As per the norm, we went to my aunt’s house for their annual 4th of July party. This year my uncle was in town. It’s been many, many years since I saw him last (I want to say 2002).

Crazy bunch of mo-fos.

Again, as per the norm, we went to Mundelein for the fireworks. The finale was just as good as usual, but a bit short.

In other news… wish me luck. Tomorrow (Monday) I’m starting the Fat Smash Diet.

Well, I did.

My sister and her husband live in Sasebo, and back in April my mom and I went to visit. We were there for about nine days, which was totally not enough time to see and do everything I wanted. So I need to go back. I’d like to spend some time in Tokyo.

I had monkeys climb on me.

I stood where the atomic bomb dropped in Nagasaki.

Went on a boat tour of the area.

I tasted habu-sake – kudos to my mom who downed a whole shot. I don’t have any photos on Flickr to post here, but I dare you to do a Google image search.

There are a shit-ton of photos here if you haven’t seen them yet.

Today, kellybelly.net turns eight years old.

The archives only go back to 2005, because that’s when this site was reinvented into the current form. I don’t have any of the past incarnations documented^*, especially after that one incident which caused my entire site to be wiped.

My resolution for the site’s ninth year is to actually update regularly. I keep saying that every so often, but I definitely need to actually do it.

So you guys will be able to get regular updates about nothing. Because that’s about all that’s happening.

^* I probably do, on an old backup disk or something. It’s not worth it to dig around for something.

[edit] Just realized I originally registered the domain in December of 2001. It was July 3rd of 2002 when I moved to my current host/registrar. So I’m totally wrong on both counts. The site will be 8 years old in December, and today is the 7th birthday at my current “location.”
