Meet Ellen Meriam Go Adarna a self-made internet celebrity. Her online celebrity status started from posting (she did it excessively) her pictures at Friendster, MySpace, forums, blogs, and many other sites now she is a sensation. This led to numerous impersonators posting fake social networking accounts that used her photos.

She became an instant celebrity in the internet world…she is now the Philippines’ queen of myspace. Adding to her fame is her appearance in the July 2005 and June 2006 covers of Candy Mag.

With all that publicity and followers comes the drawback of being famous – her pictures were distributed by stalkers, impostors (pretending to be her and using her name) etc. She was banned from Friendster though if you search her name Ellen Meriam Go Adarna, the search would produce 20 plus accounts, all with the same name and her photo. Her blogspot address http://ellenmeriamadarna.blogspot.com was abandoned because of many bad comments from other people, like this one:

“she ignored me and the next thing I knew she’s a bi*** u might get mad of her..coz she’s totally mean..I was blind at first..but now i know who that girl really was SHE behind her beauty”

Wow what a bum?! The benefit and detriment of fame come in one package together. It is in the person’s attitude in handling glory, be it good or bad….One wealth of advice “humble thyself to people you come across along they are the people you’ll meet on your way back.

Her tremendous popularity even recently landed her in the cover of UNO (a local Men’s magazine) and an Interview/Spread. (Click the picture for more)

The tiger had to be rescued from a date palm tree where she had sought sanctuary after being chased and stoned by terrified villagers.

She had strayed into the village at Deulbari about 150 miles south of Calcutta from the nearby Sunderbans Tiger Reserve. She was eventually shot with a tranquillizer dart and captured before being taken aboard the fishing vessel. Her wounds were treated before she was released deep inside the mangrove reserve.

After leaping into the sea she swam powerfully into the shallows and bounded away to safety. Atanu Raha, West Bengal’s chief conservator of forest, said: “Although the tigress received some injuries while being tranquillised and caught, she was treated and found fit to be released in the reserve area.”
