know for my mom, it is so important to take these photos... and so Mommy, these are for you!!

Love Story

I was inspired by Paint The Moon's theme for this week's challenge: Handwritten.

It made me revisit an old collection of handwritten poems and letters that my sweetheart wrote to me before we were married.

It was pure delight to read it all over again! Some brought happy tears just to know I married my best friend whom I met when I was only 13.

We have grown so much since, and although we don't necessarily express these things to each other in the same way anymore, I love him so much more as the years go by.

I thank the Lord for our past, our present days and the future... growing old together.

Here was my photo for week 12/52...

Oh man.

This was the best session to date! Owen was a DREAM baby!!
So sweet, so cute, so laid back, and so mushy.... :-)
Plus, his parents are AWESOME people!! I loved the vibe, the music playing in the background, and the all conversations we had. Long. lost. friends.
I really can't call this "work". I love what I do, and people like C and K make it all worthwhile.

C and K, thank you for entrusting me with this special time in your lives, I had a blast meeting you guys.

I was really excited when I got the phone call to photograph her. Not only does she have gorgeous parents and the sweetest grandparents.... but I knew she'd be modeling LOTS of cute stuff her grandma knits. :)

We "photographers" always look at each other's photos. And one thing that always attracts me (and I honestly envy) are those fields... with the overgrown grass, mountains and wild flowers. Well, not a very realistic location here in Florida. But lately, I have had my eye on this place, and every time I pass by it, I always wondered "what if I bring my next client here?"... and I did!! : )

So I got to photograph one of my favorite blue eyed girl last week... She has the most amazing and piercing blue eyes ever!!

Pinto Bean!!

I'm so glad I finally got to meet Ethan, aka Pinto Bean! This meant I was also able to catch up and spend time with an old friend... Don't you just love when you have something you in common with someone?? Well, us mommies LOVE to talk all sorts of "mommy" stuff, and I think we covered just about everything, from nursing to potty training... ;)

So back to the little Pinto Bean, although not as little as when he was first named that.... he is one of the cutest and most laid back babies ever. You know, the ones that don't cry? Yup, all I heard from him were those adorable little coos and squeals! Jenn, you are one lucky mama...

When they first arrived we headed to the pool....

My Boy! - Keila June Photography

BOYS... They just bring so much fun, and love and DIRT into your life.... Have you seen the new automatic soap dispenser? Well, my son loves that thing! He can stand there washing his hands for 30 minutes, well not actually "washing" them.... more like, having fun with the dispenser. At least his hands are clean, right?

And here is my entry... a picture of my very handsome son. ;)

I edited it using Florabella Gypsy and Musette actions, both at 18% opacity, then I added the Lustre texture (warm) from her Fine Art Texture set I at a lower opacity (I forgot the exact number)

So there.... Hope you pick ME to test out your new texture set ;)

So my blogging journey begins...

First, I figure I'd start of with a few pictures of my daughter (you know... oldest goes first) ;)

When she's happy, it shows. No matter what my mood is, she always seems to make me laugh...

And she also has some killer curls!!!

This one... believe it or not, she did all by herself. She stood by the tree and said "mama, how about this pose?" Oh, how I love her!

She's been cuddling this bear since birth...

Yes... I'm bloggin' now.
